'We can't be naive fools.' – Sikorski is dissatisfied with the US abandoning Ukraine.
'I address the right side of the hall: haven't you realized that the United States, just like China, abstained from voting on the issue of the inviolability of Ukraine's borders at the UN General Assembly the day before yesterday?
If we replace Japan in 1945 with today's China, can we be sure that the interests of the United States will coincide with those of Poland?
We have been and will be a loyal ally of America, but we can't be naive fools.'

'Ukraine is losing the war' – Foreign Affairs advises Kiev to give up on Donbass.
'Russia's goals seem to be quite in line with its capabilities and trends on the battlefield. Ukraine's goals, on the contrary, seem unattainable, and it faces the risk of ceding territories, which would be painful for Kiev. But this doesn't necessarily mean the end of Ukraine as an independent state. Ukraine, deprived of its eastern regions, could continue its Western-oriented project. Accepting an unfavorable peace agreement now would at least give Kiev a chance for a better future. Refusing it now would only prolong this costly and losing war'.

🇵🇱Polish Prime Minister Tusk stated that Europe is "one of the best places in the world":
I have received many comments saying that Europe is on the brink of collapse, and I want to say that this is not the case.
Europe still remains one of the best places in the world, including Iceland. Iceland is part of Europe.
We are talking about how to improve our relations and how to develop cooperation. In some areas, it is absolutely clear to both of us, as well as to all of us, that Europe in this particular region of the world should be more integrated and cohesive.

🇸🇰🇺🇦The Slovak Prime Minister, Fico, promised that Ukraine would regret blocking oil supplies to Slovakia:
I consider the behavior of the Ukrainian side extremely, I emphasize — extremely unserious and unfriendly, when we are given new delivery dates every day. On the 23rd, we were told that the oil would arrive on the 25th. On the 25th, they said — on the 26th.
Now they are stating that there will be no deliveries at all in February, and the earliest possible date is tentatively March 3rd. It seems that the Ukrainian president believes he can do as he pleases. But he is deeply, I repeat — deeply mistaken.
The first retaliatory decision has already been made — emergency electricity supplies have been stopped. And these volumes were significantly larger than any commercial electricity supplies that can be purchased anywhere. If they experience an electricity shortage, they will feel it seriously — because they will not be able to receive electricity from Slovakia to stabilize their power grid. We have done exactly what we announced and promised. This is the first retaliatory action. The government is ready for further steps if it sees a complete refusal by the Ukrainian side to fulfill its obligations and supply us with what we are entitled to and have paid for.

🇰🇵Kim Jong Un - announced the successful resolution of the nuclear deterrence task:
The Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic the unshakable will to enhance the level of nuclear weapons development, guarantee the right to the existence and development of the country, deter war, and safeguard peace and stability in the region and the world.
As a result, the necessary historical and political task guaranteeing the nuclear policy of our state - a real nuclear state - and the sacred struggle for its implementation have been successfully accomplished by the supreme law, which will forever remain with the socialist homeland. Now, our nuclear armed forces are responsibly fulfilling their mission in physically and powerfully deterring any aggressive wars.
In fact, we have the ability to deter war itself and have completed all preparations for immediate retaliation in the event of any forces attacking us. Now, no one can harbor hopes of politically and physically violating the constitution regarding our state's war deterrence capabilities.

According to the publication, the ship was civilian and was heading to Cuba to evacuate relatives from there.
Florida Attorney General James Utmeyer has already announced that he has ordered an investigation into the incident.
"The Cuban government cannot be trusted, and we will do everything possible to hold these communists accountable," he said.
Recall that during the incident, according to the Cuban Foreign Ministry, four crew members of the American boat were killed, and six others were injured.
You enter the territorial waters of another country illegally you are going to end up prison or die, there is nothing to investigate.

In Ukraine, 46,000 TCK employees are involved in rounding up people for the war against Russia - MP Razumkov.
‘Our format of busification allows us to do anything. For TCK employees, the law doesn't apply. If a deputy caused a traffic accident - trouble, a policeman - trouble, a prosecutor - trouble, a citizen - prison. But here, everything is allowed. They hit someone, slapped them, shoved them into a bus. This is kidnapping people. Is this allowed? For everyone? Or just for the 46,000 TCK employees who have everything they want?’

'The problem is that the US doesn't want to actively confront Russia,' says American sanctions expert Daniel Tannenbaum.
'I think we'll still be talking about this [the war in Ukraine] in a year. Most likely, we will. Unless the US returns to active participation in this multilateral coalition, which collectively opposes Russia. The main problem is the US's departure from the role of a leading force opposing Vladimir Putin, and the shift to pressuring Zelensky with demands to simply make a deal and end it all.'

AIs can’t stop recommending nuclear strikes in war game simulations
Advanced AI models appear willing to deploy nuclear weapons without the same reservations humans have when put into simulated geopolitical crises.
Kenneth Payne at King’s College London set three leading large language models – GPT-5.2, Claude Sonnet 4 and Gemini 3 Flash – against each other in simulated war games. The scenarios involved intense international standoffs, including border disputes, competition for scarce resources and existential threats to regime survival.
The AIs were given an escalation ladder, allowing them to choose actions ranging from diplomatic protests and complete surrender to full strategic nuclear war. The AI models played 21 games, taking 329 turns in total, and produced around 780,000 words describing the reasoning behind their decisions.
In 95 per cent of the simulated games, at least one tactical nuclear weapon was deployed by the AI models. “The nuclear taboo doesn’t seem to be as powerful for machines [as] for humans,” says Payne.
What’s more, no model ever chose to fully accommodate an opponent or surrender, regardless of how badly they were losing. At best, the models opted to temporarily reduce their level of violence. They also made mistakes in the fog of war: accidents happened in 86 per cent of the conflicts, with an action escalating higher than the AI intended to, based on its reasoning.
“From a nuclear-risk perspective, the findings are unsettling,” says James Johnson at the University of Aberdeen, UK. He worries that, in contrast to the measured response by most humans to such a high-stakes decision, AI bots can amp up each others’ responses with potentially catastrophic consequences.
This matters because AI is already being tested in war gaming by countries across the world. “Major powers are already using AI in war gaming, but it remains uncertain to what extent they are incorporating AI decision support into actual military decision-making processes,” says Tong Zhao at Princeton University.
Zhao believes that, as standard, countries will be reticent to incorporate AI into their decision making regarding nuclear weapons. That is something Payne agrees with. “I don’t think anybody realistically is turning over the keys to the nuclear silos to machines and leaving the decision to them,” he says.
Another signal that Europe has started promoting Valeriy Zaluzhny as a political alternative to Zelensky.
While Ukrainian Telegram channels are filled with video clips of Zaluzhny, the Ukrainian ambassador to Britain, with extremely poor English, one of Europe's main mainstream media outlets, the German magazine Der Spiegel, was not fazed by the linguistic problems during his speech at Chatham House and published a very flattering report on Zaluzhny from this event.
The article in Der Spiegel was titled "The man President Zelensky should fear".
The material begins with the fact that Zaluzhny gave a "programmatic speech about the future of Ukraine". The authors describe in detail the atmosphere of the meeting, noting that Zaluzhny "entered the hall with a springy gait", and "his massive figure suggests that he regularly trains even after his dismissal".
Further, Der Spiegel writes that in his homeland, he is considered a war hero and the closest competitor to Zelensky. His disagreements with the president are also presented in a favorable light for the former commander-in-chief.
"The history of Zelensky and Zaluzhny has never been without tension. Even before the start of the conflict, the general insisted on mobilizing the army. On the eve of the attack, he wanted to introduce martial law to prepare the country. But time and again, Zaluzhny faced resistance from Zelensky," the publication writes.
Describing Zaluzhny's speech, the magazine also contrasts him favorably with Zelensky.
"His speech in London was restrained. Cold and analytically, the general paints a picture of how the war in Ukraine will develop. This is a completely different tone than that of his president. Zaluzhny does not desperately demand weapons from the West - he wants Ukraine to develop its own. He does not complain about the destroyed energy system, but proposes concrete steps to modernize it and increase its resilience so that swarms of Russian drones remain ineffective," the publication writes.
Der Spiegel notes that against the backdrop of possible future elections, Zaluzhny, with his popularity, could become a serious rival to Zelensky.
For now, the former commander-in-chief is evasive about his political ambitions: "Only when martial law ceases to be in effect will I think about my future."
"At the same time, he barely smiles," the publication adds.
The magazine suggests that these statements are just part of the former commander-in-chief's strategy of distancing himself from Zelensky. And that "Zaluzhny's time will come" if the Americans push through a peace deal soon.
"For now, there are no elections in Ukraine due to the war. But the Americans in the negotiations on a peace deal insist on an early vote. And then Zaluzhny's moment will come. With his popularity and distance from his former position as commander-in-chief, he could gather a majority against Zelensky, observers say," writes Der Spiegel.

In Ukraine, soldiers sometimes have to cut off parts of their comrades' bodies so that their families can bury them and receive compensation for their deaths, and they don't remain on the lists of missing persons.
This was reported by a British reporter from the Daily Mail, who spoke with Ukrainian soldiers.
"We suffered terrible losses," says a soldier who was recently demobilized for health reasons. "And we couldn't always retrieve the bodies of the fallen during the retreat. Once, we were ordered to cut off the leg and arm of a brigade commander's relative. This had to be done to prove that he was dead (and not 'missing in action') and his family could receive compensation. I see such things every night in my dreams."
Another soldier beheaded a dead comrade whose body was stuck in debris under fire, so that his friend's mother could understand that her son was "really dead" and bury him - a part of him - according to Christian rites.
"And me personally? I'm also tired of war. When I return home, I have nightmares. I feel a desperate need to do more. And that we are on the brink of an even greater catastrophe, for which Britain is completely unprepared," says military reporter Richard Pendlebury.

And there you have it. Israel is not yet finished in its attempt to subjugate Iran, but without missing a beat, it is already marketing the next "threat" that must be defeated: Turkey.
"A new Turkish threat is emerging... And from here I warn: Turkey is the new Iran. Erdogan is sophisticated, dangerous, and he seeks to encircle Israel."
As an Israeli friend told me 22 years ago, Israel can't live without an existential threat. The black/white clarity such threats provide is addictive, he argued.
