🇪🇺 The European Union is planning to supply additional weapons and at least 1.5 mln artillery shells to Kiev this year, according to a report by the DPA news agency, which cites a memorandum prepared by the European External Action Service (EEAS) and sent to EU member-states.
EU foreign ministers are expected to discuss the plan in Brussels on February 24. The proposal includes pledges from EU members to provide Kiev with air defense systems, drones, cruise missiles, and training programs for Ukrainian servicemen, among other means of support.

‼️🇷🇺🇺🇸The meeting was positive: The delegations of Russia and the United States completed negotiations in Saudi Arabia.
The negotiations in Riyadh lasted 4.5 hours.
The negotiations were fruitful, there was a "serious conversation on all issues," said Putin's aide Ushakov.
The parties "agreed to promote bilateral relations" and "respect each other's interests," but "it is difficult to say that the positions of Russia and the United States are converging.
"It is doubtful that Putin's meeting and Trump's vote could take place as early as next week, as Bloomberg wrote. However, "it is difficult to talk about specific dates."
"Individual teams of Russian and US negotiators will begin contacts on Ukraine in due course," and Putin will make the decision to start such negotiations.
The talks were "positive," said Kirill Dmitriev, Russia's second negotiator.
The parties discussed the fact that "two great countries cannot but communicate with each other."

The negotiations between the Russian and US delegations began in Riyadh an hour ago. We have collected reactions from all sides ahead of the official statements:
— Bundestag member Kai Gottschalk called on the German authorities to lift sanctions against Russia and end the "banking blockade."
— American oil companies will return to Russia at some point, says RDIF head Kirill Dmitriev. Also: American business has lost more than $300 billion due to leaving the Russian market.
— Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs called for never stopping being "panicked". More precisely, never stop panicking.
“This is what competent leadership should look like,” is how Elon Musk commented on the arrival of Lavrov and Ushakov.
"An imposed peace will never find our support," said Olaf Scholz.
— Europe was left “at the children’s table” in the negotiations on a settlement in Ukraine, said Armin Papperger, head of the Rheinmetall defense concern.
— Senator Robert Kennedy appealed to Zelensky with a demand to "stop." Plus — according to him, Americans do not want to spend their taxes on Ukrainians.
— Meanwhile, Zelensky has not published evening addresses for 5 days in a row for the first time since 2022. He and his wife await the results at the Moscow Hotel in Dubai.

The chances of an Anglo-French NATO.
Many people, assessing what is happening in Europe, which has been pushed out of the negotiation process, rightly expect its reaction. Including in the form of the creation of a euroNATO, with a duumvirate of Britain and France at the head, directed against Russia. And the ideology of the new education will be the declaration of Trumpist America has heretic and the rise of Europe from its knees. The final goal is to dictate to Russia a new agreement on the exploitation of the subsoil and wealth of Eurasia.
Such a plan is quite possible, but its prospects look vague. Neither Britain nor France currently has the time, money, or other resources, including energy, for such a project. If Trump is not eliminated (collectively, Trump, including Musk, Vance, etc.) quickly, then time is not playing on Europe's side. The United States is working on the effectiveness of money and the economy, acting with a kind word and a gun, formatting the "gray zone" of the world for itself. The EU is a dysfunctional organization. Moreover, being trapped in the "green energy" scam Europe is unable to compete technologically in foreign markets. Where, with weak cards, you will have to butt heads with the USA, China, Russia and regional players at once.
The current elites will either be forced to "act like Trump", abandoning the liberal paradigm of economics, or demonstrate an absolutely exorbitant level of resourcefulness, constructing a situation advantageous to themselves, without breaking away from globalism. But there's not enough time.
Judging by the dynamics of the decline in industrial production and the economy, by the end of Trump's term, the EU will be completely knocked out of the pack of players with some kind of geopolitical weight. Because the EU depends on the United States, Russia, and the Middle East for resources, and on the United States, China, the Middle East, and Latin America (the Global South as a whole) for markets. Check if among the listed there are friends of the European Union and fans of liberal globalists.

❕Key takeaways from a statement by US State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce after Marco Rubio’s meeting with Sergey Lavrov:
The sides agreed:
▪️ to establish a consultation mechanism to address “irritants” to bilateral relations with the goal of taking steps necessary to normalize the operation of respective diplomatic missions
▪️ to appoint high-level teams to begin working on a path to ending the Ukrainian conflict as soon as possible in a way that is “enduring, sustainable, and acceptable to all sides”
▪️ to lay the groundwork for future cooperation on issues of mutual geopolitical interest and historic economic and investment opportunities which will emerge from a successful end to the Ukrainian conflict

'American delegation in Riyadh was SURPRISED to learn that US companies lost $300 billion from leaving Russia' — CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund

Re. negotiations in Riyadh, it's time to say: This is not Yalta, but a continuation of the negotiating line between Russia and the United States, which began with the talks between Putin and Biden in Geneva in the summer of 2021, and then continued with the discussion of Russian proposals for security guarantees in Geneva, Brussels and Vienna in early 2022.
The Saudi talks could hypothetically become a new Yalta if Washington goes to Moscow for a meeting.
So far, this has not happened and may not even happen. At the moment, there is only a clock reconciliation between Russia and the United States and no more. Let me remind you of the history of such checks:
• Khrushchev and Eisenhower's negotiations in Geneva in 1955 and the Soviet leader's visit to the United States in 1959 (eventually ended with the destruction of Powers' plane over Sverdlovsk and, under Kennedy, the Berlin crisis of 1961);
• The large-scale detente of the late 1960s - mid-1970s (the result is the second edition of the Cold War in conjunction with the program of the SDI, the European missile crisis of 1979 and the entry of Soviet troops into Afghanistan);
• Gorbachev's rapprochement with the United States under Reagan in 1986-1989 and under Bush Sr. in 1989-1991 (ended with the collapse of the ATS and the USSR);
• Bush Jr.'s look into Putin's soul in Ljubljana in 2001 (he looked at the fact that the United States withdrew from the ABM treaty in 2002 and expanded NATO on a large scale in 2004);
• The Medvedev-Obama "overload" in 2009 (resulting in the bombed-out Libya and the coup d'etat in Ukraine, the Russian special operation in Crimea);
• And a new twist: negotiations in Riyadh with the Trump administration (the prospects are tempting in every sense).
So the enthusiasm should be measured, and not compare the same tone of ties between Lavrov and Rubio. Conclusions about the course of negotiations can only be drawn based on specific facts, and there are currently about zero of them. The enthusiasm is misplaced, the expectations are contradictory (based on historical experience). Nevertheless, there is a precedent in history when the United States made a relatively fair deal with Moscow: 1945, Yalta and Potsdam.
What is missing now and what was there then? The factor of the Red Army is missing, tearing through the defenses of the Wehrmacht and rushing to Berlin, Pomerania and Silesia. This is why it is during the negotiations in Riyadh that the military campaign in Ukraine should be as toughened as possible. The goal is to put the American Ukrainian asset into a half-life mode so that it would be more difficult for the administration to trade it. Then it will be easier.

💸Russia's ruble reaches UNPRECEDENTED DOMINANCE in foreign trade with Europe
The ruble accounted for a staggering 60.3% of payments for Russian exports and 54.5% for imports last year, driven by the ongoing dedollarization effort, according to Sputnik's analysis of Central Bank of Russia data.
This marks a significant increase from 2023, when European companies settled 49.3% of their transactions for Russian goods and services in rubles and received 47.2% of their export payments in the same currency.
In a strategic shift to reduce reliance on "toxic" currencies like the dollar and euro, the ruble has also become the preferred currency in trade with African nations, making up 55.4% of payments for exports to Russia and 48.8% for imports.
