5️⃣0️⃣ SAYINGS AND ACTIONS WITH GREAT REWARDS.

3️⃣. Walk to Salatul-Jumu'ah.

Aws bin Aws (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) narrated: "ALLAH'S Messenger (ﷺ) said to me: 'Whoever performs Ghusl on Friday, and bathes completely, and goes early, arriving early, gets close and listens and is silent, there will be for him in every step he take the reward of a year of fasting and standing (in prayer).'" {At-Tirmidhi #496}

Sheikh al-Albānī graded this hadith as authentic in Sahih at-Tirmidhi, hadith no. 410.

Just imagine how much reward will be obtained through doing the actions mentioned in the above hadith and for each step taken towards walking to the Masjid on Jumu'ah. This is one of many, many proofs of ALLĀH's generosity. Indeed, ALLĀH is the Most Generous.

THE COMMAND TO RETURN THE TRUSTS TO WHOMEVER THEY ARE DUE

ALLĀH says;

إِنَّ اللّهَ يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَن تُودُّواْ الَامَانَاتِ إِلَى أَهْلِهَا
Indeed, ALLĀH commands you to return trusts to their rightful owners

ALLĀH commands that the trusts be returned to their rightful owners.

Al-Hasan narrated that Samurah said that the Messenger of ALLĀH ﷺ said,

"Return the trust to those who entrusted you, and do not betray those who betrayed you."

Imam Ahmad and the collectors of Sunan recorded this Hadith.

This command refers to all things that one is expected to look after, such as ALLAH'S rights on HIS servants: praying, Zakah, fasting, penalties for sins, vows and so forth.

The command also includes the rights of the servants on each other, such as what they entrust each other with, including the cases that are not recorded or documented.

ALLĀH commands that all types of trusts be fulfilled. Those who do not implement this command in this life, it will be extracted from them on the Day of Resurrection.

It is recorded in the Sahih that the Messenger of ALLĀH ﷺ said,

"The rights will be rendered back to those to whom they are due, and even the sheep that does not have horns will take revenge from the horned sheep."

THE MEANING OF WORSHIPPING ALLĀH AS IT WERE UPON THE EDGE

ALLĀH says,

وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يَعْبُدُ اللَّهَ عَلَى حَرْفٍ
And among people is he who worships ALLĀH as it were upon the edge
.

That is, among people there are some who are weak in faith; faith has not truly entered their hearts and they have never felt the joy of faith. Rather they entered the religion either out of fear or by way of following a custom, and they cannot be steadfast when faced with trials and tribulations.

فَإِنْ أَصَابَهُ خَيْرٌ اطْمَأَنَّ بِهِ
If good befalls him, he is content with it
;

If provision continues to come easily, and they are not faced with any hardship, they are content with that life of ease, not with their faith. ALLĀH may give them well-being and not put them through trials which could cause them to give up their religion.

وَإِنْ أَصَابَتْهُ فِتْنَةٌ
"but if a trial befalls him" such as being faced with hardship or the loss of someone or something dear to them

انقَلَبَ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ
"he turns back on his face." that is, they apostatise and give up their religion.

خَسِرَ الدُّنْيَا وَالاْخِرَةَ
He loses both this world and the Hereafter.

With regard to this world, this means that they do not get what they hope for by apostatising. The one who made his apostasy his capital, giving up his faith in return for something that he thought he would achieve, will find that his efforts were to no avail and he will not get anything but what is decreed for him. With regard to the hereafter, it is obvious. They will be deprived of paradise which is as vast as the heavens and the earth, and they will deserve hell.

ذَلِكَ هُوَ الْخُسْرَانُ الْمُبِينُ
"That is indeed manifest loss"
that is, clear and obvious loss.

{Tafsi‌r As-Sa'di}

#sadi #Hajj (22:11)

Abu Hurayrah (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) narrated: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Let the slave of Dinar and Dirham, of Quantify and Khamisa perish as he is pleased if these things are given to him, and if not, he is displeased. Let such a person perish and relapse, and if he is pierced with a thorn, let him not find anyone to take it out for him." {Al-Bukhārī #2887}

Suhayb reported: The Messenger ofALLĀH (ﷺ) said: "How wonderful is the affair of the believer! Indeed, all of his affairs are good for him. This is not the case for anyone but the believer. If something good happens to him, he is grateful, which is good for him. And if something bad happens to him, he has patience, which is good for him." {Muslim #2999}

DO NOT HATE A BELIEVING WOMAN

Related by Abu Hurairah(may ALLĀH be pleased with him),

The Prophet ﷺ said: "A believer must not hate (his wife) believing woman; If he finds something in her character he dislikes, he will be pleased by something else." {Muslim}

{Riyadh us-Saliheen: Book 1, Chapter 34, Hadith 275}

COMMENTARY:

The point of reference is that the Prophet ﷺ enjoins adjudicating with justice and fairness. Thus, he (ﷺ) said: 'A believer must not hate a believing woman.' That is, he should not hate her because of her character; if he dislikes something in her personality, he would be pleased with another.

For instance if she did badly in her response to you at an instance, but she has been good to you more than a few times; she acted poorly on a night, but she has always been good on several nights; she failed to take care of the kids but she had done several good acts...and so on.

Thus, whenever your wife acts in an unsatisfactory manner, you should not isolate the current error for consideration; rather, you should look at the past, consider the future, and be just in passing judgement.

The exhortation of the Prophet ﷺ regarding women is relevant with other people who have a form of interaction, friendship or other social dealings with you. So, if he acts poorly to you a day in the year, you should not forget his kind treatment at other times and equate the two. If the kind acts outweigh the offense, the verdict is in favour of kindness. However, if the offense outweighs the kind acts, so consider it; if he is worthy of pardon, pardon him- and whoever pardons and reconciles, his reward is with ALLĀH. But if he does not fit for pardon, claim your right and you are not at fault. But you should watch out for reconciliation.

The summary is that it is necessary for one to be kind to whomever one has dealings with, be it marriage, friendship, business transactions and others. He should always deal with them fairly; if he dislikes a character of his or treat him badly in a dealing, he should consider his good aspect in order to match the two.

SUMMARY OF SĪRAH

SECTION 2⃣

PART 3⃣3⃣: THE PROPHET'S ﷺ ENTRANCE INTO MADĪNAH: HIS STAY; THE LOVE OF THE ANSĀR FOR THE MUHĀJIRŪN; BROTHERHOOD OF ISLĀM.

1⃣. When the Prophet (ﷺ) entered Madīnah, he did not pass by a house of the Ansār except that they asked him to stay with them.¹

2⃣. He stayed with Abū Ayyub al-Ansari (may ALLĀH be pleased with him), in the lower part of the house, so that it would be more convenient for his visitors.

3⃣. The Ansār loved those who migrated to them and preferred them over themselves, to the extent that they competed for the honor of hosting them, resolving the matter by drawing lots. Thus, no Muhājir stayed with an Ansārī except by lot.

4⃣. Then the Prophet (ﷺ) established an Islamic brotherhood among them, which united their hearts and made them as one entity.

1. They were holding the reins of the camel, but he (ﷺ) said, "Leave her, for she is commanded." The camel continued walking until it knelt in front of the house of Abu Ayyub al-Ansārī.

BENEFICIAL POINTS FROM SŪRAH AL-HADĪD, VERSEV13-15

1⃣. Perfect your Wudu.
The believers will be distinguished from the hypocrites by the light attained by virtue of their belief and acts of righteousness, one of which is the perfection of ablution as related by al-Bukhārī (136).

2⃣. Purify your intention.
The hypocrites also engage in good deeds along with the believers deceitfully and ostentatiously, but their deceit will be made apparent to the believers in the Hereafter.

3⃣. The believers are tested.
Whoever professes faith will be tempted and tested within it. True believers remain steadfast, while hypocrites succumb to the tests.

4⃣. Always root for the success of the believers.
One of the characteristics of hypocrites is that they hope for misfortune to befall the believers who adhere to the religious teachings and support disbelievers against them.

5⃣. The doubters are not believers.
The promises and words of ALLĀH are true, as are the authentic narrations of HIS Messenger ﷺ, even when they contradict our intellect.

6⃣. Your Eeman is priceless.
If a soul owned everything in this world twice over, it couldn't ransom itself from torment. The only accepted ransom is belief in ALLĀH accompanied by good deeds.

THIRTEEN STATEMENTS ON THE STATUS OF THE ṢAḤĀBAH (COMPANIONS OF THE PROPHET ﷺ).

1⃣. A Ṣaḥābī (plural Ṣaḥābah, meaning Companion) is one who physically saw (or met) the Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ, believed in him and passed away as a Muslim. – (See: Qāmūs Al-Fiqh Li-Al-Raḥmānī)

Whoever loves them does so on account of their love for me, and whoever shows enmity towards them does so on account of their being hateful to me. Whoever insults them has insulted me and whoever insults me has insulted ALLĀH. Whoever insults ALLĀH, will soon be seized by HIM.” (Tirmidhī)

All praise is for ALLĀH, the Originator of the heavens and the earth, Who made the angels messengers having wings, two, three or four. HE increases in creation whatever HE wills. Indeed, ALLĀH is Able to do all things.

Whatever ALLĀH grants to people of mercy (i.e., good) - none can withhold it; and whatever HE withholds - none can grant it thereafter. And HE is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

O mankind, remember the favor of ALLĀH upon you. Is there any creator other than ALLĀH who provides for you from the heaven and earth? There is none worthy of worship except HIM, so how are you deluded ˹from the truth˺?

THOSE WHO CHANGED RELIGION WILL BE PREVENTED FROM THE PROPHET'S ﷺ LAKE FOUNT

It was narrated that Sahl ibn Sa‘d (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) said:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “I will reach the Lake Fount ahead of you. He who comes to me will drink, and whoever drinks will never thirst again.

There will come to me some people whom I will recognize and they will recognize me, then they will be prevented from reaching me.

I shall say: ‘They are of me,’

But it will be said: ‘You do not know what they introduced after you were gone.’

So I shall say: ‘Away, away with those who changed ˹the religion˺ after I was gone.’”

{Al-Bukhārī #6212 and Muslim #2290}

An-Nawawi (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) said, commenting on the hadith:

This is something concerning which the scholars differed as to what is meant. There are several views, as follows:

1⃣. That it refers to the hypocrites and apostates. They may be gathered (on the Day of Resurrection) with the traces of wudoo’ on their faces and limbs, so the Prophet (ﷺ) will call out to them because of the mark that is on them, but it will be said: These people are not among those concerning whom the promise was given to you, for they changed after you were gone, i.e., they did not die as Muslims although they appeared to be Muslims.

2⃣. That it refers to those who were Muslims at the time of the Prophet (ﷺ), then they apostatised after he was gone, so the Prophet (ﷺ) will call them, even if there is no trace of wudoo’ on them, because he (ﷺ) knew them as Muslims during his lifetime. But it will be said: They apostatised after you were gone.

3⃣. That it refers to people who committed sins, including major sins, but died believing in Tawheed, and followers of innovation (bid'ah) whose innovation did not put them beyond the pale of Islam.

TAWHĪD IS THE MOST TRUSTWORTHY HANDHOLD

ALLĀH'S statement,

Whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in ALLĀH, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And ALLĀH is All-Hearer, All-Knower.

is in reference to, "Whoever shuns the rivals of ALLĀH, the idols, and those that Shaytan calls to be worshipped besides ALLĀH, whoever believes in ALLAH'S Oneness, worships HIM alone and testifies that there is no deity worthy of worship except HIM,

فَقَدِ اسْتَمْسَكَ بِالْعُرْوَةِ الْوُثْقَىَ
then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold.

Therefore, this person will have acquired firmness (in the religion) and proceeded on the correct way and the straight path.

Abu Al-Qasim Al-Baghawi recorded that Umar said: "Jibt means magic, and Taghut means Shaytan. Verily, courage and cowardice are two instincts that appear in men, the courageous fights for those whom he does not know and the coward runs away from defending his own mother. Man's honor resides with his religion and his status is based upon his character, even if he was Persian or Nabatian."

Umar's statement that Taghut is Shaytan is very sound, for this meaning includes every type of evil that the ignorant people of Jahiliyyah (pre Islamic era of ignorance) fell into, such as worshipping idols, referring to them for judgment, and invoking them for victory.

ALLAH'S statement,

فَقَدِ اسْتَمْسَكَ بِالْعُرْوَةِ الْوُثْقَىَ لَا انفِصَامَ لَهَا
then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break,

means, "He will have hold of the true religion with the strongest grasp."

ALLĀH equated this adherence to the firm handhold that never breaks because it is built solid and because its handle is firmly connected. This is why ALLĀH said here,

فَقَدِ اسْتَمْسَكَ بِالْعُرْوَةِ الْوُثْقَىَ لَا انفِصَامَ لَهَا
then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break.

Mujahid said: "The most trustworthy handhold is Iman (faith)."

As-Suddi said that; "it refers to Islam."

Imam Ahmad recorded that Qays bin Abbad said,

"I was in the Masjid when a man whose face showed signs of humbleness came and prayed two Rakahs that were modest in length. The people said, This is a man from among the people of Paradise.' When he left, I followed him until he entered his house, and I entered it after him and spoke with him. When he felt at ease, I said to him, When you entered the Masjid, the people said such and such things.'

He said,
All praise is due to ALLĀH! No one should say what he has no knowledge of. I will tell you why they said that.

I saw a vision during the time of the Messenger of ALLĀH, and I narrated it to him. I saw that I was in a green garden, and he described the garden's plants and spaciousness, and there was an iron pole in the middle of the garden affixed in the earth and its tip reached the sky. On its tip, there was a handle, and I was told to ascend the pole. I said, I cannot.' Then a helper came and raised my robe from behind and said to me, Ascend.' I ascended until I grasped the handle and he said to me, Hold on to the handle.' I awoke from that dream with the handle in my hand.

I went to the Messenger of ALLĀH and told him about the vision and he ﷺ said,

As for the garden, it represents Islam; as for the pole, it represents the pillar of Islam; and the handle represents the most trustworthy handhold. You shall remain Muslim until you die.

This Companion was Abdullah bin Salam."

This Hadith was also collected in the Two Sahihs; and Al-Bukhari also recorded it with another chain of narration.

THE MANNERS OF LOOKING AT ONE'S FIANCÉ

Islamic Law has allowed a suitor to look at his fiancé and has allowed the fiance to do the same with her suitor, in order that each of them may be enlightened in choosing his life partner. This stems from the saying of ALLĀH'S Prophet (ﷺ) as narrated by Muslim quoting Ibn Shu'bah: "Look at her since this may cause permanency between you" i.e. it may implant cordiality and familiarity. However, such looking has certain manners which a suitor must abide by:

1⃣. The suitor should not look except at the face and the hands after he plans to marry her.

2⃣. He may look repeatedly if necessary so that her physical image may be imprinted in his mind.

3⃣. He may talk to her and she may talk to him as he asks for her hand.

4⃣. It is still not permissible to shake hands with the fiancé because she is not yet related to him, before concluding the marriage contract. This is according to what Al-Bukhârî (5288) said quoting 'Aishah (may ALLĀH be pleased with her) as saying, "The hand of the Prophet (ﷺ) has never touched the hand of a woman during taking the pledge, which was done orally."

5⃣. They cannot meet except in the presence of a related man of the fiancé's, according to what Al-Bukharî (1862) and Muslim (1341) quoted the Prophet (ﷺ) as saying, "No man is ever allowed to meet with a woman in seclusion, and no woman is ever allowed to travel except accompanied by a man prohibited to her."

We must point out the common practice of the suitor and his fiancé meeting each other under the pretext that they have to know each other better, is prohibited in Islam rejects and prohibits this practice because it contradicts the most basic principles of virtue and morality, and the damage it causes to the reputation of the girl more than it does to that of the suitor. This reputation makes people completely refuse to ask for her hand (i.e., in case her suitor does not marry her). Moreover, this sinful mixing does not achieve its purpose because of the pretence which characterizes their behavior towards each other.

TREATMENT IN THE OPENING CHAPTER OF THE QUR'AN (AL-FATIḤAH)

Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) said:

It has been authentically reported in the Saḥihs of al-Bukhari and Muslim, on the authority of Abu Sa'id who said:

Some of the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ went on a journey till they reached some of the 'Arab tribes (at night). They asked the latter to treat them as their guests, but they refused.

The chief of that tribe was then bitten by a snake (or stung by a scorpion) and they tried their best to cure him but in vain. Some of them said, "Nothing has benefited him, will you go to the visitors who resided here at night, it may be that some of them possess something (as treatment)."

They went to the group of the Companions and said, "Our chief has been bitten by a snake (or stung by a scorpion) and we have tried everything, but it has not benefited. Have you got anything (useful)?"

One of them replied, "Yes, by ALLĀH! I can recite a Ruqyah, but as you have refused to accept us as your guests, I will not recite the Ruqyah for you unless you fix for us some wages for it."

They agreed to pay them a flock of sheep. One of them then went and recited the opening chapter (Suratul-Fatiḥah): 'All the praises are for the Lord of the Worlds' and puffed over the chief who became sound as a result, as if he was released from shackles and got up and started walking, showing no signs of sickness. They paid them what they agreed to pay.

Some of the Companions then suggested dividing their earnings among themselves, but the one who performed the recitation said, "Do not divide them till we go to the Prophet ﷺ and narrate the whole story to him and wait for his order."

So, they went to ALLAH'S Messenger (ﷺ) and narrated the story. ALLAH'S Messenger ﷺ asked, “How did you come to know that Suratul- Fatiḥah was recited as Ruqyah?” Then he added, “You have done the right thing. Divide what you have earned and assign a share for me as well."

As it is evident, this remedy had an effect on this illness and eradicated it as if it never existed. It is the easiest remedy and the least exhausting. If a servant refines the treatment through the opening chapter, he will find it having an amazing effect as a remedy.

I spent some time in the city of Makkah whilst frequently experiencing illness that I could not find a doctor for nor a remedy, so I would treat myself with the opening chapter of the Qur’an, and I would find that it had an amazing effect. So I would prescribe this to those who complain of an ailment and many of them would be swiftly cured.

And they say: Glory be to our Lord! Truly, the Promise of our Lord must be fulfilled.

INVOCATION OF PEACE AND BLESSINGS UPON THE PROPHET ﷺ IN ABUNDANCE ON FRIDAY

Aus ibn Aus reports that the Prophet ﷺ said: "The most virtuous of your days is Jumu'ah. On that day, Adam was created and on that day he died, (on that day) the horn will be blown and the people will be dumbfounded! Increase your prayers upon me as your prayers upon me will be presented to me." The people said: "O Messenger of ALLĀH, how will our prayers be presented to you when you have passed away?" He said: "ALLĀH has prohibited the earth from eating the bodies of the Prophets."

{This is related by the five, except for al-Tirmidhi}

Ibn al-Qayyim (May ALLĀH have mercy on him) says:

"It is preferred to pray to ALLĀH to send blessings on the Prophet ﷺ during the day and night of Jumuah, as the Prophet ﷺ said, 'Invoke many prayers upon me during the day and night of Friday.'

"The Messenger of ALLĀH ﷺ is the leader of mankind, and Jumu'ah is the best of the days of the week. Prayers upon him during that day are a privilege (he deserves), which belongs to no one other than him.

"This act also has another wisdom, and that is that all of the good that has passed onto this Ummah, in this life and the Hereafter, has passed through him. ALLĀH has gathered the good of this life and the next life for this Ummah, and the greatest honor and success will be granted to them on Friday. On that day, they will be granted their houses and palaces in Paradise and that is the day they will be given more when they enter Paradise. It is a day of celebration for them in this life. It is also a day in which ALLĀH fulfills their needs and answers their prayers and requests in this world. They are aware of all of that and are able to attain it because of the Prophet ﷺ and it is through him (that they received these teachings); therefore, in gratitude and appreciation for the great blessings we received through him, we should send many prayers upon him during the day and night of Jumuʿah."

{Fiqh-us-Sunnah || 2/126}

May ALLĀH fill our hearts with love of His beloved Prophet ﷺ.  May HE inspire our tongues to send much blessings on him ﷺ and guide us to lead our lives in accordance to his exalted and noble Sunnah.

5️⃣0️⃣ SAYINGS AND ACTIONS WITH GREAT REWARDS.

2️⃣. Reciting Ten Verses of the Qur'an at Night.

It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of ALLĀH (ﷺ) said: "Whoever recites ten verses at night will not be recorded as one of the heedless."

{al-Ḥākim in al-Mustadrak, 1/742}

ALLĀH says:

And remember your Lord within yourself in humility and in fear without being apparent in speech - in the mornings and the evenings. And do not be among the heedless.
{Al-A’raf: Verse 205}

Al-Nawawi (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) said: "Reciting Qur'an is the most important of adhkār, which should be done regularly. No day or night should be without it and it may be attained by reciting a few verses."

There are numerous surahs and verses that we can recite at night, and the virtue of their recitation has been mentioned in various narrations.

May ALLĀH not make us among the heedless.

On the Day when the hypocrites - men and women - will say to the believers: Wait for us! Let us get something from your light! It will be said: Go back to your rear! Then seek a light! So a wall will be put up between them, with a gate therein. Inside it will be mercy, and outside it will be torment.

˹The hypocrites˺ will call the believers: Were we not with you? The believers will reply: Yes! But you led yourselves into temptations, you looked forward for our destruction; you doubted ˹in Faith˺ and you were deceived by false desires, till the Command of ALLĀH came to pass. And the chief deceiver (Satan) deceived you in respect of ALLĀH.

So today no ransom will be taken from you or from those who disbelieved. Your abode is the Fire. That is your maulâ (friend - proper place), and worst indeed is that destination.

BEIGN PLEASED WITH ALLĀH'S DECREE AS IT UNFOLDS

It is authentically reported on the authority of Abu Hurairah (may ALLĀH be pleased with) that the Messenger of ALLĀH (ﷺ) said: "Seek what benefits you, and seek help only from ALLĀH and do not lose heart. If any adversity comes to you, do not say: "If I had only acted in such-and-such a way, it would have been such-and-such;" but instead, say:

قَدَرُ اللّٰهِ، وَمَا شَاءَ فَعَلَ
(It is the Decree of ALLĀH and He does whatever HE wills.)

for verily, ˹the word˺ "if" opens the way for the work of Satan."

{Sunan Ibn Majah #79}

Because Islam calls mankind to that which leads to success, prosperity and betterment of society, ALLAH'S Messenger(ﷺ) commanded the Muslims to take part in jihad in ALLAH'S cause; and in order that they might attain the aforementioned blessings - in this life and the Hereafter - he ordered them to accept calamities - which are all from ALLAH'S Qadr with equanimity, and not to become depressed or open the outcome;" for to do so will lead to anger and despair, and these are the works of the devil. Instead he guided them to that which is better and more worthy, which is to say: "ALLĀH (ﷺ) has decreed ˹it˺ and what HE willed HE has done."

BENEFITS DERIVED FROM THIS HADITH

1⃣. That undertaking the necessary precautions in order to achieve one's objectives does not conflict with Tawhīd.

2⃣. That man has a measure of free will and is not driven helplessly by events.

3⃣. That despair conflicts with seeking help from ALLĀH.

4⃣. The forbiddance of seeking help from other than ALLĀH in those matters over which they have no control.

5⃣. That Islam encourages the Muslim to work and be productive.

6⃣. The prohibition of rejecting ALLĀH'S Qadr.

7⃣. That good and evil are ordained by ALLĀH.

8⃣. Confirmation of ALLAH'S Divine Attribute of Will in a manner befitting HIS Majesty.

9⃣. Confirmation of ALLĀH'S Divine Attribute of Action.

1⃣0⃣. That belief in ALLĀH'S Qadr is a cure for what ails the heart and leads to mental peace and stability.

FORBIDDING MURDER AND SUICIDE

ALLAH said,

﴿وَلاَ تَقْتُلُواْ أَنفُسَكُمْ﴾
And do not kill yourselves.

That is, do not kill one another, and no one should kill himself. This includes throwing oneself into risky activities or dangers that may lead to harm or death.

﴿إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ بِكُمْ رَحِيماً﴾
Surely, ALLAH is Most Merciful to you.

By HIS mercy HE protects you and your wealth, forbids you to waste it or destroy it, and HE has ordained consequences for that in the form of hudood punishments.

{Tafsir As-Sa'di}

#sadi #nisa (4:29)

Abu Hurayrah said that the Messenger of ALLAH, peace and blessings be upon him, said,

"Whoever kills himself with an iron tool, then his tool will be in his hand and he will keep stabbing himself with it in the Fire of Jahannam, forever and ever.

Whoever kills himself with poison, then his poison will be in his hand and he will keep taking it in the Fire of Jahannam forever and ever.

Whoever kills himself by throwing himself from a mountain, will keep falling in the Fire of Jahannam forever and ever."

{al-Bukhari #5442, Muslim #109}

Jundub reported: The Messenger of ALLAH, peace and blessings be upon him, said,

“A man among those before you was wounded. He was in such anguish that he took a knife, slit his wrist, and let the blood flow until he died. ALLAH Almighty said: MY servant has preceded me with his soul, so I have forbidden Paradise for him.”

BENEFICIAL POINTS FROM SŪRAH AL-FĀTIR, VERSE 1-3.

1⃣. The creation of the heavens and the earth, along with their subjugation for the benefit of humanity, necessitates gratitude and praise for the Creator.

2⃣. ALLĀH created the angels with varying numbers of wings—two, three, four, or more. According to the hadith, Jibril (peace be upon him) possesses 600 wings.

3⃣. Angels are the servants and messengers of ALLĀH, not HIS daughters as some claim.

4⃣. Belief in angels is a pillar of faith; without it, one's faith is incomplete.

5⃣. Mankind is called to worship ALLĀH alone, as HE alone is deserving of worship, being the Creator and Provider.

6⃣. It is an obligation and also a sign of wisdom that an individual relies on ALLĀH and seeks from HIM alone, as no one can benefit or harm another except by HIS leave.

THE DISBELIEVERS ARE PUNISHED IN WAYS THEY DO NOT PRESUME

ALLAH said:

فَذَرْنِي وَمَن يُكَذِّبُ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ
So leave to ME those who reject this message

meaning, the Qur'an.

This is a sever threat which means, `leave ME alone with this person; I know about him and how I will gradually punish him and increase him in his falsehood. I am giving him respite for a while, then I will seize him with a mighty and powerful punishment.'

Thus, ALLĀH says,

سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُم مِّنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
WE will gradually draw them to destruction in ways they cannot comprehend.

meaning, and they will not even be aware of it. Rather, they will believe that it is a noble blessing from ALLĀH, but really the same matter is actually a form of humiliation (for them).

This is similar to ALLĀH'S statement,

So, when they forgot that which they had been reminded, We opened for them the gates of everything, until in the midst of their enjoyment in that which they were given, all of a sudden, WE punished them, and lo! They were plunged into destruction with deep regrets and sorrows. {al-An'am: Verse 44}

{Tafsi‌r Ibn Kathīr}

#ibnkathir #haqqah (68:44)

Al-Hasan Al-Basri said,

"Whomever ALLĀH gives provision and he thinks that ALLĀH is not testing him, has no wisdom. Whomever has little provision and thinks that ALLĀH will not look at (provide for) him, has no wisdom."

THE EVIL DANGERS OF BID'AH (INNOVATION IN THE RELIGION)

Bid'ah indicates evil dangers:

1⃣. It indicates a belying of the saying of ALLĀH:

ٱلۡيَوۡمَ أَكۡمَلۡتُ لَكُمۡ دِينَكُمۡ
“This day I have perfected your religion for you.”
{Al-Maa’idah 5:3}

Because when somebody comes with an innovation and considers it as a form of religion; its implication is that the religion is not perfect.

2⃣. It indicates a defamation of the Sharee’ah, and that it is imperfect, so this innovator is the one who makes it perfect with his act of innovation.

3⃣. It indicates a defamation of the Muslims, who do not practice this innovation; so, those people who lived before this innovation; their religion is incomplete – this is a grave danger!

4⃣. Among the implications of this innovation is that what prevails is that whoever is occupied with an innovation, he would be distracted from a Sunnāh, as some of the Salaf said: “People will not innovate an innovation, except that they will demolish its like from the Sunnāh.”

5⃣. These innovations lead to separations in the Ummāh, because these innovators believe that they are the upholders of the truth, and that the others are misguided! And people of the truth say: “You are the ones upon misguidance.” So, their hearts separate.

All of these grave evils result from an innovation because it is an innovation, in addition to the fact that this innovation is accompanied by foolishness in one’s reason, and an imbalance in religion.

SUMMARY OF SĪRAH

SECTION 2⃣

PART 3⃣2⃣: ARRIVAL IN MADĪNAH: THE FIRST JUMU'AH IN ISLAM; THE FIRST SERMON IN ISLĀM

1⃣. When the Prophet (ﷺ) left Qubā heading towards Madīnah, he was surrounded by the Ansār, who were carrying their swords, rejoicing and delighted.

2⃣. As Jumu'ah (Friday) came upon him on the way, he performed the Jumu'ah prayer with the Muslims who were with him. This was the first Jumu'ah prayer, and its sermon was the first sermon in Islām.

3⃣. The people of Madīnah came out to meet him, accompanied by women, children, and maidservants, who were saying (what means):

"The full moon has risen upon us, from Thaniyyat al-Wada‘ (lit. the mountain pass of farewell).

We must give thanks, every time the caller calls to ALLĀH.

O you who were sent among us, you have come with a matter to be obeyed."

O mankind, worship your Lord (ALLĀH), who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous.

˹HE is the One˺ Who has made the earth a place of settlement for you and the sky a canopy; and sends down rain from the sky, causing fruits to grow as a provision for you. Then do not set up rivals unto ALLĀH ˹in worship˺ while you know ˹that HE Alone has the right to be worshipped˺.

And if you (Arab pagans, Jews, and Christians) are in doubt concerning that which WE have sent down (i.e. the Qur’ân) to OUR slave (Muhammad), then produce a Sūrah like it and call your witnesses (supporters and helpers) besides ALLĀH, if you are truthful.

But if you are unable to do so—and you will never be able to do so—then fear the Fire fuelled with people and stones, which is prepared for the disbelievers.
