Do you know you have the power to change things in your country? Yes you do! You received this power the moment you received the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8). You don’t have to be the president or governor to change things around you; you can make changes from where you are through prayer.
The Bible tells us about the Prophet Elijah who was just like any of us. He prayed for his nation, and caused changes through his prayers (James 5:16-18). Hallelujah!
Today, you have in you something much more than what Elijah had: you have the Holy Spirit living in you. Therefore, put His power which is in you to work today, and make your country better through your prayers.

As God’s child, your words aren’t ordinary; they’re anointed with power. Whatever you say in faith will come to pass. This is why you can’t be a victim in life.
The Lord Jesus, while on earth, lived in victory and dominion over everything He faced with His Words. He lives in you today through the Holy Spirit. Isn’t that amazing? Yes, it is!
So, refuse to be a victim; rather, take charge of the situations around you with your faith-filled words, and change things you don’t want. Hallelujah!

Habits are formed over a period of time. For example, it’s a habit to brush your teeth every morning before going to school. In the same way, you should make a habit of praying. The Lord Jesus said, “…men always ought to pray…” (Luke 18:1). In other words, make it a habit to pray often.
Prayer is fellowship with God, where you’re talking to and with Him. It’s during such times that God guides you through His Word.
As a ministry, we have several prayer programs; ask your parents and guardians how you can be a part of them.

Refuse to be weighed down by what may have happened yesterday; it’s gone with yesterday. Today is a beautiful new day, and it’s God’s gift to you. Therefore, make the best of it by spreading God’s love and joy through soul-winning.

Also, make it a habit to keep your surroundings clean and speak kindly to people, especially the elderly. This shows you’re different and excellent.

God’s Word is powerful enough to bring anyone out of any situation, no matter how difficult it seems. The Word made old Abraham a father; barren Sarah a mother; Joseph, a Prime Minister; David, a teenager, a king; a timid Peter a leader, and so on. The Word can do so much more for you.
Therefore, go for the Word through diligent study and meditation, just like you’re doing now reading your devotional. As you do, it’ll get into your spirit and make you all it talks about. Hallelujah!

The Bible is full of examples of God’s children who went through tough situations but never gave up.
Therefore, whenever you’re faced with a difficult situation, don’t give up. Why? The reason is that the Greater One lives in you. That means no situation is too difficult for you to handle. Moreover, the Bible has declared that in all these things, you’re more than conquerors (Romans 8:37).
So, be full of courage in the face of any challenge, “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory” (2 Corinthians 4:17).

Every time God’s Word comes to you, either as you’re studying your devotional or in church, it shows you the image of who you are, and all you are in Christ. This comes to you in pictures. Remember, the Word is a mirror (2 Corinthians 3:18), so each time you study it, you see a picture of who you really are.
As much as it’s important to study the Word diligently and often, you’ve also got to declare what you see from the Word. The Bible says you shall have whatever you say (Mark 11:23). So, as you see the image of you in the Word, talk about it!

Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were taken away from their home to Babylon. While there, they were trained along with other young men from different nations. When it was time to present them to the king, the king observed that they were ten times better and more excellent than all the other young men. What made the difference? The Holy Spirit!
If you’ve received the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8), His presence in you makes you special and excellent; He makes all the difference. Learn to fellowship with Him every day as you pray in other tongues often. Also, pay attention to His leading and guidance.

One day, prophet Elisha and his servant woke up to find they were surrounded by their enemies. But Elisha told his frightened servant not to fear because, they that were with them were more than those against them. Then, God opened the eyes of his servant; he saw that Elisha was surrounded and protected by chariots of fire and angels from God.
Refuse to be afraid or intimidated by anything, even if it’s a difficult subject at school. Don’t let anything or anyone scare you. The greater one lives in you (1 John 4:4), and you’re more than a conqueror.
So, see that difficult subject, task or whatever challenge you face as bread; just eat them up as you declare faith-filled words! Hallelujah!

In school, everyone has a part to play. It’s the janitor’s role to clean the surroundings. It might seem like a small job, but no one wants to sit in a dirty class or stinky environment. That shows just how important the janitor’s role is.
Every child of God has a role to play in spreading the Gospel all over the world. When we do our part by preaching the Gospel everywhere, we’re making it possible for, “…the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord…” (Habakkuk 2:14) and thereby making the return of our Lord Jesus for the Church right on time (Matthew 24:14)!

A lot of people worry and afraid about their future. They have doubts about tomorrow. As God’s child, you shouldn’t be this way. According to today’s opening scripture, God has great plans for your future! It’s all laid out in His Word.
God has already declared in His Word that it can only get better and brighter for you with each day (Proverbs 4:18). Therefore, everything about your future is already perfected.
So, don’t let what anyone says to you or what you see on TV get you disturbed about your future, for it can only be better and brighter! Glory to His Name forever!

As God’s child, inside you are wells. I’m not talking about a physical well people draw water from; this well is in your spirit. This is what the Bible refers to as, “…the wells of salvation” in our opening scripture.
So, right in your spirit are all the good things of the kingdom of God. That means joy, success, health, progress, love, peace and all the blessings of the new creation are in your spirit. Isn’t that great?
Therefore, draw from the wells of salvation in your spirit as you speak them forth every day, letting them flow out to others.

The Lord Jesus, while on earth, was full of compassion and kindness. He never turned away anyone in need, and there was no one He didn’t show kindness to.
As God’s children, we have the ability to be compassionate, gracious and kind. Through the Holy Spirit, God’s liquid love has been shed abroad in our hearts (Romans 5:5).
Like the Lord Jesus, let the love of God in you flow freely as you show kindness and compassion to those in need of it today.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE EVENTS OF THE LAST DAYS - Part 5
I’m sure you’ve been learning a lot from God’s Word in our special series on “What You Need To Know About The Events of The Last Days.” In this edition, you’ll learn about “The Second Coming Of Christ.” Sure, you’re ready; let’s see it!
The Second Coming Of Christ: 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12; Matthew 24:21-29; Revelation 19:11- 14; Revelation 22:20.
Many Christians mix up the Rapture of the Church with the Second Coming of Christ. However, there’s a great difference between them. The Second Coming of Christ will happen at the end of the seven years of The Great Tribulation. Remember, the Rapture of the Church would have taken place before the Great.
Tribulation. So, the Rapture of the Church isn’t the Second Coming of Christ! The following are some biblical facts you need to know about the Second Coming of Christ, which also differentiate it from the Rapture of the Church.
1. The Second Coming of Christ will mark the end of the great tribulation (Matthew 24:29).
2. Unlike the Rapture of the Church, the whole world will see Jesus Christ return at His Second Coming (Revelation 1:7).
3. At the Second Coming, the Lord Jesus Christ will be in the air for a whole day (Revelation 1:7; Colossians 3:4).
4. The Lord Jesus Christ will return with all His saints and angels at His Second Coming (1 Thessalonians 3:13; Matthew 16:27).
5. The Lord Jesus Christ will return to judge the sinners and the wicked people in the world at His Second Coming (Revelation 19:11-14; Acts 2:19-20).

Every time you study or you’re taught the Word, you’re really looking into the mirror of God. The image you see in the mirror is who you really are.
For example, the Word says “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us” (Romans 8:37). It means no matter what comes your way, you shouldn’t fret because you’re already a victor. Glory to God.
There’s so much in the Word of God about your new identity in Christ. Therefore, study it diligently and meditate on what it says.

Life is full of choices. From when you wake up in the morning till you go to bed at night, each day presents you with choices.
Each choice you make is important. For example, being born again is an important choice we all made. This choice separated you to a life of glory and blessing.
Now that you’ve received this beautiful life in Christ, it’s your choice to live according to the Word. Therefore, choose to keep studying God’s Word, and paying attention to His guidance. That’s what it takes to make the right choices always.

Today’s opening scripture was God’s promise to Abraham. This promise was fulfilled, and as the seed of Abraham, you’re a partaker of it too. That means you’re a blessing, and a distributor of His blessings (Romans 4:16).
Remember Joseph; he was a carrier and distributor of God’s blessing even as a slave in Potiphar’s house (Genesis 39:5).
So, refuse to look down on yourself; you’re a distributor of God’s blessings. And because of you, your family, school, nation, and everything around you is blessed.

Last Sunday, we learnt about the wells of salvation in you. Like every well, you need to keep yours from getting blocked with dirt. In Old Testament Bible days, it was very common for the enemies of God’s children to clog up their wells and stop them from getting water (Genesis 26:15,18).
Like the enemies clogged up wells, the devil tries to clog up the wells of salvation in God’s people through bitterness, lying and bad habits. You mustn’t let this happen to you. How? It’s by staying in God’s Word through constant meditation and praying in other tongues. This is how to keep your wells clean all the time.

It would be a strange sight to see an orange tree with mango fruits growing on it. Won’t it? Sure, it will. Because oranges grow on orange trees and mangoes on mango trees.
Just as you would only find mango fruits on mango trees, only fruits of righteousness should be found in you as God’s child. What’s more, you’ve been anointed to produce fruits of peace, love, joy, kindness and excellence for they’re what you have in your spirit!
Remember, you are “…trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD…” (Isaiah 61:3). So, be known for the righteous fruits you produce everywhere you go.

As God’s child, you’re different from the rest of the world. Though, outwardly, you might look like others, but you’re unique! The Bible says God has, “…called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9).
Therefore, refuse to behave like everyone else; be unique. Don’t join in an activity because it is popular with everyone. If it’s wrong, don’t join them to do it.
Remember you’re unique, you’ve been called to show them the better way through the Word of God. Reach out to those around you with the love of God, as you invite them to receive Jesus using the prayer of salvation on page 48.

So, start out today to reach out to someone with the good news of salvation. It’s the most important thing to God. This is His number one job, and should be your priority too.

Isn’t it amazing that not only does God ask us to do things, He gives us the ability to do them too. Imagine being asked to do something you couldn’t do. I’m sure you won’t be very excited about it. But God isn’t that way; He makes you willing, and gives you the ability to do the tasks and assignments He’s given you to do (Philippians 2:13).
So, be excited at the assignment the Lord has given to you to do. Spend more time in fellowship with the Word, and you’ll find yourself doing all God wants you to without difficulty, and living in His perfect will for you.
