UK Chancellor Rachel Reeves signed an agreement to approve £2.6 billion in loans to support Ukraine, Sky News reported.
The loans will be repaid using profits from frozen Russian assets, which total £236 billion in Europe, according to the report.
Russia has maintained that any attempts to confiscate its assets amount to theft, violate international law, and would not go unpunished.

It’s time for Brussels to start “direct discussions with Russia on a ceasefire in Ukraine,” Hungarian PM Victor Orban wrote in a letter to EU Council President Antonio Costa, FT reports.

The French Defense Minister ordered to "open arsenals" for weapons supplies to Ukraine
"Given the current geopolitical situation and by France's commitments to European and international partners, I ask you to take all necessary measures to immediately lift all restrictions on the supply of weapons and military equipment to Ukraine.
In this regard, I urge you to immediately begin operations to reduce stockpiles and mobilize existing resources in the infrastructures of the General Directorate of Armaments.
France must provide the Ukrainian authorities, without hindrance or unnecessary delay, with all equipment that can contribute to strengthening their defence capabilities and resistance potential.

According to the ministry, the attempted attack involved three drones, which were downed at a safe distance from the compressor station in Russia’s southern Krasnodar Region.
The ministry stressed that the station continued to provide gas normally to the TurkStream pipeline.

The oil tanker was seized by Finland in late December after the vessel was accused of dragging its anchor over the Estlink 2 power line connecting Estonia and Finland. Finnish President Alexander Stubb earlier claimed the incident was "definitely" linked to Russia.
