EVERY MATTER IS DECREED ON LAYLATUL-QADR
ALLAH stated:
إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةٍ مُّبَارَكَةٍ
Verily, WE sent it (i.e., the Qur'an) down on a blessed night.
That is, one in which there was much good and barakah (blessing), namely Laylatul-Qadr, which is better than a thousand months. Thus HE sent down the best of words on the best of nights and days, to the best of people, in the language of the noble Arabs, to warn thereby people who were enveloped in ignorance and overcome with wretchedness, so that they might find enlightenment and be guided by it, and follow it, thus attaining a great deal of good in this world and in the hereafter. Hence ALLĀH says:
إِنَّا كُنَّا مُنذِرِينَ
Verily, WE are ever warning.
فِيهَا
On that night
namely the blessed night on which the Qur’an was revealed
يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ
All matters are decided on the basis of wisdom
That is, all matters are distinguished and clarified, and every issue of the divine decree and religious decree is recorded as ALLĀH decides.
This recording and clarification that take place on Laylatul-Qadr is one example of the writing that will take place and be clarified, and it will be identical to what is written in al-Lawh al-Mahfoodh, in which ALLĀH has decreed the affairs of all creatures and their lifespan, provision, deeds and circumstances.
Moreover, ALLĀH has appointed angels to write down what will happen to a person when he is in his mother’s womb, then, after he comes to this world, HE appoints noble scribes to write down and record his deeds, then on Laylatul-Qadr HE decrees what is to happen for the coming year.
All this is part of ALLAH’s perfect knowledge, wisdom and care for HIS creation.

But whoever does righteous deeds, whether male or female, while being a believer - those will enter Paradise and will not be wronged, ˹even as much as˺ the speck on a date seed.
{An-Nisā: Verse 122-224}
STEADFASTNESS UPON THE WORSHIP OF ALLĀH WITH FAMILY GUARANTEES PROVISION
ALLĀH says:
وَأْمُرْ أَهْلَكَ بِالصَّلَأةِ
And enjoin the Salah on your family
That is, encourage and urge your family to establish prayer, both obligatory and supererogatory. Enjoining prayer also implicitly enjoins everything without which it cannot be done. Hence this is a command to teach them how to pray, teach them what could invalidate the prayer, and teach them how to pray properly.
وَاصْطَبِرْ عَلَيْهَا
and be steadfast in offering them.
That is, remain steadfast in performing the prayer in the proper manner, paying attention to its essential parts, etiquette and focus of mind. If anyone finds that difficult, he should force himself to do it and strive to achieve that, and he should be patient in so doing. If he performs his prayer in the manner enjoined, he will be more careful and observant with regard to other matters of his religion, but if he neglects it, he will be more careless with regard to other matters. Then ALLĀH guarantees provision to HIS Messenger ﷺ so he should not be distracted by thinking of it from carrying out the commands of his religion.
لَا نَسْأَلُكَ رِزْقًا نَّحْنُ نَرْزُقُكَ
WE do not ask you for provision: WE provide for you
That is, your provision is due from US and WE guarantee it, just as WE guarantee the provision of all creatures, so how about one who complies with OUR commands and focuses on remembering US? The provision of ALLĀH is guaranteed to all, both those who fear HIM and others, so we should focus our attention on that which will bring eternal happiness, which is piety or fear of ALLĀH. Hence ALLĀH says:
وَالْعَاقِبَةُ
And the good end
in this world and the hereafter
لِلتَّقْوَى
Is for those who have Taqwa
Which means doing what is enjoined and refraining from what is prohibited.

SUMMARY OF SĪRAH
SECTION 1⃣
PART 9⃣: HIS RULING AMONG THE QURAYSH IN PLACING THE BLACK STONE
1⃣ In the 35th year of his life, the Quraysh demolished the Ka'bah and rebuilt it.
2⃣ He ﷺ participated with them in building it, carrying stones alongside the leaders of the Quraysh. His uncle, al-Abbas, was also with him.
3⃣ The Quraysh disagreed on who should place the Black Stone in its place, and then they agreed that the decision should be made by the first person to enter the mosque.
4⃣ So, the first person to enter was the Messenger of ALLĀH ﷺ, so the Quraysh rejoiced at this and said, "We are pleased with the trustworthy one."
5⃣ He placed the Black Stone on a robe and asked each leader to hold onto a corner of the robe. Then he instructed them to lift it, and when they reached its place, the Prophet ﷺ took it with his hand and placed it with his noble hand. His decision resolved the dispute, and the Quraysh marvelled at the strength of his thought.

From the 19th, you start 'tahajjud' which, by the way, is a highly rewarding act of worship. As we all know, acts of worship have conditions. I advise us to consider these:
1⃣ Tahajjud is a naafilah (supererogatory act of worship). Don't observe it such that it affects your fajr salaat which is mandatory, thus by far more rewarding than Tahajjud.
2⃣ You can perform Tahajjud with one surah alone and that would conform with the sunnah. Khatmah isn't at all a necessity. Perform it with tranquility, calmness, proper recitation with tajweed.
3⃣ Sometimes, perform five raka'aat with one sitting, sometimes seven raka'aat with one sitting, sometimes nine. Don't exceed eleven raka'aat.
4⃣ Try to prolong the rukoo' and sujood to be almost as long as the qiraa'ah.
5⃣ If the Imaam is a haafidh, there is no need for the ma'moomeen to hold the mus'haf, unless you are charged with correcting the Imaam and you aren't a haafidh.
6⃣ If you can lead your family at home, it would suffice. If you take your family along, however, make sure your wives and daughters are property dressed and behaved while there.
Considering the fitnah in our present days, it is better for father's to either lead their families at home or find a haafidh to come home and lead them.
7⃣ Do not raise your voice as loud as to disturb your neighbours' sleep/concentration.
8⃣ Do not block any public road/passage, as that will make you a nuisance!
9⃣ Seek reward with Tahajjud, nothing else.
WALLAAHU A'LAM. May Allaah accept our ibaadah.

STRIVE TO BE GENEROUS, EVEN WITH HALF A DATE
The Imam of our masjid earns less than a 100k. (I know because we had discussions about it)
He is married with a child and our area is just a keke away from Ikeja, so he is not living in a rural area. Yet, every night, he feeds people at the masjid.
Tonight it is jollof spaghetti and zobo WITHOUT meat. Yesternight it was Akara and Ogi. I think some nights were just Ogi; but every night, he feeds.
You see, a lot of us who do not spend now, when we start earning 1 million, we will still not "have enough" to spend.
For the remaining 16 days of Ramadhan, how about you try to take 0.5% of whatever you have in your account as sodaqah everyday? Even if it amounts to just 200 Naira. It's a life-saver for someone; and that person could be you - in your grave.
Many of us will not do this. Allah has put our poverty inbetween our two eyes because our fear of it is more than our hope in Allah.

STRIVING IN THE LAST TEN OF RAMADĀN
'Ā'ishah (may ALLĀH be pleased with her) narrated: "The Prophet ﷺ when the last ten entered, would enliven the night, awaken his family, strive earnestly and tighten his waste garment." {Agreed upon}
In another narration in Muslim: "ALLĀH'S Messenger ﷺ would strive in the last ten in a manner he did not strive in other than them." {Al-Bukhari #2024 and Muslim #1174}
The hadith is evidence that the last ten of Ramadān have a distinction over other than them; with an increase in acts of obedience and acts of worship such as şalāh, remembrance and recitation of the Qur'an.
The Mother of the Believers, 'A'ishah (may ALLĀH be pleased with her), described our Prophet and our example - Muhammad - with four characteristics:
1⃣ Her saying: "he would enliven the night" which means: he stayed up all night, enlivening it with acts of obedience, and enlivening himself by staying up all night in them. This is because sleep is the brother of death. The meaning is: he enlivened the night by standing in it (for salah) and devotion to ALLĀH, the Lord of all creation.
Regarding the prohibition of standing (in salah) the whole night - as has come in the hadith of 'Abdullah ibn Umar (may ALLĀH be pleased with them), then that is interpreted to mean: doing so continuously, every night of the year. {Majmū' al-Fatāwā, 22/308}
It also could be that it means he enlivened most of the night. That is supported by the saying of 'A'ishah (may ALLĀH be pleased with her): "I have never seen ALLAH'S Messenger ﷺ stand the whole night (in salāh) until the morning." {Muslim #746 and #141}
2⃣ Her saying: "awaken his family," which means: his pure wives, the Mothers of the Believers so that they may share with him in taking advantage of the good and the remembrance (of ALLĀH) and acts of worship in these blessed times.
3⃣ Her saying: "strive earnestly," which means: he strove to do acts of worship above what he did in the first twenty; and that is because the Night of Decree is in the last ten.
4⃣ Her saying: "tighten his waste garment," which means: he strove and labored in acts of worship. It is also said that it means: he kept away from his wives, and this is more apparent due to its attachment to what was before it. And he ﷺ used to make i'itikāf in the last ten, and the mu'takif is prohibited from his wives.
Truly, these ten are the seal of the month, and actions are according to their conclusions. Perhaps a person catches the Night of Decree while he is standing before the Lord of all creation, so his past sins will be forgiven. Therefore, the Muslim should increase in his worship when his month starts to decrease, and beautify himself with patience in performing acts of obedience. Actions are judged by the last of them.

📹 The LAYLATUL QADR story that may CHANGE your LIFE!!!
🎙️Shaykh Abdur-Razzaq al-Badr حفظه الله
THE SUPPLICATION FOR LAYLATUL QADR
Laylatul Qadr is one of the most special nights of the year, as it is the night in which the Holy Qur’an was revealed and is described in the Qur’an as being "better than a thousand months." As Muslims, we spend the night in worship, which includes reading the Qur’an, performing supererogatory prayers, and reciting the best duas for Laylatul Qadr.
The most beautiful dua to make on Laylatul Qadr can be found in a well-known hadith reported on the authority of 'Aaishah (may ALLĀH be pleased with her) who said, I said: "O Messenger of ALLĀH! What if I knew which night Laylatul Qadr was, what should I say in it?” The Prophet ﷺ said: "You should say:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي
Allāhumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘annee
O ALLĀH; YOU are the One Who pardons greatly; and YOU love to pardon; so pardon me.
{At-Tirmidhi #3513}
Ibn Rajab (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) said: "Al-‘Afuww (The One Who pardons greatly) is from the Names of ALLĀH, the Most High; and HE overlooks the wrongdoings of HIS servants, HE is the One Who erases their trace from them. HE Loves to pardon; and so HE Loves to pardon HIS servants, HE likewise Loves from HIS servants that they should pardon each other, so if they pardon each other; HE conducts HIS pardon with them; and HIS Pardon is more beloved to HIM than HIS Punishment."
{Lataa-if wal-Ma’aarif || Page 279}
Imaam An-Nawawee (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) said: "Our companions have stated that it is recommended that one be plentiful in making this supplication, and it is recommended to recite the Qur’ān as well as making the other invocations. It is recommended that one is plentiful within it in making supplications for the important matters pertaining to the Muslims, for this is the distinctive sign of the righteous, and the well-acquainted servants of ALLĀH."
{Al-Adhkaar || Page 229 (abridged)}
We ask ALLĀH to make us of those who will witness Laylatul Qadr and attain its benefits.

Читать полностью…Amongst the nights of Ramadān, there is one called ‘Laylatul Qadr’, a night that is noted for its great blessings. The Qur’an describes it as being greater in blessings and spiritual virtue than a thousand months, which in turn means that it is more valuable than eighty three years and four months. Fortunate indeed is that person who attains the full blessings of this night by spending it in the worship of ALLĀH, because he has then attained the reward of worship for eighty three years, four months and even more.
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whosoever stands in worship on this night, with sincere faith and with genuine hopes of gaining reward, his previous sins will be forgiven." {Bukhari #1901}
Ibn Rajab used to say: "O you who has wasted the years of his life, there is nothing that will amend those lost and wasted years except for the night of Al-Qadr, for verily its value is equivalent to that of a lifetime." {Lata'if al-Ma'aarif || Page 191}

JUMU'AH REMINDER AND PROHIBITION OF TALK DURING KHUTBAH

O believers! When the call to prayer is made on Friday, then proceed ˹diligently˺ to the remembrance of ALLĀH and leave off ˹your˺ business. That is best for you, if only you knew.
[Surah Al-Jumuʿah: 9]
PROHIBITION OF TALK DURING KHUTBAH
Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet ﷺ said, "If you said to your companion: 'Be quiet and listen' on Friday while the Imām is delivering the sermon, then you would be guilty of idle talk." {al-Bukhari 892, Muslim 851}
Al-Nawawi said, “In this tradition is the prohibition of every kind of talking during the sermon.”
{Sharh al-Nawawi ‘ala Sahih Muslim 851}
The Prophet ﷺ also said:
"Whoever performs ablution in an excellent manner, comes to Friday prayer, and listens while remaining quiet, his sins will be forgiven until the next Friday and an additional three days, but whoever fiddles with pebbles has engaged in idle action." {Muslim 857}.
Concerning "whoever fiddles with pebbles has engaged in idle action." An-Nawawi mentioned, "It means prohibition of fiddling with pebbles and the like during the Khutbah, and what is meant by idle action here is what is false, rejected and disliked."
{Sharh al-Nawawi ‘ala Sahih Muslim 857}
THE PROHIBITION INCLUDES:
1⃣ Giving Salam upon entering masjid
2⃣ Responding to Salam
3⃣ Engaging in Dhikr
4⃣ Responding to questions about the religion
5⃣ Saying Yarhamuk-Allāh (may ALLĀH have mercy on you) to one who sneezes.
6⃣ Responding to messages or calls on devices

3⃣ Saying Amin (silently) when the Imam makes Dua
4⃣ Saying (silently) 'Alhamdulillah' when sneezing.

🌙 AL-I'TIKĀF
Ibn 'Umar narrated: "ALLAH'S Messenger ﷺ used to make i'tikāf in the last ten during Ramadān." {Bukhari #2025 and Muslim #1171}
The hadith is evidence for the virtue of i'tikäf and sticking to the masajid especially in the last ten of Ramadān because he used to make i'tikāf in the last ten of Ramadān until ALLĀH caused him to pass. And whatever the Messenger did as an act of obedience and seeking nearness (to ALLĀH), then it is recommended for us.
I'tikāf is not correct unless it is done in a masjid that holds congregational prayers, even if Salat-ul-Jumu'ah takes place during his i'tikaf. In fact, if it is easy to make i'tikāf in a masjid that holds Jumu'ah then this is safer, because there are those from the people of knowledge who make that a condition.
The mu'takif (one making i'tikāf) enters (the masjid) before the setting of the sun on the twenty-first night - according to the majority of people of knowledge. This is due to the hadith of Abu Sa'id narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever is making i'tikäf with me, let him do it in the last ten..." {al-Bukhari #2018 and Muslim #1167}
What supports this is that one of the aims of i'tikāf is to seek the Night of Decree which is hoped for in the odd nights of the last ten, and the first of these nights is the twenty-first.
I'tikāf in the masjid during the last ten has tremendous benefits. It is a temporary isolation from the affairs of life and the preoccupations of this world, and a complete turning to ALLĀH, the Most High.
Since the mu'takif is occupied exclusively in the worship of ALLĀH, the Most High, in one of HIS houses, he is prevented from embracing (his wives), having sexual intercourse, kissing or anything like that. Similarly, the mu'takif is prohibited from leaving (the masjid) except for inevitable needs of a human, such as a bath if he becomes sexually impure due to a wet dream or to urinate or defecate if a bathroom is not present in the masjid where he can relieve himself or bathe. He can also go out to bring his food if there is no one to bring it to him.
'A'ishah (may ALLĀH be pleased with her) said: "ALLAH'S Messenger did not enter the house except for a need when he was a mu'takif."
And in another narration: "except for the need of the human being."
As for his leaving for acts of obedience which are not obligatory on him - such as visiting the sick or witnessing a funeral and the likes - then he does not do so, unless he made that a condition at the beginning of his i'tikaf - according to one of the two opinions. And ALLĀH knows best.
The mu'takif should realize the wisdom of i'tikāf, so he spends his time in şalah, reciting the Noble Qur'an and words of remembrance. He should benefit from his time. He can seek knowledge and read books of or Tawhid, tafsir, hadith and other beneficial books. There is no problem if he speaks a little regarding what is permissible with his family someone else if there is a benefit. This is due to the hadith of Şafiyyah who said:
"The Prophet was a mu'takif. I went to visit him at night. I talked with him then I stood up to return (home) so he went with me..." And ALLĀH knows best.

THE PROPHET'S ﷺ TREMENDOUS DU'A
'Abdullāh ibn Mas'ud (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ used to supplicate and would say:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْهُدَى وَالتَّقَى وَالْعَفَافَ وَالْغِنَى
O ALLĀH! I ask YOU for guidance, piety, chastity and self-sufficiency.
Allāhumma inni as'aluka al-hudā wa at-tuqā wa al-'afāfa wa al-ghinā.
{Muslim #2721}
Shaykh 'Abdur-Rahman as-Sa'di (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) explained:
This supplication is from the most comprehensive and beneficial supplications for the Muslim; it includes asking ALLĀH for the good of both the religion and the worldly life. 'Guidance', here, is beneficial knowledge. 'Piety' is righteous actions in addition to abandoning what ALLĀH and HIS Messenger ﷺ prohibited. One's religion becomes rectified with these two things because the religion comprises of beneficial knowledge and true understanding, which is guidance, and establishing obedience to ALLĀH and HIS Messenger ﷺ which is piety.
'Chastity' and 'self-sufficiency' includes not being in need of the creation and not attaching one's heart to them. It also includes being mentally rich with regard to ALLĀH and HIS provision, being content with it. Through this, a person has happiness in the worldly life and a peaceful heart - the good life.
So, whoever has been blessed and provided with guidance, piety, chastity and self-sufficiency attains two types of happiness, the happiness in this world and the hereafter, and they attain everything they desire whilst being saved from everything they dislike.

But when you enter houses, give greetings of Salam upon each other - a greeting from ALLĀH, blessed and good.
Abu Jabir bin Abdullāh said (regarding the above verse): "I do not think it is anything but obligatory."
Mujahid said: "And when you enter the Masjid, say: Peace be upon the Messenger of ALLĀH; When you enter upon your families, greet them with Salam; And when you enter a house in which there is nobody, say: As-Salamu 'Alayna wa 'Ala Ibadillāhis-Salihin (peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of ALLĀH).
This is what one is commanded to do, and it has been narrated to us that the angels will return his greeting."

THE VIRTUE OF SUPPLICATING FOR OTHERS IN THEIR ABSENCE
As Muslims, one of the powerful methods to ensure that our supplications are answered by ALLĀH is to include and remember others in our du'a. This supplication not only benefit the person being supplicated for, but also the person who makes the supplication for them in their absence. Supplicating to ALLĀH on behalf of others in their absence has been mentioned in many authentic ahādith, and it holds numerous virtues.
Umm Darda' reported: My husband reported that he heard ALLĀH'S Messenger ﷺ as saying: "He who supplicates for his brother behind his back (in his absence), the Angel commissioned ˹for carrying supplication to his Lord˺ says: Aamīn, and for you be the like." {Muslim 2732}
Abu Bakr at-Turtushee (may ALLĀH have mercy on him ) said regarding the hadith: "This hadith procures a tremendous point of benefit; because if you are answered in regard to your brother because he is absent from you, then we hope that the Angel will also be answered in regard to you – because you are absent from him." {Ad-Du’aa al-Ma'thoor wa Adābuhu || Page 34}
Sheikh Ibn Baz (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) said: "Therefore if you say: 'O ALLĀH; forgive so and so, O ALLĀH; rectify his heart and his action, O ALLĀH; make his affairs easy for him, O ALLĀH; grant him righteous offspring, a righteous wife, beneficial knowledge.’ You supplicate for your brother with that which you see to be appropriate, and the appointed Angel says: 'Aamīn – and for you be the like of it.'"
This in reality is something which only occurs from those of sound hearts, and is desirous of good, loving good, for indeed it signifies on account of these issues; that which is in their hearts from mildness and love and longing for that which is with ALLĀH and sincere counsel towards the servants of ALLĀH. So he supplicates for himself, and supplicates for his Muslim brothers." {Sharh Riyadhus-Saliheen Sheikh bin Bāz || no. 469}
Therefore, during this blessed month, we should increase the chances of getting our supplications answered by supplicating its like for our brothers and sisters, young, old, sick, oppressed, orphaned, those who have passed away, those looking for jobs, those in debt, those expecting baby, those who are not married, and those seeking kids. Imam an-Nawawee (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) said: "Some of the Salaf, if one of them intended to supplicate for himself; then he would supplicate for his Muslim brother with that supplication, because it is answered, and he attains the like of that." {Sharh Sahih Muslim Vol. 17 Page 51}
This has been the way of the believers, they supplicate for one another, generation after generation, whether they are contemporaries or are from those that come after them, they supplicate for one another – desiring by way of that good for themselves and for their brothers in faith. ALLĀH said:
And those who came after them say: “Our Lord, forgive us and our brethren who preceded us in faith, and put not in our hearts any resentment against those who have believed. Our Lord! YOU are indeed Compassionate and Kind, Merciful." {Al-Hashr: Verse 10}

THE BELIEVERS' SUCCESS AND THE DISBELIEVERS' MISERY
ALLĀH says,
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ الْمُوْمِنُونَ
Successful indeed are the believers. (23:1)
Here, ALLĀH praises and commends HIS believing slaves, highlighting their success and bliss, and the means (mentioned in Qur'an 23: 2-9) by which they attain that. This implicitly urges us to acquire the same characteristics and encourages us to do so. So, the individual should take stock of himself and others, measuring against these standards; thus he will know what he and others have of faith, and the level and extent of that faith.
إِنَّهُ لَا يُفْلِحُ الْكَافِرُونَ
Indeed, the disbelievers will never succeed. (23:117)
Because their disbelief is an obstacle to success.
