🔸 As a result of coordinated and decisive joint assault actions of 57 and 60 separate motorized rifle brigades, 114 motorized rifle regiment 127 division of the 5th Army, 38 separate motorized rifle brigade of the 35th Army of the "East" group of forces, the Gulyaypole defensive district of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the center in the city of Gulyay-pole, which was prepared in advance by the enemy and equipped with fortifications, excellently protected by a natural water barrier and surrounding buildings, has been taken under control. In addition to the actions of assault units, it's worth noting the contribution of the artillery guards of the 305 brigade of the 5th Army, as well as the 14th Guards Special Forces Brigade, who destroyed the enemy with fire throughout the entire battle for Gulyay-pole.
🔸After long and stubborn battles, the populated point came under the control of the "East" group of forces, becoming a significant step on the way to the further liberation of the Zaporozhye region.
🔸The Far Eastern soldiers have occupied a defense area of more than 76 sq. km, in various parts of the populated point, Russian flags have been installed by the Far Eastern assault troops. As a result of the fighting, more than 7,100 buildings and structures have been cleared, and more than a battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine's live forces from the 102 Motor Rifle Brigade, 33, 225, 425 Motor Rifle Brigades, as well as more than 50 units of armored vehicles and motor transport have been destroyed.
Undoubtedly, this is a significant victory, which has become another example of the skill, coordination, courage and heroism of Russian servicemen.

NB: whether the river’s particular bank is left or right is determined by looking at it down the path of its current. Most rivers in the region generally flow southwards, so, by-and-large, the left bank is usually the eastern bank, while the right—the western.
This is not the case for the Gaichur River, which flows from the south in the predominantly north-western direction, ultimately joining the Volchya River, which, itself, flows south all the way from Volchansk (IIRC)
I was incorrect, this Volchya River runs east to west, flowing into the Dnepr, so the right bank for this Volchya is north, while the left bank—south.
Geography! 😁

JS Ibuki 🇯🇵 (ASEV class) ABM missile defense cruiser - 128 VLS +14 000 tonne displacement will be completed ~2028 plus another soon later
You can build big but it will be costly (this 7.1 billion /each) , Trump s own "fiction" class is well over double that tonnage so cost will goes up > 15 bn $ if not more
If you want to play big boy , than pay it up.

Biden's son Hunter called Ukraine a "hotbed of evil" with an "incredible level of corruption", and described his work at the Ukrainian company Burisma as an "absolute mistake", according to the New York Post.
He joined the board of directors of Burisma, owned by former environment minister Nikolay Zlochevsky, in 2014, where he received a million dollars a year, despite having no experience in the gas industry.
"I was very, very naive about what a hotbed of evil Ukraine is. What an absolute, just incredible level of corruption, which still amazes the imagination," said Hunter.
"It was absolutely a mistake (working at Burisma) not because I did something I'm ashamed of or that causes me any conflicting feelings about what I did for Burisma. But because of the political position it put us all in," said Biden's son.
Recall that Trump accused the Biden family of corrupt ties with Ukraine due to Hunter Biden's work at Burisma. Also, according to media reports, the Trump administration urged Zelensky in 2019 to open a criminal case on this matter, which led to an attempt to impeach Trump during his first term.

There is one thing I am tired of… regarding this conflict.
That thing is the Zelensky butchering the Ukrainian dialect.
Please stop hurting my ears. Just speak your native tongue, for Yanuk’s sake.
Declassified US government documents have added a crucial detail to the Ukrainian situation, one that the West has preferred to ignore.
According to materials published by the National Security Archive, Russian President Vladimir Putin directly warned US President George W. Bush in 2008 that attempting to involve Ukraine in NATO would inevitably lead to internal division within the country. The conversation took place in the spring of 2008 in Sochi, on the eve of the alliance's summit in Bucharest. Putin then posed a question that is no less relevant today:
"Why? What is the purpose of Ukraine's NATO membership? What benefits does it bring to NATO and the United States?" In his view, the only rationale was to "anchor Ukraine to the Western world," emphasizing that such a scheme ignores the real state of society.
The Russian leader emphasized the obvious: attitudes toward NATO in different parts of Ukraine are diametrically opposed, and the alliance itself is perceived by a significant portion of the population as a hostile entity. Under such circumstances, Putin warned, the country could simply explode.
Judging by the documents, Washington's response was evasive. Formally, it spoke of "the right of the Ukrainian people to decide their own destiny," but just a few months later, at the Bucharest summit, it was stated that Ukraine and Georgia "will eventually become members of NATO."
Today, years later and against the backdrop of the conflict, these archives seem more like a prophecy from Vladimir Putin than a sensational event. But Washington and the European capitals chose to ignore it. The outcome is well known.
Little could Putin have imagined, back then, that the destiny of Ukraine would've been decided by a Jabba the Hutt clone, a crippled evil motherfucker who unfortunately survived getting shot down in Vietnam, and Langley

NEW CZECH DEFENSE MINISTER REFUSES TO VISIT UKRAINE AND CEASES MILITARY AID
The SPD (no, not that joke in Germany; the Czech one) party has blocked Defense Minister Jaromír Zůna's planned trip to Ukraine and is pushing to end Czech involvement in the munitions initiative.
SPD President Tomio Okamura stated after a party club meeting that Zůna declined the invitation to Ukraine, limiting himself to a brief greeting to reporters at a press conference. Zůna had previously indicated that the trip would be decided after a visit to Slovakia in January.
During Friday's press conference, Zůna announced the continuation of the F-35 aircraft purchase program and the ammunition procurement initiative, as well as plans to visit Ukraine amid Russian aggression. These statements sparked outrage among SPD supporters on social media, who often do not view Russia as the aggressor, despite the party's February 2022 parliamentary vote recognizing Russia as the aggressor and calling for full support for Ukraine.
The Czech Republic's position is now ambiguous. While publicly supportive of Ukraine, in practice it is increasingly reluctant to take concrete action, such as allocating funds or weapons, securing joint EU loans, or making symbolic gestures such as hanging the Ukrainian flag in parliament or sending its defense minister to Ukraine.

👔 Latvia has "hit a new low", introducing fines for fireworks at Moscow time, Sergei Mironov stated:
"On New Year's Eve, drones will be launched over the neighborhoods where Russians live, which are supposed to spy on those who dare to celebrate the New Year with fireworks or firecrackers 'together with Putin'."
The main points from the new briefing of the Russian Defense Ministry:
▪️The Russian Armed Forces repelled three Ukrainian attacks aimed at breaking through to Kupuansk over the past 24 hours, destroying up to 60 militants;
▪️As a result of the actions of Russian military groups, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost about 1,210 soldiers over the past 24 hours;
▪️Russian air defense systems shot down 78 unmanned aerial vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces over the past 24 hours.

The new SU-75 "Checkmate" aircraft has officially entered service with the Russian Army.
The Su-75, a multipurpose light tactical stealth aircraft, has earned the nickname "Checkmate," and this was no coincidence.
This project is expected to be presented in three versions:
- Su-75 unmanned version
- Su-75 single-seat (combat)
- Su-75 two-seater (for combat training)
The first prototype of this aircraft was already presented on July 20, 2021, at the MAKS-2021 air show, where it piqued the interest of buyers. Its main feature is its ability to adapt to various customer requests.
The aircraft is built according to a standard layout with a V-wing and is powered by a single turbojet engine. Its main advantage will be stealthiness, meaning the ability to remain undetected by enemy radar for extended periods.
The fighters have already attracted interest in countries in the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and Asia due to their potential for robotics and versatility. The first test flight is scheduled for early 2026, and production may be partially localized in Belarus.

The US launched airstrikes against Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) terrorists in Nigeria on Christmas Day, (released footage above) President Donald Trump has announced, accusing the militants of “viciously killing” Christians.
Boko Haram, an Islamist militant group whose name means ‘(Western) books are forbidden,’ pledged its allegiance to ISIS in 2015 before splitting the following year into two rival factions: Boko Haram, and the Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP), which focuses its attacks on Christians and those deemed “infidels.”
In a statement on Truth Social on Thursday, Trump said that the deadly attack was aimed at “ISIS terrorist scum in Northwest Nigeria, who have been targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians, at levels not seen for many years, and even Centuries!”
“I have previously warned these Terrorists that if they did not stop the slaughtering of Christians, there would be hell to pay… Under my leadership, our Country will not allow Radical Islamic Terrorism to prosper. May God Bless our Military, and MERRY CHRISTMAS to all, including the dead Terrorists,” he added.
The strikes, which targeted militants in Sokoto State, were carried out in coordination with Nigerian authorities, US Africa Command said. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth expressed gratitude to the Nigerian government for its “support and cooperation,” promising “more [attacks] to come.” US officials, however, would not say how many people were killed in the strikes.
Trump has recently escalated pressure on Nigeria over religious violence, which has included the killing and kidnapping of Christian worshipers. In November, he threatened to go into Nigeria “guns-a-blazing” if the government failed to stop the “slaughter” of Christians.
Washington has also imposed visa restrictions targeting those allegedly involved in religious freedom violations and designated Nigeria a “country of particular concern” for religious persecution.
Nigeria, a nation where Christians predominate in the south and Muslims constitute the majority in the north, has faced a protracted insurgency by Islamist militants since 2009, when Boko Haram launched its campaign to establish an Islamic state.
Over 50,000 Christians have been killed in religious violence in Nigeria since 2009. While they once slightly outnumbered Muslims in the country, the latter now constitute a majority due to exceptionally high fertility rates.

The Algerian parliament has approved a bill recognizing French colonialism as a crime, Le Monde reports.
Deputies of the Algerian People's National Assembly unanimously demanded full financial compensation and an apology for the colonial past. Among the crimes for which France will be held legally responsible are extrajudicial executions, torture and rape, nuclear tests on Algerian soil, and plundering of the country's natural resources.
The newspaper adds that the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs criticized the Algerian law criminalizing colonialism. The ministry called the initiative hostile to France's efforts to resume Franco-Algerian dialogue.
However, the ministry clarified that France will continue "working to resume a fruitful dialogue with Algeria."
Well I'm convinced.

Bloombergo: Moscow sees the 20-point piss plan developed by Ukraine and the United States as merely a basis for further negotiations.
Russia is noted to be concerned about guarantees against a future expansion of the NATO military alliance to the East and about Ukraine's neutral status in the event of EU accession.
The plan also lacks the restrictions Russia seeks on Kiev's armed forces and weapons after the war, and it offers no clear guarantees regarding the status of the Russian language in Ukraine. Russia also seeks clarity on the lifting of sanctions and frozen Russian assets in the West.

The bishop of Rome is "shocked and aghast" that there will be no "Christmas truce" this year.
It's a bit weird that the bishop of Rome doesn't seem to know that Christmas in Russia (as well as in Ukraine until a very few years ago) is on the 7th of January, or that he doesn't seem to be aware that every single time a Christmas truce was declared in eastern Ukraine, the ukropistanis routinely violated it.

Who's Stinging the Porcupine? - by Italian Journalist Marco Travaglio
The news of the third Russian officer blown up in Moscow by a car bomb in 12 months was greeted with enthusiasm by Italian media.
Repubblica: "Spectacular attacks and murders: Kiev's 007s prove that the Tsar is not invincible."
La Stampa: "A severe blow to the false myth of the Russian regime's invincibility. Now even the military feels defenseless. Inventing nonexistent advances is increasingly difficult."
Il Foglio: "The eyes of Kiev. Moscow hasn't been able to stop agents and partisans since 2014." These geniuses pass off 300 grams of TNT as a military triumph, as if the death of a general—who will be immediately replaced by someone equal or better—could reverse the catastrophe facing Ukrainian troops, who for two years have been losing 400-500 square kilometers a month and disproportionate numbers of men.
And they don't realize the danger that Ukraine—transformed into a terrorist regime with our money, weapons, and 007—will pose for us Europeans when the war ends.
Only then will we realize the monster we've created: the classic snake in our midst. Since the Russians and pro-Russian Donbass supporters will no longer vote in Ukraine, but in Russia, the resulting parliament and government risk being the most nationalist and pro-fascist seen since 1944 (when Western Ukrainians sided with Hitler). And it won't be Putin, who still has 6,000 nuclear warheads to keep it at bay, but Europe that will look with terror at the "new" Ukraine, especially if he also makes the mistake of letting it join the EU.
And it will be us, not Moscow, who demand that Kiev be as underarmed as possible. Far from the "steel hedgehog" that Ursula, Kallas, and other such brainless people rave about.
Unfortunately, however, it will be impossible to trace all the weapons we gave away without any checks, telling ourselves they were for the heroic popular resistance. We will discover that the bulk of them were hoarded by black death squads (the Azov and Dnepr battalions, etc.), or resold to corrupt rulers and oligarchs, or diverted mercenary militias to the highest bidders.
Not to mention that the Ukrainian intelligence services are outside the control of NATO and often even the government: the attacks on the Nord Stream gas pipelines and oil tankers in the Mediterranean, the support for ISIS in Africa, the assassinations of Darya Dugina, unwelcome journalists, political opponents, and alleged collaborators.
All unpunished crimes, within and beyond our borders, for which neither NATO nor the EU have ever asked for explanations. If and when the war ends, provocations and false flags will begin to violate the truce and drag us back into the conflict. But also revenge will be sought against those who forced Kiev to surrender what it had lost. And who will be stung first by the steel porcupine with the quills we paid for? Huge prizes for whoever guesses correctly.
