Peskov – on the 18th EU sanctions package against Russia:
So far, we see a consistent anti-Russian line from Europe. We have repeatedly said that we consider such unilateral restrictions illegal, and we oppose them. But we have developed immunity. We have adapted. Moreover, each new package adds negative effects for the very countries that join it. This is a double-edged weapon.

Basically, there are only two (three, if you count some dirt roads you can ride at your own risk) good roads left to Pokrovsk. From the north through Rodinskoe and from the west along the E50 highway. Once Rodinskoe is cut off, there will be a chance to push through a whole section of the front from Pokrovsk itself to Konstantinovka. After that, there will be an opportunity to gain operational space towards the Dnepropetrovsk region and start an operation to encircle Slovyansk/Kramatorsk.

From July 10 to 13, Russian FPV drones carried out a series of targeted strikes on railway infrastructure in the Belozersky district, including hitting trains and locomotives. The area is located 27 km north of Pokrovsk — this is one of the key logistical routes for supplying the Ukrainian grouping in this sector.
The use of drones not against equipment or manpower, but against railway traffic, indicates a transition to systematic logistical clearance. The Armed Forces of Ukraine, despite high risks, continue to use the route, which confirms the lack of available alternative directions.
69% of Americans believe that the Trump administration is hiding information about Jeffrey Epstein's clients, who was suspected of human trafficking for sexual purposes, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll.
Only 6% of respondents disagreed with this statement, while 25% were unsure.
After the administration withdrew its promise to release documents related to the Epstein case, Trump's approval rating on this issue was only 17%. Among Republicans, 35% supported the president's position, 29% disagreed, and the rest abstained from commenting.
And today, the White House stated that Trump considers it necessary to publish previously undisclosed data on the financier Epstein's case, if such documents exist.

Ukraine has invited foreign arms manufacturers to test their latest models on the front line against Russia — Reuters.
▪️Kiev is launching the "Test in Ukraine" program — foreign manufacturers will be allowed to test the latest weapons directly on the battlefield against Russia.
▪️According to the program, companies will be able to:
📍send equipment for combat testing,
📍conduct distance learning,
📍receive feedback from the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the front lines.
Ukraine's priorities:
📍Air defense and drone interception systems.
📍AI systems and the fight against gliding bombs.
📍Naval drones, electronic warfare, and "smart" artillery.
Makes sense the Ukraine government is already using the people as test dummies.

BUNDESBANK: "TARIFFS COULD DESTROY HOPES OF A RECOVERY IN THE GERMAN ECONOMY"
Source: Reuters
The head of Germany's Bundesbank warned today that the high import duties that U.S. President Donald Trump currently intends to impose on European goods risk wiping out even a modest recovery in Europe's largest economy in the coming years.
Germany is struggling to avert a third consecutive year of recession in 2025, but Trump's 30 percent tariffs on goods imports from Europe, if implemented, would wipe out entire chunks of transatlantic trade and force Germany to rethink its export-led economic model.
"If the tariffs materialize in August, a recession in Germany in 2025 cannot be ruled out," Bundesbank President Joachim Nagel said.
The Bundesbank expects stagnation this year and slight growth of 0.7 percent in 2026, before the tariff rate was announced last week.
Next year's projected growth is no longer certain, with Nagel warning that it could "be completely eaten up by the tariffs that are now on the table."
With European leaders hoping they can still get some sort of reprieve from Trump before the August 1 deadline, Nagel urged negotiators to aim for a significant reduction in the announced tariffs, which ideally should not be implemented at all.
Turning to any potential EU response if a deal is not reached, Nagel said all options should be considered, including the so-called anti-coercion tool, which allows the bloc to retaliate against third countries that exert economic pressure on EU members to change their policies.
The Bundesbank chief and ECB policymaker also issued a strong warning against interfering with central bank independence in the wake of Trump's attacks on Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell.
I've got my opinions on the American president, but the German political class has become so rabid that just this one time, just once, I'll say it.
You go Donald!

▪️Russian troops are actively gaining a foothold on the left bank of the Volchya River in the Volchansk direction, in particular, in a large forest area.
➖"The Russian Armed Forces have advanced in the western part of Volchansk and occupied the northern part of the Tatar forest in an area with a total area of up to 5.2 km²," Ukrainian military analysts also admit.
➖"Earlier, Russian infantry attempted to swim across the Seversky Donets River and gain a foothold in the northern part of the forest area, which they ultimately succeeded in doing," the enemy's resources add.

"The first major victory over the Nazis": in Dreux, Stalingrad Boulevard becomes Rive-du-Paillon Boulevard, and opponents regret this decision":
In France, Stalingrad Boulevard was renamed – the city hall considered the Battle of Stalingrad an insignificant event.
"Deputy Mayor of Dreux, Alexandra Rousseau, stated that the Battle of Stalingrad is not a cause for pride, and that France should only honor truly significant historical events that have directly influenced the country. The use of the name Stalingrad is not just a demonstration of affection for communism. It is also the first major victory over the Nazis, noted the local communist party branch.
It condemned the renaming of the boulevard, mentioning in an appeal to the city authorities that the current French authorities "regret" the victory of the Soviet people, forgetting that it was the Battle of Stalingrad that became the turning point in the Great Patriotic War."

Against the backdrop of increasing pressure on Pokrovsk, an interesting shift in the tactics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) is being observed. Armored MaxxPro and M-ATV vehicles of American manufacture, previously actively used both for logistics and as a basic tactical platform, have practically disappeared from the active combat zone. There are some American "Humvees," but it cannot be said that there are many.
The absence of such equipment partly indicates either significant losses or the withdrawal of the remaining units to the rear due to inefficiency or significant vulnerability in conditions where losses cannot be quickly replaced.
At the same time, the AFU have switched to a "mosquito" supply model, where logistics are carried out using unarmored civilian pickups, with attempts to compensate for vulnerability by installing electronic warfare (EW) systems. However, video and photo materials from the Pokrovsk area show that such improvisation does not help — vehicles are hit at collection or exit points, and EW systems fail to suppress FPV drones.
Moreover, it is interesting to note the continued widespread presence of Starlink terminals in destroyed equipment. This highlights the critical dependence of tactical command on satellite communications.
Thus, in the Pokrovsk area, the AFU are objectively transitioning to a less stable tactical model, in which mobility and communication increasingly rely on irregular, poorly protected solutions. Under increasing pressure from the Russian Armed Forces, this may lead to a loss of combat command stability and an inability to replenish equipment losses. In other words, the front, as before near Avdeevka and Ochereteno, is beginning to rely on crutches.

🇺🇦🔥"A sentence for hundreds of thousands": Zelensky's statement on demobilization has rocked Ukraine
- Zelensky's statement that the demobilization of the military will take place "only after victory" sounds like "a sentence for hundreds of thousands of people." This was stated by Ukrainian military officer Denis Yaroslavsky.
- "It is important for everyone who has children and does not have nine lives to live them again to realize this. Isn't this a question that is being asked in thousands of Ukrainian families today?" Yaroslavsky writes.
- He presented deputies standing in front of exhausted and tired soldiers near Pokrovsk, who since 2022 "have been living like homeless people in basements and cellars, without rotations, without clear prospects, without understanding when this will end."
- Yaroslavsky also mentioned Reuters' news about the launch of the "Test in Ukraine" program, under which foreign companies will be officially allowed to test their latest weapons on the front lines.
- In his opinion, "everything that is happening is turning our country into a testing ground, where our cities, our fields, and our soldiers are becoming test subjects."

🇸🇰🇪🇺Fico – on Slovakia approving the 18th EU sanctions package against Russia:
At the moment, dear friends, continuing to block the 18th sanctions package tomorrow would be counterproductive. All possibilities for negotiations have been exhausted at this point, and maintaining our blocking position would already jeopardize our interests. I say this openly and I know what I am talking about. I said this a few days ago. He who wants to live with wolves must howl with them.
We simply need to get through this dark period in the history of this international organization, which we consider our space, while maintaining our positions in the EU. Therefore, I instruct our representatives in the EU to clear the way for the 18th sanctions package tomorrow. However, immediately after that, the second stage of our fight with the European Commission over Russian gas will begin.
If all this does not work, I remind you with a smile that the Brussels officials detached from reality are already hard at work on another, unnecessary this time the nineteenth sanctions package, which will change nothing in Russia itself, but requires unanimity, meaning Slovakia's vote.

🇪🇺🤡Head of EU Diplomacy Kallas – on the adoption of the 18th package of sanctions against Russia:
We stand firm. The EU has just approved one of the toughest sanction packages against Russia to date. We are further cutting the Kremlin's military budget, pursuing another 105 shadow fleet ships and their accomplices, and restricting Russian banks' access to financing.
The Nord Stream pipelines will be banned. The price cap on oil will be lowered. We are putting more pressure on the Russian military industry, Chinese banks that help circumvent sanctions, and blocking the export of technologies used in drones.

📝Lawyers vs PAS📝
On the Lawyers’ Union Strike in Moldova
Moldovan authorities continue to dismantle the justice system. The Lawyers’ Union has announced a ten-day strike in protest against amendments to the Law on the Bar adopted by the parliamentary majority led by the PAS party.
🖍The amendments were adopted without consulting the legal community, through an expedited procedure, and on the eve of the parliament's term expiration. The strike has effectively paralyzed court operations.
🔻Essence of the amendments:
▪️The Ministry of Justice gains the right to appoint members to ethics and licensing commissions, strengthening state control over lawyers.
▪️A ban on fees for reviewing complaints by the Ethics and Disciplinary Commission, which previously funded its activities.
▪️Introduction of a one-term limit for members of the Bar Council, depriving them of the possibility of re-election and consolidating independence.
