You should never believe anything from the devil. The Bible says, “…he’s a liar and the father of it” (John 8:44).
He has deceived many to think he’s got power but it’s not true. All he has are deceits and tricks (Ephesians 6:11). Therefore, if you know the Word, you won’t give in to his deceits and tricks.
So, spend time each day with the Word, studying and meditating on it. It will reveal to you the truth of all your blessings in Christ, and how to enjoy them.

As God’s child, you’ve been called into a life of triumph, where you win all the time. It’s like being in a race where you always win, no matter who your competitors are or how tough the race seems.
Apostle Paul understood this truth, which is why he boldly declared in Romans 8:37, “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” This means that no matter the situation or challenge, your victory is certain.
Therefore, “…count it all joy when you fall into various trials” (James 1:2), because you’re coming out on top as a victor! Glory to God!

Today’s opening scripture are the Words of our Lord Jesus. They’re such comforting and refreshing words. He’s telling you today that He’s given you His peace and there’s no need for you to be worried, troubled or afraid anymore.
Is something bothering you or someone you know? Read the scripture out loud to yourself, and share it with that friend who may be troubled.
Remember, Jesus has given you His peace; the peace that’s from heaven (Philippians 4:7). It’s the peace that keeps you safe, and causes you to excel in all you do no matter what’s happening around you.

The start of a New Year is a good time to make plans to be more excellent in everything, including your academics. As God's child, you've got an excellent spirit; that means it's possible to be excellent in all your subjects at school.
Remember Daniel? He had an excellent spirit and developed an excellent character, which stood him out in all he did (Daniel 6:3).
Like Daniel, be known for your godly character and excellent academic records. Do everything diligently and carefully. Spend time to study your notes before classes and do your assignments too.

People who never liked being corrected always end up in a lot of troubles (Proverbs 22:3). They’re hardly successful in anything or task.
Saul is an example of someone who disobeyed an instruction from the Lord. God wasn’t happy with him (1 Samuel 15:12-23). Don’t be like that.
Learn to listen to, and act on the instructions that come from the Lord. That’s where your promotion lies.

Fasting is more than just staying away from food; that’s just a part of it. It actually is an act of worship to the Lord. It’s a time to focus on the Lord, studying His Word and praying. At such times, you stay away from everything that could distract you from Him.
When you fast, your spirit becomes more sensitive to what the Lord is saying to you. So, I encourage you to take fasting with prayer more seriously and make sure to participate in your local church fasting and prayer programs, especially as the year comes to an end.

Though the tongue is small, it is a very vital organ in your body. And do you know that your tongue could put you into trouble if it isn’t used right?
As God’s child, you need the help of the Holy Spirit to control your tongue and be able to use it right. He’ll always guide you to speak the right words full of grace and blessings.
How? When you study and spend time with God’s Word, your tongue will be yielded to the Holy Spirit. That way, you won’t talk carelessly and foolishly.

God has a special gift for everyone. Guess what? It’s the gift of eternal life. It’s the special gift the Lord Jesus brought to us all. It’s a life that’s greater than sickness and death. It’s a life of victory and success. The moment you received the Lord Jesus, you also received eternal life.
So, share this wonderful gift with someone today by winning them to Jesus, making them a partaker of God’s gift to mankind!

Daniel kept good friends, and they were of great help to him. When he needed help, he told his friends to pray with him; because they did, they got the solution he needed. What great friends Daniel had!
As God’s child, it’s important you have the right friends. So, keep friends that will encourage you to take your studies seriously, and inspire you in the things of God.

It is possible for you to wrong others as you relate with them. You may upset them either by what you say or do. It’s even possible that you did it unknowingly.
If this happens, you should be humble to admit you’re wrong and apologise. It’s a virtue you should show as God’s child. It’s the right thing to do.
The fact that you’re the first to apologise doesn’t mean you’re small or weak. It only shows that you’re gentle and humble as God’s Word wants you to be.

Whenever the Lord does something for you, no matter how small it may seem, tell everyone about it.
There was a woman in the Bible. She had an issue of blood and had suffered from it for a long time. But when she touched the hem of Jesus’ garment, she was healed. She was almost sneaking away, but Jesus made sure she testified of her miracle to the whole crowd.
Every time you talk about your miracle, you stir up faith in others to receive theirs too. So don’t keep quiet about what the Lord has done for you. Tell someone about His goodness today

The Name of Jesus is the name above all other names. Whether it’s failure, a headache, body pains, fever or even the flu; there’s a name greater than all these names, and that’s the name of ‘Jesus’! That’s why Peter could use the Name of Jesus to heal the lame man at the temple gate (Acts 3:1-10).
There’s power in the Name of Jesus! So, use it over your body, and family. Enjoy the miracle working power in the Name of Jesus every day as you declare it in faith!

It’s possible to get upset over something or someone. But, if that happens, you shouldn’t let that anger control you by making you say or do unkind things.
The Bible says, “Don’t be quick to get angry, because anger is typical of fools” (Ecclesiastes 7:9 GW). No one likes to hang around angry people because they hurt others with their words or actions.
Remember our Lord Jesus, He wasn’t angry at those who put Him on the cross; rather He forgave them. So, like the Lord Jesus, choose to be full of compassion, and forgive easily

An anchor is a very heavy metal object. It’s found in ships and it’s used to hold the ship in place when it’s docked. Though an anchor is much smaller than a ship in size, it’s able to hold the mighty ship in place!
God’s Word is your life’s anchor. It’s able to keep you successful, healthy and strong.
So, hold on to the Word; study, meditate and act on it. It is strong enough to take you through life, and make you a success. Glory to God!

As Christians, we aren’t quiet people; we’re a talking race. We’re bold and always speaking the Word everywhere.
As God’s child, this should be your life too. You should be bold to say what God’s Word says about you. The more you say what it says about you, the more your life becomes what the Word talks about.
So, don’t keep quiet; rather, keep saying it. Don’t stop talking it! Declare out loud right where you are, “I’m the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus! I can do all things through Christ! I’m a victor and an overcomer!” That’s your life: keep talking! Glory!

In the Old Testament, Jubilee was a special time of rest for the children of Israel. It was a time when every debt was forgiven, slaves were freed, the hungry were fed, and it was a time of celebration for everyone.
For you, Christ is your jubilee. Your real Jubilee began when you were born again. You’ve entered into the rest of God, and into a time of unending celebration.
So, you see why everyday should be joyful and exciting for you? You don’t have to wait for a special day to celebrate. Everyday should be for celebration because you have come into God’s rest! Hallelujah!

Therefore, spend time fellowshipping with the Word and the Holy Spirit each day. Also, observe a healthy lifestyle always. This is how to be in health.

Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. James 5:17

Today’s memory verse is from the story of Elijah. Elijah prayed that it wouldn’t rain in the city of Jezreel and it didn’t for three and a half years. Then, he prayed again for the rain to come and it rained. Wow! Elijah changed the situation through his prayers.
Like Elijah, you too can effect changes through prayer. So, refuse to complain over any situation no matter how difficult it may seem. You have the power to change situations through your prayers.
So, make that change now by speaking faith-filled words over any situation you don’t want.

God expects you as His child to respect those older than you. That is exactly what today’s memory verse is saying. Do you know that greeting is one way to respect elders? In fact, the way you greet people says a lot about you and the kind of training you’ve received.
Every time you meet the elderly, you should greet them properly. When you greet, do so with respect. Also, you should show respect to those who are older by not talking back to them or being rude. Remember you’re an excellent child, so, let excellence be seen in you as you learn to show respect to the elderly everywhere you go.

The moment you were born again, you have love because God is love. But it doesn’t end there, you must make up your mind to let the love in your heart be seen and felt by those around you.
Let His love control everything about you: your actions, responses and words. Be that child who’s always ready to be of help and go the extra mile. Be known for your acts of kindness and love.
When you live this way those around you will know you’re different and be drawn to you, and this is a great opportunity to reach out to them with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus.

Christmas time is one of the most wonderful times of the year. Aside from the lovely cakes, treats and presents, it’s a time to celebrate!
You’re celebrating the victory of the birth of our Lord Jesus. You’re celebrating the reason He was born which was to give you victory over death, sin, sickness, disease and the devil! You’re celebrating the life of victory you received through Jesus.
So, you see, there’s a lot to celebrate during Christmas. Tell everyone about Jesus, for He’s worth celebrating!

Each day begins with newness and freshness; that’s how God’s mercy is. And what’s more wonderful is that it never comes to an end. It goes on forever. Glory to God!
Like the Psalmist, be conscious of the unending goodness, faithfulness, loving kindness, grace and mercy of the Lord.
And what’s more? Always say to yourself that “surely goodness and mercy follow me everywhere” and take out some time today to thank Him for His unending mercy to you. Hallelujah!

As God’s child, you don’t need to wear a long face when you’re confronted with difficult situations.
When David fought Goliath, he knew he wasn’t alone and that God was with him. This made him bold, and he was victorious. The Bible says that we are victorious because “The one who loves us gives us an overwhelming victory in all these difficulties” (Romans 8:37 GW).
Therefore, know that no matter how difficult the situation may seem, you’ll always come out as a victor. So, cheer up with your chest out and chin up for the Greater one is always with you!

Do you know you’re special to the Lord? Yes, you are! I often tell people: ‘If you were the only one on earth; Jesus would still had died for you!’ This shows how special you are to the Lord.
You should know that no one looks exactly like you in this world; your smile, your laughter and even the way you walk are unique to you. You’re “one in a million”; you’re the only one of your kind the Lord has! Hallelujah!
So go everywhere today with a cheer on your face, and joy in your heart, knowing that you’re loved and esteemed by the Lord!

As a child, it’s not too early for you to learn to save. Aside from your special givings, offerings and tithes, you shouldn’t spend everything you get.
The Lord in today’s memory verse is telling you to “be sensible and store up precious treasures...” (Proverbs 21:20 CEV). Therefore, have the discipline to keep away some money as your savings. It could be kept away in a bank or a temporary saving box.
So, when you get a cash gift, don’t spend it all. Be wise and save some.

The moment you were born again, you received a new life in Christ. The Bible says that old things are passed away. This means whatever happened in the past doesn’t matter.
The devil is always at his tricks. He’ll try to remind you of the wrong things you did in the past. Don’t listen to him. Be bold to tell him that you’re a new creation, and he’ll leave you alone.
So, refuse to be weighed down by your past, for it no longer matters! Choose to live a life of victory and dominion over the enemy and his tricks.
