As an exuse, British autorities refer to the fact that they want to preserve steel production in Britain, but are not ready to subsidize the Chinese owners of the enterprise.
The Chinese owners had invested 1.2 billion dollars in the company, but were unable to make it profitable, since steel production in Britain turned out to be simply unprofitable.
Therefore, the enterprise is being taken away from the Chinese and will finance production in order to preserve jobs without a chance of making it profitable.

Honestly, this is the odd thinking of Zelensky who thinks in terms of PR and information warfare. Victory Day occurs every year because it’s important to remember history and give remembrance to those who gave their lives to stop a genocidal madman. It isn’t held for clicks or headlines.
Ukraine can host the same stupid meetings of European countries and they all can mutter the same mindless rhetoric. “Rules based order… just peace… as long as it takes…”
Host a “coalition of the willing” on Christmas or Easter Sunday, it doesn’t matter Ukraine.

🇺🇸💸 Ray Dalio Sees Collapse, But Still Won’t Name the Parasite
“I’m worried about something worse than a recession.”
That’s Ray Dalio, founder of Bridgewater Associates, the largest hedge fund in the world, warning of an imminent breakdown of the global financial order. But while Dalio sees the storm, he won’t name the parasite. He calls it geopolitical risk and “tariff disruption.” What he won’t say is this: the collapse isn’t an accident, it’s the inevitable result of a financial empire that hollowed out its productive core and called it growth.
Dalio’s fear is real, but the reality is worse. This isn’t a replay of 2008, or 1971. This is the convergence of systemic failure: massive U.S. debt, the unraveling of dollar hegemony, the emergence of multipolar trade, and the reckless deployment of economic weapons by an inept political class. Trump’s tariffs, sold as a way to “bring jobs back” and assert sovereignty, are nothing more than blunt instruments wielded by a rentier elite that offshored the real economy decades ago.
Tariffs, in isolation, aren’t even the problem. It’s how they’re being used, not as part of a coherent industrial policy, but as ad hoc retaliation by a bankrupt empire trying to bluff its way through the endgame of dollar supremacy. The U.S. doesn’t produce anymore. It extracts. It doesn’t invest. It inflates. It doesn’t build. It bombs. Tariffs won’t fix that.
Dalio mentions 1971, the year Nixon severed the dollar from gold, but he doesn’t say why it matters. That was the moment the U.S. abandoned productive discipline in favor of debt imperialism. From then on, it paid for global imports not with goods, but with Treasury IOUs. It forced the world to hold its debt at gunpoint. And now, after fifty years of this racket, the Global Majority is walking away.
This is the end of the petrodollar era, of “exorbitant privilege.” The dollar is still dominant, yes, but it’s increasingly resented, no longer trusted, no longer neutral. And when the reserve currency of the world becomes a weapon, the world finds alternatives. Credit blocs, gold-backed trade, bilateral clearing arrangements, all the architecture of multipolar finance is accelerating.
Dalio warns about “throwing rocks into the machine.” But what machine? The U.S. economy has been deindustrialized by design. Wall Street looted manufacturing and turned labor into debt-serfs. Silicon Valley replaced innovation with behavioral ad targeting. BlackRock turned homes into hedge fund assets. The problem isn’t the method. The problem is the machine was always meant to serve finance, not society.
Dalio says the risk is a loss of confidence in the dollar as a store of value. But it already happened. The U.S. defaulted on gold in ‘71. It defaulted on its industrial base in the ‘90s. It defaulted on the working class when it let medical debt, student loans, and housing collapse under compound interest. And now, under the weight of $37 trillion in debt and the interest payments exceeding defense spending, it’s running out of road.
What Dalio dares not say is this: the U.S. isn’t mismanaging the empire, it’s monetizing the collapse. Every crisis is another transfer. Another bailout. Another war to grease the bond markets. Another round of tariffs to trigger inflation and skim the margins.
Trump’s 10% universal tariff is a panic move. A symbolic flex. The manufacturing won’t come back, because there’s no policy to support it. No public investment. No anti-trust enforcement. And no attempt to de-financialize the economy. Without breaking the power of the FIRE sector, Finance, Insurance, Real Estate, there is no revival, only more theater.
Dalio fears something “worse than a recession.” He’s right to. This is the end of a civilization model. The parasite has drained the host. The system is running on empty. And unless someone breaks the spell, unless we name the parasite and tear it out by the root, America’s future could sadly become a Great Depression without the factories, the gold, or dignity.

There were very clear instructions from EU member states for candidates not to participate in the May 9 parade in Moscow, not to make such trips, because this does not correspond to the EU values.
Britain tests robotic mine-clearing vehicle Weevil.
The Weevil engineering vehicle was developed jointly by Pearson Engineering and the UK Ministry of Defence's Defence Science and Technology Laboratory. The vehicle can be remotely controlled by just one person from several kilometres away.
The UK Ministry of Defence has called the project revolutionary, as Weevil was created based on the experience of fighting in Ukraine, where numerous anti-tank and anti-personnel mines play a key role in defence, and engineering vehicles with people are extremely vulnerable to strikes from FPV drones.
"The day is not far off when we will no longer have to send our people into minefields to clear them. This system can clear minefields in the most challenging conditions and can be controlled remotely from several kilometres away," the UK MoD said.
The prototype of this remote-controlled IMR was developed on the basis of the main British IFV Warrior , but in the future it is planned to be possible to install an unmanned mine-clearing system on other equipment.

'Germany's Leopard 2 tanks suffer battlefield setbacks in Ukraine' - The Telegraph savors the news from Germany, but fails to mention that Britain's Challenger 2s have also been destroyed by Russia.
Germany’s prized Leopard 2 tanks are failing on the battlefield in Ukraine, according to an assessment by its defence ministry.
In a classified transcript of a meeting between a German defence attaché stationed in Kiev and about 200 Bundeswehr soldiers, the diplomat revealed the difficulties Ukrainians are facing in operating the heavy weaponry.
But for all the fanfare, Ukrainian soldiers are finding the Leopard 2 has limited use, says the transcript, which was obtained by three German media outlets.
Leopard 2s are vulnerable to drone strikes, like tanks in general, the transcript reads. However, the Leopard 2’s complicated design makes it difficult to repair on the battlefield, meaning that damaged Leopards must be sent to specialised repair crews in west Ukraine or even go all the way to Poland to be fixed and maintained.
In many cases, the Leopard 2’s problems have forced Ukrainian battalions into using them mostly as glorified artillery.
“The main problem with Leopard 2s given to Ukraine is that there’s too few of them. If one or two have to be repaired, that’s a big part of what Ukraine has that’s suddenly out of commission for a while,” said Sergej Sumlenny, managing director of the Berlin-based European Resilience Initiative Center.
He has made almost monthly trips to the frontline since 2022. He added: “Leopard 2s were also not designed for the Ukrainian battlefield. They function well when they have good air support, but Ukraine is short on this.”
Mr Sumlenny said German post-war thinking plays a role too. “They were designed by a generation of German manufacturers that hadn’t seen war, and so tended to overcomplicate the system.
“Older systems, designed in the 1960s by those who actually saw war, are far more useful on the battlefield but have weaker armour.”
In December, Jake Sullivan, the former US national security adviser, admitted that US-supplied Abrams tanks were “not the most useful piece of equipment” for Ukraine.

Yesterday's missile strike on Sumy killed the commander of the 27th artillery brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces

▪️One of the destroyed targets was Colonel Yuri Yula, born in 1982.
