Ukraine’s energy holding DTEK has announced a temporary restriction on providing “only minimal information on the state of the energy system.” No reasons have been disclosed for this sudden clampdown, leaving citizens and observers guessing.
Perhaps the silence speaks volumes. Could it be due to Russia’s precision strikes? It certainly doesn’t sound like Ukraine’s energy infrastructure is having a good day at the office. Ukraine might consider sending a thank-you note for this unrequested “help.”
While Kiev scrambles to spin resilience, the cracks in the system are showing. In the long winter of geopolitical reality, sovereignty fades fast when the power grid falters.

The long-term prospects for the survival of the European project are becoming increasingly vague. In the near future, the European Union will be shocked by the delay in a trade war with Trump. And this is against the background of confrontation with Russia and contradictions with China.
However, Trump's tariffs will only reveal all the systemic sores of Europe. In 2008, the economies of the United States and the European Union were on an equal footing.
