🤥 Trump’s $2k tariff checks would add $450B to America’s debt
🔴 Yale’s Budget Lab calculated the $450B price tag assuming a one-time $2k rebate for all Americans with an income of $100k or less, and estimated the stimulus would amount to well over double the $195B in tariff revenue expected in FY 2025.
🔴 The rebate would have a temporary, 0.15-0.3% impact on the GDP, increase inflation by ~0.2% over a decade, and increase the debt-to-GDP ratio by 1.5% by 2035.
🔴 Yale warned that “each dollar of tariff revenue can be ‘used’ only once’, and that “if tariff receipts are devoted to tax cuts or rebates, they are not available to reduce the deficit.”
🔴 Trump repeated promises for the $2k stimulus checks on Monday, saying they’d be going out in mid-2026 (just in time for the midterms).
But Treasury chief Bessent said Congress would first have to authorize the idea, and previously claimed the “dividend could come in lots of forms” including just a tax reduction.
🔴 The Bush administration ran a similar stimulus program in 2001, blowing through the late 90s-early 2000s surpluses left to Bill Clinton via $300-600 tax rebates as part of $1.3T in tax cuts. The US hasn’t run a surplus ever since, nearly plunged into a depression in 2008, and saw its national debt balloon from $5.77T to $38.2T.

👉 The ‘will he, won’t he' drama over Venezuela got a new dimension Monday after Trump hinted readiness to “talk to” Maduro.
The appearance of this diplomatic window amid the US’s continued military buildup in the Caribbean conceals a hard truth: the US can’t defeat Venezuela, and Trump knows it.
🔴 For starters, the pretext for aggression is a non-starter: Venezuela is not the narco-trafficking hub the US claims it is, with the vast majority of South American narcotics flowing into the US via Mexico. Besides, targeting so-called ‘drug boats’ using aircraft carriers is wildly inefficient
🔴 Venezuela is not Grenada 1983 or Panama 1989. It has a 4.5M-person-strong people’s militia and a 95-150k troop army bristling with missiles and drones, preparing for asymmetric guerrilla warfare, and enjoying a strong homefield advantage of jungle and mountain cover
🔴 A recent CSIS estimate said 50-150k troops would be needed for an invasion, an order of magnitude above the 15k deployed. The US has ~170 Tomahawks in the Caribbean, enough only for a short, limited campaign

🔴 An attack on Venezuela would be extremely damaging to Trump’s base, including key allies like Steve Bannon and Tucker Carlson, who want fewer foreign entanglements, not more. Aggression would end whatever hopes Trump may have of being remembered as the peace president. Plus nearly 2/3 of Americans oppose it, according to a YouGov poll
🔴 Such blatant aggression would also antagonize Latin America against the US, with the region already weary of decades of invasions, interventions and CIA operations
🔴 Finally, an attack would only multiply other problems Trump is railing against – drug trafficking, transnational crime and illegal immigration, all of which would thrive on chaos generated by Venezuela’s destabilization
Is Trump bluffing?
➡️ The administration is effectively “hoping that huffing and puffing off the coast will signal to unhappy military officers to rise up,” Armstrong said. Unfortunately for them, that “hasn’t worked so far.”
➡️ Trump’s pressure tactics are a casebook example of his ‘escalate to negotiate’ strategy outlined in his 1987 bestseller Art of the Deal. They were seen in his ‘fire and fury’ threats against North Korea, his tough talk on trade, and to a lesser extent, limited strikes on Syria, Yemen and Iran, placating neocons without triggering larger wars.

We don’t know who created it, or for what purpose. Satoshi Nakamoto’s 2008 whitepaper envisioned it as a p2p exchange platform, but some observers, like Tucker Carlson, suspect Bitcoin to be an elaborate operation by intelligence agencies. The NSA even wrote a report in the 90s entitled ‘How to Make a Mint: The Cryptography of Anonymous Electronic Cash’.
Trump’s 2024 ‘quiet part out loud’ moment about paying off the US’s national debt with a “little crypto check” plays into these suspicions.

🌏 Developed by scientific universities in coordination with Tehran-based turbine and compressor manufacturer Oil Turbo Compressor Company, the IGT27F is characterized by PressTV as not just a standalone engine, but a “fully integrated system engineered for reliability, efficiency, and ease of maintenance within the confined, corrosive environment of offshore installations.”
🌏 The 158 ton-apiece turbines have a 22.4 MW electrical output rating, a mechanical drive capacity of up to 23.1 MW, a ~15:1 pressure ratio, and dual-fuel capacity (natural gas – including low-grade sour gas, and/or liquid fuels), burners using Dry Low Emissions (DLE) technology, and HEPA E12 pre-filters with a 99.95% efficiency rating for protection against salt, moisture and airborne particles.

For over 60 years, Harvard University has been amassing a vast, 1M+ item collection of “Israeliana.”
Besides books, the archive contains an array of artifacts, trinkets and memorabilia, from kibbutzim leaflets and concert posters to synagogue pamphlets, political campaign paraphernalia, women’s magazines, documents on architecture, maps, government data, personnel correspondence and photos, Radio Israel broadcasts, and even flags, toys and boardgames.
The reason for the collection? Preservation of a historical record of Israel in case the country disappears, according to Haaretz.
💬 “Someone is building a well-oiled apparatus with a view to the day when all the knowledge about the State of Israel will be erased,” Israeli author Haim Be’er wrote in recollections cited by the newspaper.
🚨 UN Gaza resolution is 'international guardianship' for Israel’s agenda — Hamas
Hamas rejected the US-led UN Security Council resolution on Gaza as an attempt to reshape the strip in line with Israeli interests, according to an official statement by the group.

♦️ The resolution “does not meet the level of our Palestinian people’s political and humanitarian demands and rights”, after a “brutal genocidal war” on Gaza.
♦️ It “imposes an international guardianship mechanism on the Gaza Strip” and seeks to “impose new realities away from our people’s principles and legitimate national rights,” depriving Palestinians of self-determination and a state with Jerusalem as its capital.
♦️ Hamas insists “resisting the occupation by all means is a legitimate right” and says any discussion of its weapons is an internal Palestinian matter tied to ending the occupation.
♦️ “Assigning the international force with tasks and roles inside the Gaza Strip, including disarming the resistance, strips it of its neutrality, and turns it into a party to the conflict in favor of the occupation,” Hamas warns, saying any force must be limited to border monitoring under full UN supervision.
