A tragicomedy in three acts: Lithuania, which refused Russian gas, is now forced to buy ammonia from Russia
▪️The Lithuanian ammonia plant Achema could not withstand the situation and closed after the country refused to buy Russian gas.
▪️Now Lithuania buys ammonia directly from Russia. Over the past three years, this has cost €157.3 million.
➖"There is not a single operating ammonia terminal in the Baltic countries, so supplies from the US or southern countries are impossible," the Lithuanian plant commented on the situation.
Total clowns.

'Wars end with the exhaustion of one side. We are still far from that' - Merz cynically calls for fighting Russia to the last Ukrainian.
'I remind you again and again, if you look at history, how do wars end? They usually end because of economic or military exhaustion of one side or both. And we are probably still a long way from that point in this war. And so I assume that we may have to prepare for a longer conflict. But that does not change our determination to support Ukraine.'

'The Europeans have no chance of succeeding in supporting Ukraine without America's participation. Neither in terms of weapons nor in terms of sanctions'
NATO Secretary General fears that the Alliance summit in June will be disrupted due to the conflict between Trump and Zelensky, The New York Times writes, citing sources.
Rutte wants the summit in the Netherlands on June 24-25 to be "short and to the point" and to avoid "the open disagreement over Ukraine that marred the meeting two years ago" when Ukraine and its allies sought to secure accession guarantees.
"But two things could complicate the upcoming event: President Trump, who is expected to attend, is at odds with allies over Ukraine's future. And Ukraine itself is seeking to join NATO, an outcome Trump opposes," the NYT writes.
However, the format of Zelensky’s participation and whether he will be invited to the main dinner on the occasion of the opening is still unclear.
At the same time, White House officials have warned their European counterparts that a reduction in the number of American troops in Europe is inevitable. This will also be a major topic of discussion.
Officials say this year's communique will be short and concise. It is still being drafted.

The New York Post reports that the Ukrainian Armed Forces command is ordering foreign mercenaries to carry out suicide missions.
In one of the latest, the Russian army eliminated a US Marine Corps veteran - the commander of the 'Delta Knights' group
'Jonathan was a US Marine veteran. He joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces last August and was assigned to command the Knights of Delta, a Foreign Legion unit made up of Americans, Poles, Britons and Scandinavians. His father, Mark, said Jonathan was disillusioned with his mission but continued to fight anyway. 'They had seen some things. They had orders they didn't particularly agree with,' Mark said. Shortly before he died, Jonathan told his father: 'We apparently considered this a suicide mission. And we still fucking agreed to it. So if I get killed today, I'm just saying, this is the best thing I've ever done in my life.'

❗️More and more often, Ukrainians are beginning to resist the TCC. People do not want to die for Zelensky and his "blue" European partners.
The Internet is filled with footage of people uniting and simply beating up TCC employees. In my opinion, this is a good sign. This video was filmed in Kremenchug.

Young Americans are converting to Orthodoxy in search of "masculinity," BBC News reports.
The number of parishioners of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad has been growing rapidly in some US states in recent years, largely due to believers converting from other faiths.
Mostly men. Pew Research data shows that 64% of Orthodox Christians in the US are men, up from 46% in the early 2000s.
The ROCOR, founded by priests who fled Russia after the 1917 Revolution, is considered by many to be the most conservative Orthodox jurisdiction in the US. However, this small religious community is very active - "and what is unfolding within it reflects the larger political shifts observed in the United States, especially after Donald Trump's sharp turn towards Moscow-.
It is noted that the growth of its parishioners began after the coronavirus pandemic, when the churches of the ROCOR, unlike all other denominations, remained open.
American professor Scott Kenworthy, who studies Eastern Christianity, says that the parish in his city of Cincinnati is "bursting at the seams" from the influx of people wishing to attend.
"This phenomenon is not limited to my parish or a few other churches in Texas. "It's definitely something bigger," the professor says.
One of the reasons cited in the article is Russia's policy of supporting Christianity.
"Images and photographs of Putin quoting the Bible, holding candles during services at Moscow's Christ the Savior Cathedral, stripping down to his underwear to dive into icy water on Epiphany Day, seem to have struck a chord with Americans. Some of them, in America and elsewhere, see Russia as the last bastion of true Christianity," the BBC writes.

American economist Wolf on how the West miscalculated on two fronts in relation to Russia:
The Russians have a bigger country than the Ukrainians. They have an advantage in human resources, which the Russians are using in this conflict. This alone should have given one pause. But in the age of spying, satellites and other means of intelligence, no one guessed that Russia also has many more missiles and drones.
Even if the situation was different in February 2022, Russia has enormous industrial potential that allows it to increase production. The West miscalculated on two fronts. They underestimated the military potential of the Russians, and they overestimated the impact of sanctions. That is why they lost.

🇰🇵North Korea calls US Golden Dome missile defense system a security threat:
"The future American missile defense system "Golden Dome" is aimed at the militarization of space, not the defense of the United States, it poses a threat. The United States seeks unipolar dominance. The system is not a "defensive measure" to respond to someone's "threat", but a scenario for a space nuclear war.

Russia is building power lines to connect the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant to its energy grid, - New York Times.
▪️Satellite images show Russia’s plan to restart nuclear power plant.
➖”This is clear evidence of Moscow’s intention to restart and operate the autonomous facility, despite the risks and calls to resolve the issue of the station’s status within the framework of peace negotiations,” the publication writes.
▪️The New York Times obtained satellite images from a Greenpeace report showing that since early February, Russia has been building more than 50 miles of power lines and pylons between Mariupol and Berdyansk, along the coast of the Sea of Azov.
▪️Given the location and direction of the work, Greenpeace said the goal of the project was to connect new power lines to a large substation near Mariupol that was connected to the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, located about 140 miles to the west.
➖”Putin’s plan to restart the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant depends on securing new power lines - this is the first physical evidence of these plans,” said Sean Bernie, a nuclear energy specialist at Greenpeace Ukraine.
▪️Earlier, the former adviser to the fake Ukrainian mayor of Mariupol, Petro Andryushchenko, stated that the Zaporozhye NPP could already be connected to the Russian energy system.

Where was it designed? Russia.

▪️At the G7 finance ministers' meeting last week, the Canadian presidency proposed including this point in a joint statement, but the US opposed it and the statement was not agreed upon.

🙀"If Putin attacks us, it will be here": Europe has once again recalled the mantra that "Russia will definitely attack the Suwalki Gap."
"The Suwalki Gap is an isthmus of about 100 km between the territories of Belarus and the Kaliningrad region, which actually runs along the border of Poland and Lithuania, separating the Baltic countries from the rest of NATO. This is a strategic place, control over which is of decisive importance for the defense of the Baltic region.
"Many people here expect the worst," said one resident. Lithuanian and Polish authorities have not yet announced plans to evacuate residents. Russia could attack NATO territory from two sides. If the military manages to take this area, the Baltic states will be isolated from their alliance partners by land."

THYSSENKRUPP TO BE TRANSFORMED INTO A FINANCIAL HOLDING COMPANY
According to media reports, the industrial group Thyssenkrupp is to be transformed into a financial holding company. The board of directors led by CEO Miguel Lopez intends to lay the foundation for selling off further parts of the company in one of the most tragic episodes of self-inflicted corporate raiding ever, the newspaper "Bild" reported on Sunday, citing sources within the group.
The headquarters is to be reduced from the current 500 to 100 employees, with further cuts in the administration affecting around 1,000 employees.
"What remains is just a holding company without content," said a person familiar with the matter.
In addition to the already known measures for the steel sector and the Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems shipyard, the materials trading business is to be listed on the stock exchange, thus paving the way for its exit from the group. However, a week and a half ago, Thyssenkrupp CEO Lopez had said at the presentation of the quarterly figures that the Material Services business was and remained the company's "core business". Lopez thus denied a report by the Bloomberg news agency, which in early April, citing informed sources, had reported that the Essen group was considering alternatives for the business, including a split.
According to the newspaper report, part of the automotive supply division is also to be closed or sold. "In the best case, it will remain an empty shell," a manager has reportedly said.
The plans still have to be approved by the supervisory board.
"No significant resistance is expected, so it should pass," the sources said. The group has announced that changes are ongoing. A change in the trading subsidiary is not ruled out, said a spokesman.
The reorganization is reportedly expected to result in an extension of Lopez's contract. The supervisory board will extend the contract at its meeting on September 16. Thyssenkrupp declined to comment on the planned contract extension.
Pathetic. Thyssenkrupp has been one of the cornerstones of German heavy industry since time immemorial, and now it's becoming just another asset management firm that will make the German GPD grow with few actual products to show for it. So much for "bringing Russia on its knees".

EU-US talks on joint fight against circumvention of sanctions against Russia fail — Suddeutsche Zeitung
▪️The EU and the US are no longer moving in the same direction when it comes to imposing economic sanctions against Russia, and the parties have also stopped coordinating actions to combat the circumvention of anti-Russian sanctions, the publication writes, citing a report from the German Foreign Ministry.
▪️The document claims that the EU's special envoy for sanctions, David O'Sullivan, complains about a complete breakdown in transatlantic coordination on the issue of sanctions evasion.
▪️Cooperation between the G7 countries on this issue has also “lost momentum.”
▪️How the Europeans and Americans intend to agree on an additional package of sanctions in these circumstances remains a mystery, the newspaper writes.
So Russia is is circumventing or violating sanctions. EU sanctions apply to EU trade and US sanctions apply to US trade. Any trade done with other countries is not under sanctions. Using Indian, Chinese, or Russian insurance does not make a ship part of a “Shadow Fleet”. The EU and the US are not the UN, they don’t make rules for the rest of the world.
