— 🇺🇸/🇮🇱/🇮🇷 NEW: Newsweek reports that 15% to 20% of the global THAAD missile interceptor stockpile was depleted to defend against Iranian attacks in the 12-day war between Iran and Israel, with costs exceeding $800 million

The Pentagon press office told Newsweek, 'We have nothing to provide.'

Approximately 100 U.S. troops have been deployed in Israel with two THAAD batteries since 2024 to intercept Iranian and Yemeni missiles.

To defend against just one of the 22 waves of Operation True Promise 3, the U.S. military used 39 THAAD interceptors, while Israelis used more than 40 'Arrow' missiles.

A 2021 U.S. Department of Defense press briefing revealed that only 41 THAAD interceptors were ordered for that year, bringing the global total to 625 by the end of 2021. It is unclear how many exist in total currently.

*The $800 million cost does not include the expenses for SM-3, SM-6, and other missiles used by the U.S. military in their interception attempts during the 12-day war.

🇮🇱🇮🇷 Israel's defense minister, Yisrael Katz, wants to restart the war with Iran right when Benjamin Netanyahu's corruption trial is about to begin after years of delays from Netanyahu's legal team who used Israel's wars with its neighbours as a justification to skip and postpone court proceedings.

The Jerusalem District Court on Friday twice rejected Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s requests for a two-week hiatus in his graft trial after the State Attorney’s Office said it opposed the move.

In a statement, Justice Rivka Friedman-Feldman said an initial request, submitted by Netanyahu’s defense attorney Amit Hadad, “does not present a detailed basis or reason that might justify canceling evidentiary hearings.”

Hours after the rejection, the premier submitted a second request, but this time, along with a copy of his schedule for the next week as evidence for needing the hearings to be postponed.

The second request was also rejected later Friday, with the court ruling that “in the schedule presented to the court, there is no exceptional information, details or issues that would justify cancelling the sessions.”

The court did grant one concession, allowing the Monday session to start late at 11:30 a.m.

📝: Netanyahu has two more days left until his court appearance. He may order an attack this very weekend in order to delay his trial once more.

🇮🇱🇮🇷 Katz says Israel sought to kill Khamenei, but didn’t find an opportunity

Israeli defense minister, Israel Katz says government began war without knowing if US would join attacks, admits Israel doesn’t know whereabouts of all enriched uranium, says will strike Iran again if needed

Defense Minister Israel Katz said in a series of interviews aired Thursday evening that Israel sought to eliminate Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, during its 12-day conflict with Iran, but the opportunity never presented itself.

“If he had been in our sights, we would have taken him out,” Katz told Channel 13, adding that Israel “searched a lot” for Khamenei but that the operational opportunity did not arise.

He also conveyed that Israel didn’t know the location of all of Iran’s enriched uranium, and that it did not go into the war knowing the US would join the attack.

Asked whether Israel had sought American approval for such an action, Katz told Channel 13: “We don’t need permission for these things.”

During the war, Katz had been particularly vocal about killing Khamenei, calling the supreme leader a “modern Hitler” who “cannot continue to exist.” He told Kan that Israel’s goal was not regime change but “upsetting the regime in the middle of the operation and pressuring the Iranians.”

But he told Channel 13 on Thursday that Israel will not continue to seek Khamenei’s life following the ceasefire that took hold two days earlier.

“I wouldn’t recommend that he stay tranquil,” Katz said. “He should learn from the late Nasrallah, who sat for a long time deep in the bunker. I recommend that he do the same thing.”

“We won’t let Iran develop nuclear weapons and threatening long-range missiles,” he told Channel 12. To Channel 13, the defense minister said: “The main point is that the policy of the State of Israel and the government of Israel is to implement enforcement actions against Iran.”

He said the policy would be “like in Lebanon” — where Israel has targeted Hezbollah’s attempts to rearm — “just times 100.”

“It will take them long years, but we won’t let that happen,” he told Channel 12.

📝: The Israelis grow more bold every time the U.S. continues to replenish their stockpiles of kerosene, bombs and interceptors.

Although Katz said Israel won't target Iranian Ayatollah, Khamenei, the fact he tells him to "learn from Nasrallah" should reveal that he's lying and that Israel will continue to look for an opportunity to assassinate him in the future.

The wars in the Middle East will not end until The U.S. and European countries stop supplying the Israelis with weapons. The Israelis will violate every ceasefire and undermine each & every peace agreement anyone negotiates on their behalf until they get what they want: Greater Israel.

🇫🇷 France is the most unsafe country to live in out of all 27 member states of the European Union!

According to the Global Peace Index, France ranks 74th out of 163 countries in terms of "level of peacefulness".

This index measures the “state of peace” in three main areas, namely the level of safety and security in a country, the scale of ongoing national and international conflicts, and the degree of militarisation. Each country is rated 1 to 5 out of 23 categories of analysis, 1 corresponding to an excellent level of peace and security, 5 at the most serious. If we find criteria such as the perception of crime, the rate of incarceration, the impact of terrorism or political repression, elements inherent in global power status are taken into account, such as external conflicts, arms exports, and the possession of nuclear weapons. On these three points, France is credited with a score of 5 out of 5, the worst step.

According to the data presented by the think thank, France has a general “peace index” of 1.97 out of 5, and ranks 74th, on the same level as a majority of African, Asian and Latin-American states.

Sierra Leone, Ghana, Botswana and Namibia, Gambia, Tanzania, Zambia and Malawi rank higher on the index than France does.

The safest countries are Iceland, Ireland, New Zealand, Austria, Switzerland, Singapore, Portugal, Denmark, Slovenia and Finland.

Overall, the makers of the Global Peace Index note “a continuing decline in world peace, with many key indicators leading up to major conflicts that are higher than at any other time since World War II"

The think tank theorizes the idea of a “Great Fragmentation” that it defines as a “fundamental remodelling of the world order marking the emergence of a new geopolitical era.”

Many recorded active conflicts between States since 1945 (59), deterioration of world peace, internationalization of conflicts, “global economic impact of violence”, tripling of the number of “influential countries” on a global scale since the end of the cold war... according to the circle of thought, the reasons for this “fragmentation” are numerous and contribute to this decline.

🇺🇸🇸🇦 So, the U.S. is expanding its military footprint in Saudi Arabia, with a major logistics hub underway in Yanbu. Meanwhile, Prince Sultan Air Base now hosts the USAF contingent & assets once based at Al Udeid—pushing KSA closer to becoming the top U.S. military hub in MENA.

The base, also known as L.S.A. Jenkins and located in Yanbu, was established in 2022 and has been expanding since early this year. Construction includes new bunkers/emplacements, ammo storage, and other logistics/support facilities, along with the setup of additional troop tents.

The layout of the logistics base suggests major expansion is planned in the coming years to develop it into a key hub supporting the U.S. ops across the region. The base has also hosted several drills to test the military’s ability to transport supplies throughout the region.

🇺🇸🇮🇷🇮🇱 Oliver Alexander on X: Summary of the significant evidence that the B-2s currently airborne are a strike package heading directly for Iran:

1. Immediate refueling after departing from Whiteman Air Force Base indicates that the aircraft are carry close to their maximum payload.

If not an immediate strike, it is highly likely that the ordnance would have be pre-positioned at Guam or Diego Garcia with C-5 or C-17 transport aircraft in order to save the logistical headache of the additional aerial refueling and airframe stress.

2. If the B-2s continue onward to Iran they will arrive on target a few hours prior to opening of the Futures market at 6PM ET Sunday. This will give the Trump administration time to host a press briefing to calm the markets before they open.

3. KC-135 and KC-46 aircraft have been pre-positioned around the world at the exact bases that would enable the world’s longest (and first circumnavigation) bombing mission. I fully suspect this record would be something that would appeal to Trump.

4. Not launching from Diego Garcia means that the U.S. is not legally required to inform Mauritius of the strike as part of their lease agreement.

🚨 Israel dramatically underestimated Iran’s missile power, IDF insiders reveal

‘Top IDF sources’ have told Israeli media that on the eve of Israel’s attack, Iran turned out to have had 20% more missiles than previously assumed (2,500 vs 2,000) and was on course to amassing 6,000 by 2026, 8,800 by 2027 and over 10,000 by 2028.

Even with its estimated 2,500 missiles (only a portion of which were launched during Iran’s Operation True Promise III retaliation), Iran managed to do massive damage.

The IDF claims it destroyed ‘about half’ of Iran’s missile launchers during strikes, with Netanyahu claiming “most” were destroyed. But JPost points out that previous bravado about strikes on Iran’s ballistic missile capabilities in October 2024 proved mistaken, with promises of setting back production ‘by years’ failing to materialize.

⚔️ Missile-base deterrent

Consciously rejecting nuclear and chemical weapons, Iran has long relied on its missile and drone capability as the backbone of its asymmetric deterrent strategy.

This strategy paid off. In 12 days, Iran demonstrated its ability to not only penetrate Israel’s powerful air and missile defenses (despite assistance to Israel from the US and regional countries), but strike close to 20 high-value military, economic, and technological targets, causing up to $17.8B in damage (3.3% of Israel’s GDP).

🇺🇸🇮🇱 Trump calls for Netanyahu's trial to be canceled

U.S. President Donald Trump has called for Israel to pardon Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu or cancel his corruption trial, saying the U.S. would save him like it did his country.

Netanyahu was indicted in 2019 in Israel on charges of bribery, fraud and breach of trust - all of which Netanyahu denies. The trial began in 2020 and involves three criminal cases. He has pleaded not guilty.

"Bibi Netanyahu's trial should be CANCELLED, IMMEDIATELY, or a Pardon given to a Great Hero, who has done so much for the State (of Israel)," Trump wrote on Truth Social

Israel's opposition leader Yair Lapid said Trump should keep out of the matter. "With all due respect and gratitude to the president of the United States, he's not supposed to intervene in a legal process of an independent state," Lapid said.

The Republican president described the case against the Israeli leader as a "witch hunt," a term Trump has frequently applied to U.S. attempts to prosecute him and the same term Netanyahu has used to describe his own long-running trial.

🇪🇺🇵🇱 When You Vote “Wrong”: EU Allies Push To Overturn Polish Election

Poland’s recent presidential election is now at risk of being overturned after the conservative candidate, Karol Nawrocki, won a surprise victory against the liberal favorite. Backed by the opposition Law and Justice (PiS) party, Nawrocki defeated the liberal Mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, a close ally of Prime Minister Donald Tusk and his Brussels-aligned coalition.

But instead of acceptance, Nawrocki’s win has triggered a wave of resistance. Unlike in other EU countries—where electoral irregularities are tolerated if the “correct” candidates win—Poland now faces the prospect of having the vote annulled altogether. The Supreme Court has announced that it will issue a verdict on the election’s validity on July 1 after receiving more than 50,000 complaints.

Among the allegations are vote-counting errors, misattributed ballots, and unusually high invalid votes in districts where Trzaskowski had led in the first round. The ruling coalition has openly encouraged citizens to submit complaints, and some of its members are already calling for a full recount. PiS, on the other hand, says there is no basis to overturn the vote and accuses the government of trying to sabotage democracy after losing.

Adding to the controversy, the final ruling will be made by the Supreme Court’s Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs Chamber—whose judges were appointed during the previous PiS government. Although this chamber is legal under Polish law, the EU refuses to recognize it as legitimate, adding a distinctly European dimension to the internal conflict. This may well give Tusk and his Brussels allies an excuse to ignore the ruling if it does not go their way.

According to reports by RMF FM, prosecutors involved in reviewing the official complaints are already claiming the July 1 deadline “unrealistic.” They say thousands of complaints are yet to be read—let alone evaluated. Yet the Supreme Court President, Małgorzata Manowska, has insisted the ruling will be issued on time, unless “extraordinary events” intervene. She has even warned of potential attempts to breach the court building, suggesting that someone with authorised access might allow protesters in.

The pattern is unmistakable: when the people vote against Brussels’ agenda, the effort to delegitimize the result begins at once. There were no calls to redo elections in Romania despite multiple fraud allegations, because a pro-EU liberal won. However, in Poland—a country that has resisted Brussels’ ideological diktats on migration, judicial sovereignty, and gender policies—the possibility of cancelling the result is seriously being considered.

🇮🇷🇮🇱 The IDF published the war statistics. 500 Iranian missiles reached Israel & 257 missiles were targeted for interception. As previously mentioned, there are many more unreported Iranian strikes. Expect numerous unreported hits on airbases & various other military sites.

Satellite imagery, if available, will likely reveal additional damage (or hits). According to published data, at least 257 interceptors of various types — Arrow 2, Arrow 3, David’s Sling (Stunner), THAAD, SM-6, and SM-3 — were used.

Assuming an average of two interceptors per target, that suggests around 514 interceptors were launched, if not more.

A total of 631 missiles were reportedly launched by Iran. It remains unclear how many failed or were destroyed on the launchers.

500 missiles reached Israeli territory — 79% of the total. 243 missiles were directed toward open areas — 49%. (Note: "Open areas" in this context include military sites such as Nevatim and Ovda airbases)

257 missiles were targeted for interception — 51%.

221 were successfully intercepted — 86% success rate. (Note: Substantial part of these interceptions were carried out by U.S. forces)

36 missiles hit directly — 14%. (Note: This does not account for rocket sub-munitions deployed by Iran)

13,197 insurance claims, 2,305 apartments damaged in 240 buildings

In other words, Israeli & U.S. interceptor stockpiles are now running (extremely) low. So, Iran needs to scale up missile production & conduct large scale simultaneous missile attack next time. In a future war, we will see much much more destruction in Israel.

At the same time, I'd like to add that the 86% interception rate (out of the 257 missiles that were reportedly targeted for interception) is merely a claim, and the actual figure could be significantly lower.

It should also be noted that the missiles which were not intercepted were aimed at airbases. It would have been more effective, given the lack of high precision, to strike Tel Aviv intensely instead.

🇮🇷🇺🇸 Iran not sure it can trust America after Israeli attack, Iran’s foreign minister tells NBC News

Iran will never agree to halt all uranium enrichment and Israel must stop its air campaign before any negotiations with the U.S. can proceed, the Iranian foreign minister said.

“So they had perhaps this plan in their mind, and they just needed negotiations perhaps to cover it up,” Araghchi said. “We don’t know how we can trust them anymore. What they did was, in fact, a betrayal to diplomacy.”

“We’re not prepared to negotiate with them anymore, as long as the aggression continues,” he said.

Araghchi said Iran would not give up uranium enrichment as Trump has demanded, and he said he had made that clear to U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff.

“I told him several times zero enrichment is impossible,” he said.

Every country has the right to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes, Araghchi said.

“This is an achievement of our own scientists. It’s a question of national pride and dignity,” he said.

As for Witkoff, Araghchi said he appeared unable to deliver on what had been discussed in previous meetings.

He added, “There is a lack of confidence now between us because he didn’t deliver his promises and what he told us that we can do.”

He and Witkoff do continue to communicate, though, he said.

“There are some direct messages, some indirect messages we’re exchanging,” Araghchi said. “And we have explained each other’s positions to each other in order to prevent misunderstandings.”

He added that “doesn’t mean negotiation. They have asked us to negotiate, but we negotiate only when it is negotiation and not dictation.”

Araghchi also said the bombing of Iran’s nuclear facilities could not destroy the technical “knowledge” Iran has developed in its nuclear program.

“Suppose they destroy one facility or two,” he said. “We can rebuild them, because the knowledge is here, the technology is there. We have achieved that ourselves, and the technology cannot be reversed, cannot be destroyed by bombs.”
