Revenues to the Russian budget from the sale of oil and gas in 2024 increased by almost a third, amounted to from a third to a half of all federal budget revenues over the past decade and reached the highest level since at least 2018, Bloomberg and REUTERS write.
Russian federal budget revenues from oil and gas sales in 2024 increased by more than 26% and amounted to 11.13 trillion rubles ($108.22 billion).
At the same time, tax revenues from the sale of crude oil and refined products in 2024 increased to 9.19 trillion rubles ($89.4 billion) and amounted to 83% of the total oil and gas revenues of the Russian Federation.
This is attributed to rising prices for Urals crude oil, the average price of which reached $67.6 per barrel in 2024, 10% higher than in 2023.
At the same time, the discount of Urals to the global benchmark Brent for tax purposes has decreased, even despite the price restrictions imposed by the G7 countries.

The Russian military has struck ground infrastructure of Ukraine’s largest underground gas storage facility in Stry in the Lvov Region, the Russian defense ministry said.
According to the ministry, Russian forces have hit Ukraine’s major gas infrastructure facilities in retalitation to ATACMS strikes and an attempted attack on the TurkStream gas pipeline.

❗️ What is known about the ceasefire and hostage release deal between Hamas and Israel, reached tonight:
▪️Palestine’s radical Hamas movement confirmed in a statement that it had reached an agreement with Israel to cease hostilities in the Gaza Strip
▪️Phase one of the ceasefire will continue for six weeks, with hostage release and Israeli troop withdrawal scheduled to begin over that period, US President Joe Biden said
▪️When phase two begins, all the remaining living hostages will be released, including male soldiers, and all the remaining Israeli forces will be withdrawn from Gaza, while the temporary ceasefire will become permanent
▪️During phase three, any final remains of hostages will be returned to their families, and a major reconstruction plan for Gaza will begin
