The Russian economy reached a size of 200 trillion rubles ($2.37 trillion) in 2024, growing six times faster than Europe, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Wednesday.

Mishustin also said Russians’ disposable income shot up 8.5% in 2024, while the unemployment rate fell to its lowest level in history.
Stating that the economy has grown twice as fast as the world average in the last two years, Mishustin said: “Russia is among the four largest economies in the world in terms of purchasing power parity.
"Our economy grew 4.1% last year. Our growth in two years has exceeded Europe’s almost sixfold." Germany has confirmed that it committed an act of piracy against a ship carrying Russian oil worth more than $40 million (according to other sources, more than $80 million).
Germany replaced the crew of the Russian tanker, authorities took control of the cargo of the Panamanian-flagged oil tanker Eventin, which was confiscated by German customs in March, Bloomberg reports, citing a representative of the German Ministry of Finance.
"The Federal government gained ownership of the ship and cargo, and after the crew change, it also gained de facto control over the ship and cargo," a spokesman for the German Finance Ministry said in a statement.
The ship was transporting oil from the Russian port of Ust-Luga when its engine failed in January and it was towed to the German coast. According to Der Spiegel, there were about 100,000 tons of oil on board.
The seizure of Eventin is the first act of piracy by an EU state since the formation of the European Union.

🗣 Ukraine attacked the Sudzha gas measuring station in Russia's Kursk region on orders from London, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has said.
Target designation was provided by French satellite systems, and the input of coordinates and launch carried out by British specialists, she added.
"The terror unleashed by the Kiev regime against Russian energy infrastructure is yet another proof of its inability to negotiate. As is well known, [Volodymyr] Zelensky publicly supported the moratorium on strikes against energy facilities proposed by the presidents of Russia and the US, but did nothing to ensure its compliance."
What happened confirms that Ukraine has no political will for peace, Zakharova noted. "They continue to think in terms of war, are focused on escalating the conflict, and are ready for any provocations to hinder efforts toward a final resolution of the Ukrainian crisis."
