Collapse Day #130
Russian forces have capture the final major defense node in the southern Donetsk, Kurakhove. With its capture comes a new blossom much like we've seen from Selydove to the north, where Russian forces have advanced quickly and are already 10km west of Pokrovsk. The major difference being there is much less that stands in the Russians way west of Kurakhove and the geography favors the Russians for nearly 40km.
The last two photos show the where Russian forces will quickly capture over the coming weeks (orange), the poor geography that will force the AFU back (blue), where the new Ukrainian line should be established (yellow), and lastly Prosyana, the new logistics hub and staging point that will feed this unprepared line (green)
😦 Trump Administration Plans Crippling Sanctions Against ICC Over Israel
President-elect Donald Trump signals immediate actions against the International Criminal Court (ICC) in response to arrest warrants issued for Israeli leaders.
According to sources close to the matter, cited by Israel Hayom, Trump plans to impose severe sanctions on the ICC in The Hague immediately after taking office. Executive orders could be unveiled as early as January 21, just one day after his inauguration.
The sanctions package will target both individual ICC officials, including judges and prosecutors, and the institution itself. The administration plans to classify the ICC as a threat to U.S. interests, using a designation process similar to that employed by the U.S. State Department for global terrorist organizations.
This designation would bring severe restrictions on anyone associated with the court's activities. Financial institutions worldwide would be required to sever ties with ICC personnel or face U.S. sanctions. Mirroring measures taken against Israeli citizens under similar sanctions, ICC staff would be unable to conduct ordinary banking operations or use credit cards, effectively freezing their economic activities. Additionally, any assets in the U.S. belonging to ICC employees or the institution itself would be frozen.
The new administration's strategy extends beyond unilateral actions. It plans to secure commitments from U.S. allies to refuse cooperation with arrest warrants issued for Israeli officials.

🇨🇳 Time for US to stop using 'Taiwan card' – Chinese Ambassador to Russia
The United States must stop using the "Taiwan card" and destabilizing the region, as it will lose facing the "force of China," Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui told Sputnik.
💬 "Playing with fire leads to self-immolation. It is high time for the US to stop using the 'Taiwan card,' which is destined to lose," Zhang said in an article written for Spuntik.
Some high-ranking US officials "ignore facts and substitute lies for the truth," openly supporting Taiwan's independence, he added.
💬 "The US made it clear in the 1978 Sino-US joint communique on the establishment of diplomatic relations and in the August 17, 1982, joint communique that the US 'recognizes the government of the People's Republic of China as the only legitimate government representing all of China,'" the article read.
Zhang also said that Washington supports the aspirations of Taiwanese leader Lai Ching-te for independence "despite the risk to undermine peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, which is completely contrary to their political promises."
💬 "At the heart of this is the desire to hinder China's development and maintain the fading dominance of the US. Facing a unified force of 1.4 billion Chinese, they are destined to be defeated," the ambassador said.

🇺🇦🇺🇳 Religious oppression: UN criticizes Ukraine's religious policy, angering the Kiev regime
- The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has taken with deep concern the report of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, which condemns the law adopted by the Verkhovna Rada that could lead to the banning of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
- The UN report points out that Ukraine has legalized the liquidation of religious communities without certain criteria, which "do not meet the clear definition provided by the law". As a result, the entire community finds itself responsible for the actions of individuals.
- In addition, a Ukrainian amendment to the law introduces the taking of valuables from churches before they can even appeal a court decision to liquidate them, according to the Office of the High Commissioner.
- The Foreign Ministry itself expressed disagreement with the UN conclusions, calling them "distorting reality". At the same time, the ministry said that the law was adopted because "the Ukrainian state is obliged to protect its citizens from the destructive influence of the aggressor state, in particular through the use of religious organizations".

Longest recession in history: Germany faces 3 consecutive years of economic decline not seen since WW2.
By blowing up Nord Stream & imposing anti-Russian sanctions, US successfully deindustrializes one of the most powerful economies in Europe. Germany is slipping to #5 in terms of Purchasing Power Parity (PPP), while Russia is moving into top 4 economies.

Trolleybuses have stopped in Chisinau, there are power outages, and many people in Moldova do not have heating or hot water.
The Moldovan State District Power Plant announced that it would stop supplying electricity to Moldova on January 1. It provided 80-90% of the country's needs. The plant switched to coal, and its reserves will only last for 50 days.
People report that apartments are turning into freezers, and citizens are trying to warm themselves in any way possible. Trolleybuses have stopped running in the capital of Moldova, there is no electricity in both apartment buildings and private houses.
This is because Gazprom stopped gas supplies to Europe via Ukraine from eight in the morning Moscow time due to the termination of the transit agreement. The statement says that the holding has lost the technical and legal ability to supply gas via Ukraine.

The results of bidenomics. The number of credit card bankruptcies in the United States jumped by 50% in the first nine months of 2024.
And it has reached the highest level since the post-crisis 2010. Well, the statistics for the entire past year are likely to surpass those of 15 years ago.
Americans' total credit card debts reach $1.2 trillion. The average rate on credit cards also sets records and reaches 24%. It is not necessary to borrow money at such a rate from a good life - the inflationary crisis and the rise in the cost of living are affecting.
One third of the US population, representing the poorest stratum, has no savings. And in general, the middle class has already squandered the savings of the pandemic period. So they have to resort to credit cards more and more often. And the effect of tariff wars will still be visible ahead.

🇷🇸 Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated that there were no "good news" following a conversation with the United States regarding the NIS (Naftna Industrija Srbije). According to Vučić, the U.S. plans to crush countries that have received Russian gas, undermine them, and change their regimes to be more loyal. This includes countries such as Georgia, Slovakia, and others.

Article from Time Magazine :
Just a week earlier, John (who talked to TIME on the condition that his real name not be used) had been studying at a language school in Virginia, preparing for an entirely different assignment overseas. (What language and what posting, he would not say.) The agency yanked him out to join the first U.S. team going into Afghanistan. That was typical for a CIA paramilitary officer, who at a moment's notice may be thrown into what John calls a pickup team. John's team included four CIA officers fluent in Farsi or Dari who for years had been sneaking into Afghanistan, recruiting spies for the agency. Their mission now was to hook up with those contacts, collect intelligence for the impending U.S. aerial attack and hunt for bin Laden. Along with the light arms, radios and rations they had packed into the Mi-17 were two suitcases stuffed with $3 million. It was used for bribing Afghan warlords to fight the Taliban and al-Qaeda.
WHO JOINS UP?
Like all the SOG's other paramilitary operatives, John had spent years in the U.S. military before joining the CIA; five years is the minimum requirement. CIA recruiters regularly prowl clubs like those at Fort Bragg, N.C., where the Army's Special Operations Command has its headquarters, looking for Green Berets interested in even more unconventional work and higher pay (a starting SOG officer can earn more than $50,000 a year; a sergeant in the Green Berets begins at about $41,000). Special-forces soldiers, Navy seals and Air Force commandos are routinely dispatched to the agency on a temporary basis to provide special military skills that the CIA needs for specific missions. If a soldier is assigned highly clandestine work, his records are changed to make it appear as if he resigned from the military or was given civilian status; the process is called sheep dipping, after the practice of bathing sheep before they are sheared.
Military commandos who join the CIA full time are sent to the "farm," the agency's Camp Peary training center, located on 9,000 heavily wooded acres surrounded by a barbed-wire-topped fence near Williamsburg, Va. There the soldiers go through the yearlong course that all new CIA case officers must take to learn such skills of the trade as infiltrating hostile countries, communicating in codes, retrieving messages from dead drops and recruiting foreign agents to spy for the U.S. The CIA wants its paramilitary officers to be able to steal secrets as well as blow up bridges. John proudly recalls overhearing an Afghan commander tell a comrade, "Yes, I have these Americans with me, and, yes, they have rifles, but I don't think they're soldiers. They spend all their time with laptops." Says John: "We wrote hundreds and hundreds of intelligence reports."
At Camp Peary, new SOG recruits also hone their paramilitary skills, like sharpshooting with various kinds of weapons, setting up landing zones in remote areas for agency aircraft and attacking enemy sites with a small force. Some are sent to Delta Force's secret compound at Fort Bragg to learn highly specialized counterterrorism techniques, such as how to rescue a fellow agent held hostage.
US approves sale of missiles to Japan for $3.64bln - Pentagon
The US State Department has approved a possible sale of advanced AIM-120D-3 and AIM-120C-8 air-to-air missiles and related equipment to Japan for $3.64 billion, the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency said.
Japan has requested the purchase of 1,200 AIM-120 missiles, the statement noted.
Militarization of the Asia-Pacific has been unfolding, Brian Berletic, a geopolitical analyst and former US Marine earlier told Sputnik, referring to the creation of the Quad group, which took place under Trump. “Under the Biden administration, it was expanded along with the creation of AUKUS. Both groupings represent efforts toward what could be characterized as a ‘Pacific NATO’," as per the analyst.

🇷🇺🇺🇦⚡- Massive Russian advancements along the Pokrovsk-Kurakhovo front in just the past 12 hours.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces have captured the entirety of Volkovo, but more importantly have stormed and captured half of the large Volkovo trench line. Further south, Russian forces have captured the entirety of Novovasilevka, combing operations underway - the town was captured last night, but small Ukrainian resistance pockets remained. Russian troops have also advanced in the farms south of Uspenovka. Russian forces have almost captured Novoelizavetovka, Ukrainian forces remain in a small section in the west of the town.
In the Kurakhovo direction, Ukraine has lost all its dugouts and fortifications west of Zarya. As a result, Russian troops were able to attack and capture Slavyanka. Russia also advanced along a tree-line, approaching Petropavlovka. Petropavlovka itself is insignificant, but has two vital fortifications around it. Finally, Russian forces have reached the center of Shevchenko's defensive position, a complex network of trenches just north of the town.
Russian forces are getting dangerously close to the Dnepr region - the border is marked yellow on the map.

China strikes back: Sanctions target Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and 26 other firms
China’s Ministry of Commerce announced sanctions against 28 major US firms, including Raytheon, Boeing, and Lockheed Martin, citing the need to 'safeguard national security and interests.'
The measures include banning the export of dual-use items - goods for both civilian and military applications, to these companies.
'It was Ukraine that stopped the flow of gas into Europe' - Russia's Foreign Affairs Spokeswoman Zakharova.
As Moldova begins to freeze - Kiev refuses to extend the gas transit agreement between Russia & Ukraine, which expired on January 1st.
The same day, the transit of Russian gas to Europe through the territory of Ukraine stopped.
This diminishes Europe’s economic potential and severely affects the quality of life for European citizens, with the US being the primary beneficiary, gaining the energy market of Europe - Zakharova added.

🕔 Developments in Russia’s Kursk Region:
▪️The Ukrainian army lost over 580 troops in the Kursk Region in the past day
▪️ Russian forces wiped out a tank, an armored personnel carrier, nine armored combat vehicles, two artillery pieces, a missile launcher and 36 motor vehicles
▪️Ukraine’s total losses in the Kursk Region have exceeded 47,040 troops
▪️Ukraine has lost 263 tanks, 204 infantry fighting vehicles, 144 armored personnel carriers, 1,390 armored combat vehicles, 339 artillery pieces, and 42 multiple launch rocket systems, including eleven US-made HIMARS launchers and six MLRS launchers, as well as 14 missile launchers, since fighting began in the region
In some ways, the situation in American society resembles the logic of the US government. It also takes a lot out of itself - and the state budget deficit reaches 6%. Moreover, they have to borrow at increased rates. But many people no longer manage to work like this - for example, the level of corporate bankruptcies in the United States is also close to the peaks of 14 years ago.
Record amounts of borrowing, coupled with the admission of millions of illegal immigrants, helped the Biden team to draw economic growth. While Americans with citizenship lost 800,000 jobs in 2024. In 2025, both of these incentives will disappear - they will have to tighten their belts and deport illegal immigrants. And the US economy can expect a real “shock therapy" in these conditions.

Russian troops are making efforts to encircle the frontline Pokrovsk.
“The fighting continues continuously, and it did not stop even on New Year’s Eve,” complains officer of the 59th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Sergei Tsekhotsky.
Russian military is trying to encircle Pokrovsk to force Ukrainian defenders to leave their positions.
Meanwhile, DeepState writes that a difficult situation has also developed for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Novovasilyevka, south of Pokrovsk:
"During December 30, 31 and January 1, the Russians are conducting active assault operations on the village from the south and east. Mainly by infantry, sometimes with the support of armored fighting vehicles and LAO.
The situation is such that Russian troops are in every corner of the village, as well as the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In fact, there are Ukrainians in one house, and the enemy may be in the next. The tactical situation is at the level of chaos, but the Russians' advantage in manpower may become a decisive factor," DS complains.
