A BBC journalist interviewed men aged 18–22 at the border about their reasons for leaving.
The young men swore that they were not fleeing the war and were not leaving Ukraine forever.
– I’m going to a vacation;
– To see my father;
– To walk around the city at night without a curfew;
– I’m going to Przemysl and back for work – to pick up a car.
The journalist did not specify when the young people would return from their European tour.

I demand reparations from Germany’ – Polish President Nawrocki sends a signal to Merz, emphasizing that the money will go towards preparing for war with Russia.
‘For us to be able to build a partnership with our western neighbor based on truth and good relations, we must finally resolve the issue of reparations from the German state, which I, as the President of Poland, unequivocally demand in the name of the common good. For our future, reparations will not replace historical amnesia, but Poland, as a frontline state, as the most important state on NATO’s eastern flank, needs justice, truth, and clear relations with Germany, but also needs reparations from the German state.’

🇷🇺🇺🇦 "NATO for Ukraine is a road to disaster": Yanukovych appeared and supported Putin
- The former president of Ukraine, who had long disappeared from the public eye, unexpectedly spoke to Russian journalists.
- According to him, when he was in power, his strategic goal was Ukraine's accession to the EU, but he was categorically against NATO membership.
- Yanukovych agreed with Putin's position voiced at the SCO summit: it was the West's attempts to drag Ukraine into the alliance that became one of the causes of the current conflict.
- "This is a road to nowhere, a disaster and a direct path to civil war," emphasized the ex-president.
- He also added that European leaders behaved "inappropriately" during negotiations with Kiev.

"During the day, reports were given by Ukrainian Interior Minister Igor Klimenko and the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Malyuk, regarding the investigation into the murder of Andriy Parubiy. They reported on the progress of the investigation and are examining all the circumstances. All necessary agencies are involved: the police, the SBU, and the prosecutor's office. They are working practically around the clock. I thank everyone who is assisting with the investigation. We hope for a result."
Better to send a cleanup detail later to deal with Elensky's shorts after this one, or better yet, throw them away and buy new ones. It's not as if he's short on money.

The situation around Pokrovsk is rapidly developing. According to incoming reports, Russian units have reached the central districts of the city, and some sources claim that fighting is already taking place near the railway station. If this information is confirmed soon, it can be said that the main stage of the battle has begun. It is still unclear what forces Syrsky will be ready to deploy to retake lost positions, but the outcome of the Russian advance into the center will determine whether the Armed Forces of Ukraine will still be able to hold the connected line of positions in the city or if the defense will start to collapse throughout the district up to Konstantinovka.

At the SCO summit in Tianjin, Xi Jinping called on Russia, India, and other countries in the region to join China in challenging the West amid rising geopolitical and trade tensions, writes the Financial Times.
The Chairman of the PRC told more than 20 leaders that in times of "turbulence and change," they need to maintain an "orderly multipolar world" with free trade, "a fairer and more reasonable system of global governance," which was a clear challenge to the current US-led system.
"We must expand the scale of cooperation, make the most of each country's unique strengths, and unite our shared responsibility to promote regional peace, stability, and prosperity," Xi said.
According to the FT, Beijing is using the domestic SCO summit as an opportunity to present itself as a pillar of global governance in contrast to the Trump administration, whose tariffs have hit both friends and foes of China in the region.Recall that Modi arrived in China for the first time in seven years and met with Xi.

He expressed great satisfaction upon receiving a report that, starting from the preparation of blanks, a flow automated production system has been established with equipment for processing all components of the flight vehicle manufacturing, specialized precision processing, measurement, and assembly of various parts, resulting in high productivity and the creation of a scientific and technical guarantee for ensuring the quality characteristics of the products."
It is also reported that:
"Kim this day signed 3 new promising plans for creating missile production capacity and the corresponding defense expenditure project."

Gold Holds Near Record as Traders Weigh Fed Outlook, US Tariffs - Bloomberg
Gold held just below a record as traders weighed the future of the Federal Reserve and uncertainty around US President Donald Trump’s tariffs ahead of key US jobs data due later this week.
Bullion was near $3,445 an ounce in early Asian trading after gaining 2.3% last week.
Gold spiked to a record around $3,500 an ounce in April after Trump unveiled an initial plan to introduce his tariffs.
China (380 tonnes), Russia (310 tonnes), and Australia (290 tonnes) are the world’s leading gold producing nations.
Gold will increase as the West makes Euros and Dollars risky to hold for central banks. Lower demand for Euro and US denominated debt will result in higher interest costs.

French hospitals have been instructed to prepare for war by March 2026 according to guidelines from 🇫🇷 Ministry of Health.
Revelations by Le Canard Enchaîné sowed concern on Tuesday by revealing internal documents from the Ministry of Health, under the mandate of the General Secretariat for Defense and National Security, asking Regional Health Agencies to prepare for a possible " major engagement" by March 2026. In this document, the ministry envisages a scenario in which the country would become a rear base capable of receiving a massive influx of wounded soldiers, both French and foreign. In the context of a coalition of willing European countries offering military support to Ukraine , these instructions raise questions.
French officials argue this preparing for possible scenarios is perfectly normal, and they prepare for numerous scenarios.
No word on France purchasing more white flags.

"Nazi": This is how Ursula von der Leyen was welcomed in Bulgaria
Ursula von der Leyen had planned to visit a military factory in Sopot today, but her access was blocked by outraged citizens. The country's authorities had kept the exact time of her visit to the Sopot military plant strictly confidential.
"If the European Union is preparing for war against Russia, then let Ursula come here and say so clearly. Over 80% of Bulgarians do not consider Russia an enemy, but 'they see an enemy in the European Union's policy, they see an enemy in Ursula, they see an enemy in NATO's policy,'" said Kostadin Kostadinov, leader of the "Renaissance" party.

Gauleiter UrSSula von der Fuehrer announced in an interview with the Financial Times that Europe has "a detailed plan for sending troops to Ukraine", with a "clear roadmap" for possible deployments. She emphasized the importance of security guarantees for Ukraine, also supported by the United States, with an agreement confirmed by the White House.
Von der Leyen added that European capitals are developing plans for a multinational troop deployment, with guaranteed American support, as reiterated by President Trump.
However, she did not specify which countries would participate or whether the deployment would take place even without a ceasefire.

🇪🇺🤡Von der Leyen's plane barely landed in Bulgaria due to a "jamming attack" by Russia, - FT
- Russia likely disabled the GPS services on the plane of the European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, causing her to be unable to land at the Bulgarian airport, reports the Financial Times citing sources.
- The pilot circled over Plovdiv airport for about an hour and eventually decided to land manually using analog maps.
- Throughout the airport zone, GPS was disabled due to interference, "this was considered Russian interference," writes FT.
- EU governments warned that the increase in GPS interference, blamed on Russia, could lead to a major air disaster, effectively blinding commercial planes during flight.

Merz Sees War in Ukraine Dragging On With No Clear End in Sight - Bloomberg
Merz said he hasn’t given up hope that a ceasefire can be secured in Ukraine, but he’s “not under any illusions either.”
“I am preparing myself for the possibility that this war could go on for a long time,” Merz said in an interview on Sunday with ZDF in which he also rejected a proposal by his coalition partner, the SPD, to increase taxes in Germany
“If you look back at history to see how wars end, there are basically two possibilities: either through the military defeat of one side or the other — which I don’t see happening at the moment for either Russia or Ukraine — or through economic and/or military exhaustion,” Merz said. “But I don’t see that happening on either side at the moment either.”
On Friday, Merz and Macron called for secondary sanctions aimed at curbing Russian revenue from oil sales

Читать полностью…The situation in Kupyansk is becoming critical for the Ukrainian Armed Forces
Units of the Russian Armed Forces have bypassed Sobolevka from the northwest and reached the N-26 highway, which is key for supplying the Kupyansk garrison of the enemy. Thus, its defensive lines, established in the Malye Rovny forest area on the western outskirts of Kupyansk, have lost their purpose.
The information about the significant deterioration of the situation in the Kupyansk area is also confirmed by the enemy itself. For example, Ukrainian Armed Forces officer Andrey Tkachuk stated on a local TV channel:
"Russian troops have brought significant reserves to the city. This is all for assaults. While everyone was shouting about the Sumy region, the Russians focused their attention on Kupyansk. And now there is a huge threat there."

The German Minister of Labor called Merz's plans to cut social spending "nonsense."
"These talks about us no longer being able to finance the social protection system, excuse the expression, are complete nonsense," Bärbel Bas said at a conference of the SPD party in the coalition.
According to her, the welfare state is necessary for social cohesion, and the discussion should focus on how to involve the wealthy segments of the population in its financing.
Earlier, Merz demanded strict austerity and announced an "autumn of reforms," emphasizing that the country "lives beyond its means" and cannot afford the current social protection system.
