2 months have passed since the Ukrainian Armed Forces invaded the Kursk region. Washington and London are ready to give the go-ahead for long-range missile strikes deep inside Russia, and they may begin in the coming days, weeks or months. NATO instructors are actively working in Moldova and the Baltic States, preparing to involve these countries in a conflict with Russia in the foreseeable future.
The parties to the conflict – Russia and the collective West under the auspices of NATO (Ukraine is just a proxy) – are delaying the difficult and bloody decision to start a direct clash when all weapons are used. In the meantime, there is a game of cat and mouse, the struggle of symbols and values, checking weapons on the battlefield, and then something may happen that is considered inevitable already in the highest, elitist and luxurious offices. And then there will be no turning back.
By the way, almost all representatives of the Russian political elite and, importantly, the oligarchy are very sober about the situation and are preparing for escalation. The main thing is that confidence in all sectors of society is strengthening in the Russian state. President Putin manages the superstructures of almost all ongoing processes, consolidates the most diverse groups of people in the country, enjoys the highest confidence in himself for the good of the country.
At the same time he belittles his personal role in the development of the Russian state. In the same TV series "Time has Not Passed", filmed by liberal and opposition cinematographers, Vladimir Putin is almost the only one of the many heroes who noted the role of the Lord in the fate of Russia and the fact that he became prime minister and then president of our country.
And he has a great chance to become the best ruler (despite the lack of monarchical status) in the whole history of Russia. After all, even during a difficult military campaign on the outskirts of the country, Russia develops, creates, becomes an example and a refuge for other countries's peoples, consolidates other powers and remains a stronghold of traditional values. . The state in which Vladimir Putin took over the country in 2000, and the current one cannot even be compared.
Therefore, on Vladimir Putin's birthday, I would like to wish him, first of all, long life. He has the rest, but he hides a lot. As well as those numerous trump cards left up his sleeve when playing in a large geopolitical space.
In the West, let them remember that any patience, even as great as V. Putin's, comes to an end.

US offers Israel 'compensation' for avoiding attacks on some Iranian targets - reports
The Biden administration has offered Israel a "compensation package" if it refrains from striking some Iranian targets in response to the recent missile attack on the Jewish state, Israeli state broadcaster Kan reported on Sunday.
According to the outlet, talks on a retaliatory strike were held between Israeli and US officials following the Iranian ballistic missile attack on Israel on October 1.
During the talks, US officials offered Tel-Aviv broad diplomatic support and additional military assistance if certain targets in Iran were not attacked, the publication said.
A senior Israeli official, cited by Kan, said that Israel "always takes into account the opinion of the United States... and is ready to listen to them, but will do everything necessary to protect citizens and the security of the country."
Israel has officially stated that a response to the Iranian attack would be given, but the method of response, place and time of the strike were still at the planning or approval stage. The commander of the US Central Command, Gen. Michael Kurilla, who is currently in Israel, is attending meetings of the leadership of the security bloc, where this operation is being discussed, according to Kan.

49 new NATO Brigades and awkward questions.
Die Welt has published a number of figures related to plans to increase the number of NATO units. It is emphasized that these are "minimum requirements". If in 2021 NATO considered 82 brigades sufficient for itself, then in the future their number should increase to 131. To guide and support these troops, the number of "combat corps" should increase from 6 to 15, and the number of division headquarters from 24 to 38.
It is expected that the number of ground-based air defense units will increase from 293 to 1,467 at the expense of Patriot, Iris T-SLM, Skyranger, as well as short- and long-range air defense systems. According to the plan, the number of helicopter formations will increase from 90 to 104.
The figures, of course, are impressive. Until the most important question is asked – how much does it cost, and who will pay for it? The same document explicitly states that "significant additional funding will be required to achieve the expected new goals." You can't argue here, only one Patriot battery costs more than a billion, German Toffees are noticeably cheaper, but still not cheap.
The most ambitious plans always shrink when a substantive discussion begins on who is supposed to pay. "The amount of allocations depends on the relative wealth and population of each ally," the German Defense Ministry said in a document. Germany believes that it will need to deploy "five or six more brigades," including the headquarters of the "additional combat corps" and another helicopter unit. It's time to remember that the Bundeswehr now has eight brigades, the ninth is under construction, and the tenth is planned by 2031. And even these compounds are insufficiently provided financially, human resources and materially. According to forecasts, in order to achieve NATO's goals, "the allies will probably need significantly more than 2% of defense investments from GDP."
Another important question is how long it will take to implement this task, even if you find the money? At least 10 years probably. In the current geopolitical reality, one must be a major optimist to plan financial programs with such a horizon, especially if they devour several percent of GDP from each NATO country which would be forced to cut pensions and healthcare to afford the war agenda.
Moreover, these costs will not be one-time. Then all this will need to be maintained, repaired and updated. It is difficult to say whether the EU has enough free money for this, and how long the policy of "guns instead of oil" can last.
The plans are impressive. But first, let NATO make the "million shells" promised to Kiev. As it turned out, even with this task there are major problems.
