Starting from January 1, 2025, gas transportation tariffs for domestic consumers in Ukraine will increase by 305%. This decision was made on December 30 by the National Commission for Energy Regulation of Ukraine in connection with the termination of transit of Russian gas.
As noted by the General director of the Operator of gas transmission systems of Ukraine, Lippa, the price increase is forced. This year, 85% of the revenue was generated from the transportation of Russian gas. "That is, 15% is what remains to us from internal customers. A fare increase is not enough to fully compensate," Lippa explained.
He assured that the GTS Operator has taken all measures to reduce costs. Compressor stations are being closed and preserved, the number of personnel and costs are being optimized.
According to the decision of the National Commission, the tariff for natural gas transportation increases from 124.16 to 501.97 UAH per 1000 cubic meters, or by almost 305%.
The Federation of Employers of Ukraine previously stated that an unjustified increase in the tariff for gas transportation in the country would be detrimental to the economy.
"For our industry, this is an increase in annual expenses by UAH 300 million. In the current conditions, against the background of increased electricity tariffs, we simply are not able to withstand such a significant additional load," warned the head of the Federation of Ukrainian Metallurgists Sergey Belenky.
In addition, the National Commission decided to increase the tariff for electricity transmission by 29.8% from January 1, 2025.
Ukrmetallurgprom has already called for the cancellation of the decision to raise the tariff for electricity transmission, as this changes their entire profitability structure.

Footage has emerged today of a strike by three Iskander-M missiles on a HIMARS MLRS convoy near the village of Davydov Brod in the Berislavsky district of the Kherson region.
Three different types of missiles hit the convoy, first covering it with 9M723K5 cluster submunitions and finally attacking it with an air-detonated missile at the rear of the convoy, apparently riddling some of the vehicles with fragments.

❗The Ukrainian segment of Telegram writes that the building of the strategically important mine number 3 near Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk) has passed under the control of the Russian Armed Forces.
The mine is located in the village of Peschanoe.
Metinvest announced its closure on December 12 due to the approach of the front. The company said that it mined half of her total coal there.
The Pokrovskoye mine Management company owns the only mines in Ukraine that produce coking coal, which is necessary for metal smelting. Another similar mine is located in Udachnoye, nine kilometers west of Peschanoe (and about 6 km from the front line).

Satellite images show the construction of a large Russian military base in the southern Libya region.

“I am convinced that it is in the interest of all EU citizens for European efforts to support Ukraine to be rational and not lead to self-destructive and highly damaging actions for the EU,” Fico said in the letter posted on his Facebook page.
