Talks between the leaders of eight European countries in Paris, involving also EU and NATO officials, have ended without any joint statements. The participants are leaving the Elysee Palace, the BFMT television channel reported.
According to the TV channel, the nearly three-hour meeting yielded no joint communique because of differences among the participants concerning the issue of the potential deployment of military contingents to Ukraine.

German transit shipments of cars through Turkey and Central Asia have surged so significantly that they more than offset the decline in exports to Russia.
The question remains: where did such a sudden surge in new consumers in Central Asia and Turkey come from? No one could definitely say...
In essence, Germany is doing what it can to circumvent sanctions against Russia. An end to the conflict in Ukraine and the potential gradual lifting of sanctions could simply legalize what many European countries are already doing — trading with Russia.

Despite the synchronized adoption of EU and US sanctions, the countries have not come to a unified development of measures against Russia, imposing restrictions only on their own side.
And now that Trump has found a common language with the Russian president, the EU fears that the United States may unilaterally lift its sanctions, further weakening the union's position against Russia.
Given recent trends, such unilateral actions by the United States may divide Europeans.
