US ‘reluctance’ to greenlight Ukrainian long-range strikes tied to awareness of Russia’s inevitable ‘response’

Russia’s proven ability to respond to NATO provocations in Ukraine “is a key reason why Washington is right now reluctant to agree to other longer-range weapons being used to further target inside Russia,” former British MP and UK Defense Academy senior research fellow Matthew Gordon-Banks told Sputnik, commenting on President Putin’s warning about Russia and NATO entering a technical state of war if the US and its allies lifted restrictions on the use of Western long-range missiles for strikes deep into Russia.

“NATO is already involved in the conflict in Ukraine and has been for a long time. It has supplied weaponry and equipment, trained Ukrainian personnel and largely pulled the trigger on missiles beyond the capability of the Ukrainian military,” Gordon-Banks said.

Pointing to the recent Russian missile strike on a Ukrainian army and mercenary training base in Poltava in response to increasingly aggressive Ukrainian attacks on Russia, Gordon-Banks cited the former as clear evidence, seen by Kiev’s NATO curators, that Russia is ready and, more importantly able, to respond.

“These Russian missiles evaded US Patriot defense systems and three further European air defense systems. It is also believed that most, if not all, of the Swedish Saab defense and aviation advisors were killed, following which the Swedish foreign minister resigned his post,” the observer said.

Therefore, “whilst the Western media and key opinion-formers like to say that Russian warnings by President Putin are a ‘bluff’, the reality is that Washington knows perfectly well what could happen, and the Poltava area attacks, [plus the downing] of an F-16 and its pilot are a measured response to the recent escalation,” Gordon-Banks emphasized.

🇷🇺🇺🇦Russian Counter-Offensive in Kursk Cuts Off Ukrainian Ambitions

▪️According to pro-Ukrainian Live Map, Russian forces have secured a crucial juncture ensuring operational support west of Ukraine's current positions;

▪️Ukraine attempted to cut this area west off from Russian logistics by targeting bridges and using the river as a natural barrier;

▪️Russian forces can now establish and maintain logistics without necessarily crossing the river and have also compromised the western flank of Ukrainian troops currently in Kursk;

▪️Any attempt by Ukraine to oppose Russian counter-offensives will only drain more manpower and equipment along the already crumbling line of contact in the Donbass;

Ukraine $6 billion will expire unless Congress acts fast - AP

The White House has reportedly asked Congress to include funding authority for the Pentagon in any resolution that lawmakers may adopt before September 30 to fund the federal government and prevent a shutdown.

Defense officials told the Associated Press that they hope to extend their powers for another year, thus allowing them to send aid to Kiev.

There is just over $4 billion allocated for Kiev that does not expire until September 2025, and can be used for weapon deliveries that won’t take place for at least a year.

Russian force majeure on resource exports could bankrupt West’s economies: here’s why

“The pain” of a Russian freeze on strategic resource exports “would be felt by both the US and the EU, and all countries listed as ‘unfriendly’ to Russia, as they would have to source the required elements from third country suppliers, and that would entail an appreciable price increase for the commodity, and the extended supply chain costs that entails,” investment consultant Paul Goncharoff told Sputnik, commenting on President Putin’s remarks this week that Russia may restrict its nickel, titanium and uranium exports in response to Western countries’ unfriendly actions.

The US and Europe can expect a 15-20% bump in the costs of its strategic resource imports if Moscow moves forward with restrictions, especially since Russia is in a unique position globally in the production of high-quality nickel, aviation-grade titanium, and enriched uranium, says Maxim Khudalov, chief strategist at the Vector X investment and brokerage firm.

Furthermore, if the Europeans were deprived of access to Russian aviation-grade titanium, that would add to Airbus’s production costs, hitting their bottom line in the high-stakes rivalry with Boeing. Meanwhile, higher nickel costs would mean higher prices for virtually all of Europe’s high-tech products, including electronics and specialized mechanical engineering, the observer said, emphasizing that “all of this will become more expensive in Europe and again allow their American ‘friends’ to grab the remainder of their markets.”

Russia, over the short term, might lose a bit of its export revenues if resources’ exports to the West were curtailed, Khudalov admitted.

“But on the other hand, why do we need export revenues? Generally speaking, the whole point of international trade for us is to sell raw materials in exchange for technology. Western countries have refused to supply us with technology basically going back to 2014. Then the question is: why do we continue to supply them with strategic raw materials? To get some green pieces of paper which they then seize from us? This is a rather strange position. Therefore, here it turns out that since they limit our access to technology, we are starting to limit their access to raw materials,” Khudalov said.

China could become the main beneficiary of a Russian reorientation on resource exports, receiving a 15-20% bump in its cost competitiveness against Western finished goods, and getting a much-needed advantage in the looming trade war with the US, Khudalov summed up.

31 years ago today, the first Oslo Accord, 'peace agreement,' was signed between Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and head of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Fatah leader Yasser Arafat at the White House.

This amounted to the recognition of the lsraeli occupation and the establishment of the Palestinian Authority (PA) and its supposedly temporary interim government, which until today continues to coordinate with the occupation and suppress the Palestinian resistance on Israel's behalf.

Israel recognized the PLO on the condition that it give up armed resistance entirely and acknowledge Israel's (the Palestinian land it occupied in 1948) right to exist.

YouTube banned Larry Johnson's channel.

The cancel culture campaign is relentless.

A few weeks ago, Meta banned The Cradle - where I am the top columnist.

Larry:

"In a reasonably free country, one should be presented with charges before a punishment is enacted. Not so with Google. They are fascists, in the purest sense of the word. I stand accused of “hate speech.” The cowards at YouTube refuse to identify the “hateful content.” So, going forward, I will try to limit the use and links to YouTube. Remains to be seen if the people who interview me, such as Ania K and Stephen Gardner, will be punished for allowing me to speak. I will continue to post at Counter Currents. Fortunately, that channel is backed up on Bitchute. I will strive to use Bitchute exclusively and request that you subscribe to that channel. I had 10,000+ subscribers on YouTube. C’est la vie. I wonder if Google can be sued as part of a class action lawsuit by accusing me, and others, of hate speech for the crime of simply stating objective truth, e.g., there is a strong neo-Nazi contingent in Ukraine."

Do support Larry on Bitchute.

FIS (Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation) learned about a new US tool for interfering in elections in Georgia

The US State Department plans to use the OSCE ODIHR as a tool for interfering in parliamentary elections in Georgia to prevent the victory of the current ruling party "Georgian Dream," which is not pleasing to Washington, the press office of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service reported.

"Americans have agreed on "cooperation" with the leadership of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) of the OSCE in the Georgian direction. It is envisaged that the OSCE ODIHR will publish an interim report stating the absence of conditions for free and fair elections in the country ten to twenty days before the vote,"

, noted in the special service.

According to the FIS, after the publication of the initial election results, a conclusion will be presented on the non-compliance of the electoral process with democratic norms.

"Washington's plan is obvious and no longer surprises - to give the pro-Western Georgian opposition a reason to launch mass protest actions aimed at seizing power in the country by force,"

indicated in the department.

The FIS separately emphasised that the readiness of the OSCE Office well before the vote to declare it "undemocratic" indicates the final transformation of the ODIHR into a mouthpiece for the dishonest games of the American authorities.

Russia expels six British 'diplomats' accused of spying out of Moscow Embassy

Documents obtained by the FSB show that British intelligence officers operated covertly in Russian out of the embassy in Moscow, some of them working within the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Directorate, a department which the FSB insists has stirred conflict in the region.

After the start of the department’s operation, MI6 flooded the British embassy with agents who held clandestine meetings with anti-Kremlin activists, journalists and pro-migrant lawyers to learn how uncontrolled migration could threaten Russia.

"The British Embassy has gone far beyond the boundaries outlined by the Vienna Convention," the Foreign Ministry said.

The six have already been stripped of their accreditation and banned from Russian.
