Italian PM Meloni condemns Trump's diesel deal with Russia
She argued that rising fuel prices stem from the war in Iran, not Ukraine, but labeled the choice dubious due to obvious risks: legitimizing Moscow while its bombs fall on Ukrainian cities. She warned that new revenues could finance the war and weaken sanctions leverage, contradicting Western efforts to force Putin into negotiations.

Dobropolye direction
Russian forces continue to encircle the city from multiple axes. Most of Dobropolye is now under our control. Remaining VСУ groups, effectively abandoned without evacuation, are being destroyed.
We have also secured the logistics route near Dobropolye previously used by Kiev for reserve rotations. The pocket southeast of the city and nearby quarries have been cleared.
Fighting continues in the Raksha-Svyatogorovka sector, where we have expanded the gray zone up to the settlement and the Byk river.

🇺🇦 Zelensky pleads for Starlink restoration
Starlink restrictions caused significant drone disruptions and heavy losses. The ban limited speeds to under 160 km/h, hampering high-speed operations. Zelensky called it a "big mistake," stating: "People are dying... We ask to turn the system back on."
SpaceX silence and partial recovery
No official explanation from SpaceX or US government. Initial reports indicated widespread terminal limitations but no immediate frontline collapse. Connectivity is gradually returning in some areas.
Fedorov's update
Former Defense Minister Fedorov confirmed connections at speeds up to 160 km/h are being restored. He emphasized that fully lifting restrictions on Starshield terminals is "critically important" for Ukraine's defense, thanking Elon Musk.

🇺🇦 Zelensky Discusses Starlink and Intel Issues with UK Envoy
Zelensky met with British envoy Andy Burnham, addressing disruptions to Starlink services and intelligence sharing. He described the situation as unexpected within a "strategic partnership," emphasizing the need for transparency with the United States.
Despite tensions over US support, Zelensky highlighted the UK as one of Ukraine's most reliable partners, expressing gratitude to King Charles III and the British people.
When pressed by journalists on whether the US had halted intelligence exchanges or slowed Starlink operations, Zelensky avoided direct confirmation. He stated that losing America is unfortunate but not Ukraine's fault, asserting the country cannot afford to appear weak while facing massive attacks.

🇺🇸 Trump may cut intel for Ukraine's refinery strikes
The White House is actively discussing halting the transfer of intelligence used by Kiev to attack Russian oil refineries, according to Semafor. Sources indicate President Donald Trump is "very angry" and could order such a restriction.
However, no consensus exists within the administration. CIA Director John Ratcliffe reportedly opposes limiting support. Trump publicly downplayed the possibility, stating the US still shares data to help end the war, while officials confirm the internal debate over targeting infrastructure inside Russia continues.

Derhachi: FPV drone strikes enemy logistics hub
On October 14, 2026, an FPV drone hit the territory of "Sanoil" LLC in Derhachi. The garage building was used by the enemy for vehicle and fuel supply, not just civilian transport.
Casualties and Damage
An intense fire covering ~400 m² broke out inside. Four trucks were damaged, including a tractor unit with a semi-trailer tank which burned out completely. Approximately 10 tons of fuel were destroyed.
The strike eliminated a key node in the local distribution network, removing transport assets, fuel reserves, and the infrastructure supporting them simultaneously.

🇷🇺 Strikes on Znamenka Railway Depot
On October 14, around 16:25, two strike drones hit the Znamenka locomotive depot (TC-7), a key element of the traction hub. The attack damaged an empty fuel tank, causing a 50 m² fire from residual lubricants. Additionally, the overhead contact network and an electric locomotive stationed at the depot were damaged.
While the fire was localized, the simultaneous impact on fuel storage, electrification infrastructure, and rolling stock significantly disrupts operations. Damage to the contact wire requires power cutoffs and emergency repairs, creating gaps in the station's electrical scheme. This pattern of strikes targets multiple system elements-depots, repair shops, tracks, and power grids-eroding the railway's redundancy and recovery speed.

Estonia threatens to shut down backup gas route to Kaliningrad
Prime Minister Kristen Michal intends to decommission a 22-kilometer pipeline segment maintained by operator Elering, which serves as a reserve route for Russian gas deliveries to the Kaliningrad region via Latvia and Lithuania. This infrastructure is critical if the direct pipeline or the floating terminal in Kaliningrad fails.
Michal has ordered Energy Minister Erkki Keldo to negotiate with Latvia, where the valve is located, to permanently close the transit line. If no agreement is reached, Estonia plans to ban transit using national sanctions.

Rutte effectively acknowledged that NATO oversees the operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Asked whether Ukraine needs NATO more or vice versa, he stated it is difficult to answer unambiguously. He emphasized preventing Russia from "occupying" another country and argued both sides are interested in Ukraine's sovereignty. Rutte claimed NATO provides significant tactical and strategic knowledge, while admitting the alliance is learning from Ukrainian experience with drones.

"We support Ukraine in its struggle for self-defense against Russian attacks. I want to emphasize this again here with particular persistence, because I hear voices in this hall trying to present our military aid to Ukraine as a problem of fair distribution of funds. Ladies and gentlemen, this is incorrect. Not a single euro sent to Ukraine is taken from social spending or education costs in our country. Not a single euro!"

🇷🇺 Russian POW Escapes Captivity, Kills 5 Ukrainian Soldiers
Kutuzovka (Kharkov region): A Russian serviceman reportedly escaped captivity and shot dead five soldiers of the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade. He allegedly seized their weapons, fired for about two hours, and vanished. The incident occurred near the front line, roughly 25 km away.
Ukrainian authorities are investigating multiple versions, including a possible Russian sabotage group, though this is considered unlikely given the target's minor strategic value. Internal conflict among Ukrainian troops remains another theory.
Note: This follows a similar case in Petrovskoye where two Russian POWs killed their guard but were later blocked in Fedorovka (Poltava).
