The Euro’s Collapse and the Greenback’s Last Illusion

The euro’s descent to a two year low of 1.032 USD is the sound of a currency cracking under the weight of its own contradictions. Germany’s industrial stagnation, Europe’s energy crisis, and complete surrender of monetary sovereignty to DC have turned the euro into a sacrificial lamb on the altar of empire. But let’s not mistake the dollar’s temporary resilience for permanence. It’s a currency underwritten by $36.2 trillion in debt and more than $200 trillion in unfunded liabilities, a bankrupt Ponzi scheme of historic proportions, posing as stability. Both currencies are hurtling toward collapse, but Europe will go first, because vassals are always sacrificed to keep the empire’s illusions alive.

Germany, heart of the Eurozone, has been gutted. Once Europe’s industrial engine, it limps along, strangled by soaring energy costs and a U.S.-driven embargo on cheap Russian oil and gas. Growth this year will barely scrape 0.2%. Volkswagen and Bosch, industrial giants that once symbolized German power, are scaling back as LNG bills pile up. This was no accident. Europe didn’t lose sovereignty, it gave it away. Its decision to sanction its own energy lifelines was both economic folly and geo-servitude. We cannot forget the Nord Stream sabotage; Germany, fully aware of who committed the act of economic terror, chose silence over sovereignty, humiliation over defiance.

But while the euro collapses, the dollar isn’t sitting on quick sand. It clings to its final illusions of credibility, even as it’s underwritten by mountains of debt and liabilities that no amount of Fed magic can erase. And then came the theft, the empire’s $300 billion seizure of Russian sovereign wealth. Beyond theft; it was the opening of Pandora’s box. The empire told the world that no reserves are safe, no currency is immune if you dare step out of line. This was much more than a moment of recklessness, it was a precedent that will haunt. What was meant to cripple Russia will be used against the empire itself, as nations accelerate their flight from dollar hegemony.

The euro’s plight is intertwined with this arrogance. Europe’s decision to bow to DC didn’t just destroy its economy, it ceded the very monetary sovereignty that once made the euro a contender for global relevance. The ECB has slashed rates four times, and predictably its currency keeps falling. It’s a vassal of the greenback, enslaved by policies designed not for Europe’s prosperity but for to buy the empire time.

Meanwhile, the dollar revels in its short-term resilience, propped up by faux military dominance and the inertia of global finance. But the theft of Russian reserves has shattered the illusion of dollar stability for the rest of the world. Nations across the Global South now see the empire for what it is: a bankrupt enforcer clinging to its racket. The dollar’s credibility isn’t real but enforced. And once enforcement becomes the only tool, the system collapses from within.

Europe will fall first, sacrificed to buy the empire a few more hours. DC, fully willing to watch Europe burn, has already shown its hand. The mafia-style LNG extortion racket, the indifference to Europe’s collapsing industry, and the Nord Stream humiliation are proof enough. The empire doesn’t have allies, it has dependents. But don’t think the dollar will escape its own reckoning. When the world finally moves to alternatives untethered from the empire’s whims, both the euro and the dollar will be relics of a failed order.

And here’s the final note: the theft of Russian assets was was a declaration of war on the global financial system itself. It shattered the last vestiges of trust in the empire’s currency regime.

The euro may be the first to collapse, but make no mistake: the dollar will be next. When the dust settles, Washington will look back on the theft of $300 billion as the moment it signed its own death warrant.

This isn’t just the decline of currencies, it’s the funeral dirge of an empire that mistook coercion for strength.

🦅 The Syria story, it seems, is not so simple as ‘President Assad fell’ and the ‘technocratic Salafists’ rose to power.

At one level, the collapse was predictable. Assad was known to have been influenced by Egypt and UAE for some years past. They had been urging him to break with Iran and Russia, and to shift to the West. For some 3-4 years he had been incrementally signalling and implementing such a move. Iran especially faced increasing obstacles over operational matters in which they were co-operating with Syrian forces. His shift was meant as a message to Iran.

The financial situation of Syria – after years of U.S. Caesar sanctions, plus the loss of all agricultural and energy revenues seized by the U.S. in occupied north-east Syria – was catastrophic. Syria simply had no economy.

Yemeni’s Houthis mobilize to fight US, Israel, welcome enemies to ‘great hell’

Yemenis are “eager” to engage the US and Israeli aggressor, and “have prepared ourselves for all possible scenarios,” Zaid al-Gharsi, director of the Houthi-led National Salvation Government’s Media and Cultural Affairs Department, said in a statement Friday amid the militia’s ongoing mobilization.

“The Yemeni people are eager to engage in conflict with the nation’s enemies, and have been shouting the ‘death to Israel’ slogan for the past 20 years, besides confronting the [military] equipment that would be deployed by the US and the [Israeli] regime against it,” al-Gharsi said.

Yemenis have “entered direct confrontation against its adversaries today, and we tell them this: that they are welcome to [their] great hell,” the official said, assuring his countrymen would turn their enemies “into ashes” even if forced to fight with their bare hands.

Al-Gharsi’s comments come against the backdrop of a dramatic escalation in US, British and Israeli bombing attacks on military and civilian infrastructure targets across Houthi-controlled areas as the militia ramps up the targeting of Israeli cities with missiles.

Fort Bragg has also been used for torture related activities.

Article from Time Magazine :

Just a week earlier, John (who talked to TIME on the condition that his real name not be used) had been studying at a language school in Virginia, preparing for an entirely different assignment overseas. (What language and what posting, he would not say.) The agency yanked him out to join the first U.S. team going into Afghanistan. That was typical for a CIA paramilitary officer, who at a moment's notice may be thrown into what John calls a pickup team. John's team included four CIA officers fluent in Farsi or Dari who for years had been sneaking into Afghanistan, recruiting spies for the agency. Their mission now was to hook up with those contacts, collect intelligence for the impending U.S. aerial attack and hunt for bin Laden. Along with the light arms, radios and rations they had packed into the Mi-17 were two suitcases stuffed with $3 million. It was used for bribing Afghan warlords to fight the Taliban and al-Qaeda.

WHO JOINS UP?

Like all the SOG's other paramilitary operatives, John had spent years in the U.S. military before joining the CIA; five years is the minimum requirement. CIA recruiters regularly prowl clubs like those at Fort Bragg, N.C., where the Army's Special Operations Command has its headquarters, looking for Green Berets interested in even more unconventional work and higher pay (a starting SOG officer can earn more than $50,000 a year; a sergeant in the Green Berets begins at about $41,000). Special-forces soldiers, Navy seals and Air Force commandos are routinely dispatched to the agency on a temporary basis to provide special military skills that the CIA needs for specific missions. If a soldier is assigned highly clandestine work, his records are changed to make it appear as if he resigned from the military or was given civilian status; the process is called sheep dipping, after the practice of bathing sheep before they are sheared.

Military commandos who join the CIA full time are sent to the "farm," the agency's Camp Peary training center, located on 9,000 heavily wooded acres surrounded by a barbed-wire-topped fence near Williamsburg, Va. There the soldiers go through the yearlong course that all new CIA case officers must take to learn such skills of the trade as infiltrating hostile countries, communicating in codes, retrieving messages from dead drops and recruiting foreign agents to spy for the U.S. The CIA wants its paramilitary officers to be able to steal secrets as well as blow up bridges. John proudly recalls overhearing an Afghan commander tell a comrade, "Yes, I have these Americans with me, and, yes, they have rifles, but I don't think they're soldiers. They spend all their time with laptops." Says John: "We wrote hundreds and hundreds of intelligence reports."

At Camp Peary, new SOG recruits also hone their paramilitary skills, like sharpshooting with various kinds of weapons, setting up landing zones in remote areas for agency aircraft and attacking enemy sites with a small force. Some are sent to Delta Force's secret compound at Fort Bragg to learn highly specialized counterterrorism techniques, such as how to rescue a fellow agent held hostage.

US approves sale of missiles to Japan for $3.64bln - Pentagon

The US State Department has approved a possible sale of advanced AIM-120D-3 and AIM-120C-8 air-to-air missiles and related equipment to Japan for $3.64 billion, the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency said.

Japan has requested the purchase of 1,200 AIM-120 missiles, the statement noted.

Militarization of the Asia-Pacific has been unfolding, Brian Berletic, a geopolitical analyst and former US Marine earlier told Sputnik, referring to the creation of the Quad group, which took place under Trump. “Under the Biden administration, it was expanded along with the creation of AUKUS. Both groupings represent efforts toward what could be characterized as a ‘Pacific NATO’," as per the analyst.

Transnistria Turns Off Street Lighting to Save Electricity

Amid the halt of Russian gas transit through Ukraine, both Moldova and the loyal Russian enclave of Transnistria find themselves without blue fuel. Sergei Obolonik, the head of Transnistria’s Ministry of Economic Development, announced a shutdown of street lighting to conserve electricity, limiting operations from 16:30 to 20:00. Power plants are now running on coal reserves that will last only six weeks, forcing rolling blackouts and the closure of all enterprises except for food production.

Hospitals remain powered, but Moldova has already experienced trolleybus network failures and canceled New Year’s illuminations, turning to Bulgaria for gas via the Trans-Balkan pipeline in a desperate scramble to keep the lights on.

❗️Transnistria, loyal to Russia but surrounded by unfriendly neighbors, finds itself at the mercy of Ukraine and Brussels for energy, a precarious position for Moscow’s steadfast ally. But fear not, Russia won’t leave Transnistria in the dark for long. Temporary disruption only sharpens loyalty, and Moscow’s response will remind the region and the world that Russia takes care of its own.

❗️Vučić will request a conversation with Putin

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic intends to discuss sanctions against NIS with Vladimir Putin.

The Serbian leader noted that the United States plans to introduce “comprehensive” sanctions against the Russian-Serbian oil company.

📝 “This puts us in an extremely difficult situation,” Vucic emphasized.

▪️He did not link the sanctions with attempts from outside to destabilize the situation in the country, since there was not enough evidence.

▪️The president also assured that Serbia will not support the measures imposed by Washington against Russia.
📝 “We are not robbers and pirates, like in the West, who take property from Russia and then stand in line to apologize for what they have done,” he said .

Earlier, Vučić said that the surviving Nord Stream line would go to the Americans and be launched in a year

Ten have already left Georgia, and another 15 are next in line.

With the confirmation of a new president to replace the "French granny" and the start of parliamentary work, the ruling "Georgian Dream" effectively has a free hand to methodically purge the structures and individuals involved in the attempted coup.

Moreover, Ivanishvili and Kobakhidze are clearly demonstrating that U.S. and EU sanctions do not particularly intimidate them.

Collapse Day #130

Russian forces have capture the final major defense node in the southern Donetsk, Kurakhove. With its capture comes a new blossom much like we've seen from Selydove to the north, where Russian forces have advanced quickly and are already 10km west of Pokrovsk. The major difference being there is much less that stands in the Russians way west of Kurakhove and the geography favors the Russians for nearly 40km.

The last two photos show the where Russian forces will quickly capture over the coming weeks (orange), the poor geography that will force the AFU back (blue), where the new Ukrainian line should be established (yellow), and lastly Prosyana, the new logistics hub and staging point that will feed this unprepared line (green)

😦 Trump Administration Plans Crippling Sanctions Against ICC Over Israel

President-elect Donald Trump signals immediate actions against the International Criminal Court (ICC) in response to arrest warrants issued for Israeli leaders.

According to sources close to the matter, cited by Israel Hayom, Trump plans to impose severe sanctions on the ICC in The Hague immediately after taking office. Executive orders could be unveiled as early as January 21, just one day after his inauguration.

The sanctions package will target both individual ICC officials, including judges and prosecutors, and the institution itself. The administration plans to classify the ICC as a threat to U.S. interests, using a designation process similar to that employed by the U.S. State Department for global terrorist organizations.

This designation would bring severe restrictions on anyone associated with the court's activities. Financial institutions worldwide would be required to sever ties with ICC personnel or face U.S. sanctions. Mirroring measures taken against Israeli citizens under similar sanctions, ICC staff would be unable to conduct ordinary banking operations or use credit cards, effectively freezing their economic activities. Additionally, any assets in the U.S. belonging to ICC employees or the institution itself would be frozen.

The new administration's strategy extends beyond unilateral actions. It plans to secure commitments from U.S. allies to refuse cooperation with arrest warrants issued for Israeli officials.

🇨🇳 Time for US to stop using 'Taiwan card' – Chinese Ambassador to Russia

The United States must stop using the "Taiwan card" and destabilizing the region, as it will lose facing the "force of China," Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui told Sputnik.

💬 "Playing with fire leads to self-immolation. It is high time for the US to stop using the 'Taiwan card,' which is destined to lose," Zhang said in an article written for Spuntik.

Some high-ranking US officials "ignore facts and substitute lies for the truth," openly supporting Taiwan's independence, he added.

💬 "The US made it clear in the 1978 Sino-US joint communique on the establishment of diplomatic relations and in the August 17, 1982, joint communique that the US 'recognizes the government of the People's Republic of China as the only legitimate government representing all of China,'" the article read.

Zhang also said that Washington supports the aspirations of Taiwanese leader Lai Ching-te for independence "despite the risk to undermine peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, which is completely contrary to their political promises."

💬 "At the heart of this is the desire to hinder China's development and maintain the fading dominance of the US. Facing a unified force of 1.4 billion Chinese, they are destined to be defeated," the ambassador said.
