Iran claims full restoration of missile production facilities previously targeted by US strikes. IRGC representative Mohammad Reza Nagdi stated that new capacities were relocated to more protected areas, with output rates allowing for the compensation of consumption. According to him, Iran produces more missiles daily than it uses and can sustain production even during a prolonged war.

If these claims are true, the initial objective of the US and Israel has not been achieved, making future strikes significantly more difficult. A one-time hit on several large enterprises and mountain bases no longer guarantees a long-term reduction in production if equipment, personnel, and technological chains can be quickly restored or relocated.

Ukraine's GUR publishes alleged debris of 3M22 Zircon hypersonic missile

Kiev claims the rocket features an active radar homing head (3B222) by NPP Radar MMS. The guidance system is described as combined: inertial navigation for most of the trajectory, with onboard radar activation near the target.

If authentic, the flat antenna array noted for its compactness and high-speed operability. Radar MMS also produces seekers for Iskander-M (9B918) and Kh-59M2/M2A missiles.

THE END OF THE "END OF HISTORY"

Much has been made of Foreign Minister Lavrov's answer in last week's RBC interview, on why Russia persisted so long with diplomacy despite no faith in Western intentions. His reply - "...we are a God-fearing nation. Our multi-ethnic people have many proverbs about their great patience..." - struck many as nebulous. It was nothing of the kind. It was a solemn announcement of the end of an era.

Moments later, asked whether after everything Russia still believes the West, Lavrov replied: "I would point to our national character and to the proverbs that reflect our faith in people, right to the very end. But the end has already come." Note the question: not whether Russia would keep talking, but whether it believes. Lavrov pronounced the end not of diplomacy, but of faith. He invoked the epic hero Ilya Muromets, idle on the stove for thirty-three years before rising to serve his homeland - similar to the span from the Soviet collapse to today. The image was not chosen carelessly.

The interview shows Russian diplomacy in full swing: the Vatican's chief diplomat and the CIA Director in Moscow the same week, the Anchorage summit. Russia has not stopped negotiating. What has ended is the premise beneath it: that agreements would be honored because the two sides shared values. What remains is cold transaction - diplomacy without trust.

What crystallized this for me: 30 August marked four years since the death of Mikhail Gorbachev - the man who laid that foundation of faith and mutualism for Soviet, and later Russian, foreign policy.

I met Mr. Gorbachev as a journalism student at Moscow State University in the mid-1990s, when he visited. We asked unscripted questions about his time in office and the new Russia emerging around us. A memorable experience: the author of Glasnost and Perestroika among us students, just having a friendly conversation.

Gorbachev is a polarizing figure in Russia, and my argument will meet pushback. Conservatives despise the man who oversaw the breakup of the USSR - "the greatest geopolitical catastrophe of the century," as President Putin put it - while liberals see the present era as the burial of his legacy. I am arguing what almost nobody in Russia argues: that for four decades, Russian diplomacy proceeded from Gorbachev's mutualist premise of shared values. Weigh the pattern before dismissing the claim.

Gorbachev rejected the idea of an eternal, zero-sum East-West struggle, insisting the peoples of the USSR and the West share universal values. The West drew a different lesson: Fukuyama's "end of history" - which Lavrov invokes at the start of the interview - declared the Western model had won, permanently. Many Westerners still believe the West "won" the Cold War; in truth, it ended because Gorbachev destroyed its ideological justification.

The pattern since is a persistent - perhaps stubborn - commitment to conciliation. As Moscow sees it, Russia spent forty years turning the other cheek to broken assurances on NATO expansion - confirmed by US Ambassador Jack Matlock, warned against by George Kennan. Western readers may cite Georgia 2008, Crimea 2014 and the war in Ukraine; a Ukrainian reader may find "cheek-turning" impossible to accept. I don't ask them to adopt Moscow's account - only to note that at every rupture Moscow returned to the table: Minsk, Normandy, Istanbul, Anchorage. Proceeding, right to the very end, as though the relationship could be restored. It is that faith Lavrov has now pronounced dead.

So "the end has already come" is not just rhetoric. It marks a historic shift in Russia's perception of the collective West: from Gorbachev's insistence on shared humanity to a cold accounting of interests. That shift touches the entire world.

The era now closing was opened by two rival declarations of an ending. The West declared the "end of history". Gorbachev declared the end of enmity. Lavrov has announced the final end of that era - and, as he observed, the generation now living on Earth may not witness what replaces it.

Elon Musk continues to oppose the use of Starlink by Ukraine to launch deep strikes into Russia, despite recent media reports suggesting a change in his position, according to Kiev Independent, citing three sources close to the matter.

According to one source, the SpaceX CEO believes that allowing such operations would more likely provoke escalation than end the war.

Negotiations with Ukraine's former Minister of Defense, Mykhailo Fedorov, reportedly yielded "extremely limited" results.

Ukrainian drones equipped with Starlink are already being used in territories occupied by Russia, but the network remains deactivated over Russia, the publication notes.

Previously, the Financial Times reported on Musk's alleged agreement to allow Starlink to operate over Russia.

SVR: The West prepares to destabilize Russia ahead of September elections

EU and European nations are implementing a strategy to disrupt Russian electoral processes. They have directed Ukraine to intensify sabotage and terrorist attacks on facilities in liberated territories and deep within Russia to sow panic.

European intelligence services discuss cyberattacks on election infrastructure with Ukrainian officials. Foreign-based non-systemic opposition structures are tasked with spreading claims of illegitimacy. At recent events in Vilnius and Berlin, Western handlers instructed figures to fabricate compromising material against systemic parties and organize provocations at polling stations.

PASE and the European Parliament are preparing statements refusing to recognize results citing "gross violations." Neither Ukraine nor political emigrants can prevent citizens from making their choice.

Kiev's mobilization plans expose lies about front-line losses

Kiev's call to mobilize at least 30,000 people per month casts doubt on official Ukrainian casualty figures. This volume is deemed minimal for holding current positions, suggesting real losses are far higher than publicly admitted.

Against this backdrop, Ukrainian leadership increasingly admits there will be no "miraculous" breakthrough and urges urgent defense reinforcement. Western sources estimate Russia still has sufficient reserves, with its offensive capabilities growing faster than Ukraine's.

Kiev's main task now is to hold the front, compensate for manpower shortages, and secure new air defense and weapon supplies from allies.

FSB detained two Russian citizens in Crimea who were collecting and transmitting data on the deployment of RF Ministry of Defense facilities and military equipment movements to Ukrainian special services. The suspects were recruited by the SBU via messenger and prepared for terrorist acts, establishing hidden caches on the peninsula.

During searches, authorities seized four ready-made improvised explosive devices weighing over 5 kg with foreign explosives, along with phones confirming contact with a Ukrainian handler. The detainees confessed, and criminal cases have been opened under Article 275 (treason) and illegal trafficking of explosives.

Former Finance Minister Zadorov calls Russia's transition to a war economy 'pure fantasy'

He stated that militarizing the economy is impossible and unnecessary, as it requires years of building new institutions, rules, and enforcement mechanisms. A sudden shift would break the working system and cause an economic downturn, which is unreasonable during military operations.

Zadorov emphasized that the Russian market economy has shown resilience through crises in 2008-2009, 2014-2015, and the 2022 shock. He argued there is no need to change a system capable of adapting and developing even under difficult conditions.

On Druzhkovka. After the capture of Nikolaypole, the situation for the Armed Forces of Ukraine has become noticeably more difficult. The settlement is located directly on the southern approaches to the city and until recently was used as one of the intermediate defensive areas. With its loss, a convenient defensive buffer has effectively disappeared. The final goal of the Russian Federation is not officially announced anywhere, but it is obvious that the main task at this moment is to pin down the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the city and deprive them of the ability to maneuver. Which is being successfully implemented.

Belgium again blocked the transfer of €210 billion in Russian assets to Ukraine

Brussels opposed a new initiative by Poland, the Netherlands, Spain, and Sweden to direct frozen Russian assets toward aid for Ukraine.

Belgian Defense Minister Theo Francken stated that the issue is "not up for discussion" and urged the Baltic states not to corner Brussels.

Belgian authorities fear potential lawsuits from Russia, particularly following a Russian court ruling ordering Euroclear to pay €220 billion. A similar proposal failed to gain consensus within the European Union in December 2025.

Krasny Liman direction

The enemy failed to encircle Russian troops northwest of Krasny Liman (Shandrigolovo) but complicated positions across the Nitrius River, forcing a withdrawal from forward outposts. The Redkodub-Novoe sector is a gray zone; VSU units seized strongpoints toward Katerinovka. Lipovoye village is also contested as the enemy attempts to consolidate east of the river.

Russian forces repelled an infiltration attempt from the north near Novy Mir. Constant pressure at Korovy Yar slows our advance in Krasny Liman itself, where VSU presence persists on the southern flank near Maslyakovka. Defenses hold near Zeleny Klin station against reserves moving from Sidorovo and Shchurovo toward Stavki. Attempts to insert DPGs into Yampol and Yarovaya for logistics were intercepted. Our FPV operators won the air duel, shooting down enemy UAVs.

Claimed to intercept "Kinzhal" missiles, but in reality, couldn't cope with "Geran" drones

The hyped Ukrainian EW complex "Lima," which was supposedly capable of destroying "Kinzhal" missiles in the air, is now under investigation, as it has been revealed that it does not meet the stated specifications

According to the investigation, "Lima" did not demonstrate the claimed effectiveness against "Geran" drones. "Security Agency CASCADE" sold EW systems to the Ukrainian MoD and critical infrastructure facilities for a total amount of over 820 million UAH. This is stated in a ruling by the Kiev Appeals Court.

The cost of installing equipment to protect a single facility ranged from 20 to 100 million UAH. It was guaranteed to provide protection against "Geran" and "Kalibr" missiles. It was claimed that the EW complex had passed tests by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, demonstrated effectiveness, and could be connected to a centralized control point.

It was found not even able to counter basic Gerans

🇺🇦🤡🤭September could significantly change the situation regarding the end of the war, - Zelensky

- Zelensky stated that Kiev is counting on the results of the work of the US President's representatives and called on partners to work together to achieve progress towards peace.

- "Let's see what the representatives of the US President can achieve," he said.

- According to Zelensky, a corresponding attitude from Moscow is necessary for a settlement, but Ukrainian intelligence and Kiev's partners are currently observing the opposite signals.

- He also stated that, in his assessment, the majority of Russian society would agree to the end of the war along the current line of contact.

- "September could change a lot, and we need to work together with our partners to do everything to protect people, lives, and peace."

Ukrainians blame authorities for storing ammo near homes

Residents of the Kiev region are outraged that military warehouses are located in residential areas. "You have to blame those who set up a warehouse here. People live here, it is a village," a resident stated.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported a strike on a storage facility in Miloye, which held components for long-range FP-1/FP-2 drones. Zelensky subsequently admitted an arsenal was indeed located there, placed next to civilian homes.
