🇺🇸"California Governor Gavin Newsom Calls State Legislative Session to Confront Trump"
Politico reports that Governor Newsom is asking for funding for his attorney general to "sue the hell out of the federal government."
Newsom called it “the first of several actions” he and lawmakers will take against Trump. Legislative leaders issued statements in support of the governor.
"California has come too far and accomplished too much to simply give in and accept his dystopian vision of America," state Senate President Mike McGuire said in a statement.

🔶 A common narrative among left-wing "political scientists" has been that California was lost to Democrats because Republicans adopted nativist policies.
🔶 California was a Republican bastion from the end of WWII until the late 1990s.
🔶 However, the state shifted markedly towards the left after Republican president Ronald Reagan passed amnesty for illegal aliens in 1986, allowing those who broke the law to enter the United States to attain citizenship for nothing.
🔶 In 1994, Republican governor Pete Wilson backed Proposition 187 to support his re-election as governor of California.
🔶 Prop 187 would have allowed Californian authorities to deny public education and non-emergency healthcare among other things to illegal aliens
🔶 Pete Wilson, the Republican governor of California at the time, supported Prop 187, which passed with 59% of the vote with large support from White, Black, and Asian voters.
🔶 Left-wing political "scientists" often argue that because Latino voters were trending Republican in California before Governor Wilson backed Prop 187, GOP support for this overwhelmingly popular proposition spelled the end of the Republican party in California by alienating Latino voters as the state became more Hispanic later on over time.
🔶 However, just two years prior to Prop 187 being passed, Republicans lost both California US Senate races to the Democratic party largely due to strong Democrat criticism that Republicans failed to do anything to seriously stop illegal migration despite promising to do so.
🔶 Future democrat senators Diane Feinstein and Barbra Boxer even went as so far to say that California needed to "build a wall" along its southern border with Mexico and deploy the California national guard to patrol it.
🔶 30 years later, and President-Elect Donald Trump has the best performance of a Republican running for president in the state of California since George W. Bush in 2004 while explicitly campaigning on mass deportation.

🇫🇷Europe can no longer be a "herbivore" after Donald Trump's re-election as US President.
This opinion was expressed by French President Emmanuel Macron, Politico reports.
According to him, Europe must become "omnivorous".
"For me, it's simple. The world is made up of herbivores and carnivores. If we decide to remain herbivores, the carnivores will win and we will become their market," Macron told European leaders during a meeting in Budapest.
"I think at least we should make the choice to be omnivorous. I don't want to be aggressive, but we know how to protect ourselves on all these issues," he added.

Chancellor Scholz announced that Finance Minister and FDP leader Christian Lindner was fired for his unwillingness to allocate money to Ukraine, Focus reports.
"We are increasing our support for Ukraine, which is facing a difficult winter. After the US elections, this is a very important signal: we can be relied upon. However, I must state once again: the Federal Finance Minister is not showing any willingness to implement this proposal in the federal government for the benefit of our country. I do not want to subject our country to such behavior any longer," Scholz said.
Ukraine is one reason. Lindner rejected Scholz's four-point budget proposal.
Meanwhile, it is questionable whether the Scholz government itself will hold on. German President Steinmeier has already stated that he is ready to approve holding early elections if a vote of no confidence is declared against the Chancellor.
"If the Bundestag withdraws confidence in the Federal Chancellor in accordance with Article 68 of the Basic Law, then I am ready to accept such a decision. In our Constitution, this decision is made under certain conditions. But our country needs a stable majority and a government that is capable of acting. This will be my criterion," the president said.
Let us recall that this vote was requested by Scholz himself after the FDP left the coalition. The vote could take place in January. If the chancellor is voted no-confidence, early elections to the Bundestag could take place as early as March.
