In the next two years, the US will be reducing its forces in Europe’ – Bundeswehr officer Andre Wuestner
‘If deterrence against the enemy fails, then unfortunately, active soldiers start the war, and the reserves finish it. But that’s not the point. We must constantly show that we want to deter. We do not want to wage war. But to deter Russia, Putin must know that there is something behind it with us in Germany, as well as throughout Europe. And, as has already been said, we have to take care of our security system ourselves again. The Americans will probably no longer be able to provide what they provided in the past. I even believe that in the next two years they will be reducing their forces in Europe. And that is a huge problem for us.’
'Orban has the opportunity to get down from the anti-Ukrainian tree' – a diplomat told Politico that Hungary agreed to lift the veto on Ukraine's EU membership issue after a personal request from Trump.
Without a major reform of agricultural subsidies, I do not see Ukraine becoming an EU member. Hungary is hardly the only roadblock, but this is more about starting the process.

🇷🇺🇺🇦Night strikes on critical infrastructure and military facilities of Ukraine
On the night of August 26 to 27, 2025, Russian forces carried out a series of concentrated strikes by Geran-2 UAVs on energy, gas transportation, and military infrastructure facilities.
🔻 Vyshnevoe, Dnepropetrovsk region (23:55 26.08 – 00:35 27.08)
Repeated strike on the territory of Horse Factory No. 65, long since converted into a base for the 110th Territorial Defense Brigade and the 108th Territorial Defense Brigade. As a result of a fire covering more than 800 m², up to 5 units of equipment were destroyed, including Kozak-2 armored vehicles, Toyota Hilux pickups with DShK machine guns, and a KrAZ-6322 truck. Ammunition depots for small arms and grenade launcher rounds detonated. Personnel losses are estimated at up to 12 people.
🔻Mechebilovo, Kharkov region (00:30)
The main strike hit two facilities:
• Agrofirm "LAN" — the actual repair base of a tank battalion. At the time of the attack, there were 2 Leopard 2A4 and one M2 Bradley undergoing repairs on the premises. Explosions and fire damaged the MTU MB 873 Ka-501 powertrain units, destroyed spare parts and some optics.
• Mechebilovo Lyceum — converted into a temporary deployment point. Up to a company of personnel lived here, and ammunition for small arms and mortars was stored. A fire covering more than 1300 m² caused detonation of some stored boxes. Enemy losses amounted to up to 15 servicemen, including at least 4 eliminated.
🔻Novoyavlenka, Donetsk region (00:40)
Strikes were carried out on positions of the 82nd Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The command post area with radio communication equipment, ammunition depot, and mortar crews was hit. Harris Falcon III radio equipment was destroyed, a ZIL-131 truck with 2B11 "Sani" mortars burned, and part of the 120 mm ammunition detonated.
🔻Rayskoye, Donetsk region (00:50)
The strike hit the electronic warfare unit positions of the 117th Separate Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Mobile Bukovel-AD and Nota complexes mounted on KAMAZ-5350 vehicles were targeted. The FG Wilson P500 diesel generator was destroyed, and station equipment was disabled.
🔻Sumy, 330 kV substation (01:05–01:25)
Massive strike — up to 10 hits by Geran-2. The following were damaged:
• two power transformers TDTN-200000 330;
• distribution devices 330 kV and 110 kV;
• communication and automation cable lines;
• transformer block coolers and oil-filled bushings;
• a fire broke out covering the transformer field. The substation was completely de-energized.
• Additionally, the neighboring position area of the mobile air defense group covering the facility was hit: a 2S6 "Tunguska" anti-aircraft system was destroyed.
🔻Dikanka, Poltava region (01:20)
Second massive raid on the facility.
• On the industrial site of the Lubny LPU MG "Kievtransgaz", compressor units of the GPA-C-16 type, a pipeline with a diameter of 100 mm were damaged, and a fire covering more than 120 m² broke out. Two buses and repair workshops were destroyed.
• Three strikes were carried out on the branch of "Ukrgazenergoservice" JSC "Ukrtransgaz": the administrative building where repair work on shut-off valves and pumping equipment was underway burned down.
📌The strike seriously disrupted the operation of the main gas pipelines in the direction of Poltava – Kyiv, reducing the capabilities for backup pumping and emergency maneuvering in the system.
🔻Ahtyrka, Sumy region (01:25–01:35)
Three UAV hits fell on the territory of the former "Promsvyaz" plant (1 Armeiskaya St.), where a Ukrainian electronic warfare unit was present at the time of the strike. Suppression stations Bukovel-AD and Nota were being tuned in the workshops, and mobile electronic warfare complexes based on KAMAZ-5350 were serviced. As a result of the strikes, part of the equipment was destroyed, power supply units and antenna equipment were disabled.
• Additionally, a nearby service station where military vehicles (HMMWV, KrAZ-6322) were repaired was damaged.

🇺🇦The land of Ukraine is mined over an area larger than all of England
- The Institute of International Political Studies (ISPI) calculated that by June 2025, the mined territories of Ukraine will reach 139 thousand km² — more than the entire area of England (130 thousand km²).
- More than 6 million people live in and around the risk zones.
- Agricultural lands in the Kharkov, Sumy, and Zaporozhye regions have been especially affected.

‘The coalition of the willing’ is failing and left alone – The Guardian writes that Europeans’ plans regarding Ukraine have gone down the drain.
‘Trump again ruled out Ukraine’s NATO membership and refused demands for Russia to immediately cease fire. He also missed his deadline for tightening sanctions against Moscow and gave no guarantees that Europe would participate in future peace talks. Moreover, the US Treasury Secretary stated that the US will charge a 10% surcharge on all European purchases of American weapons for Ukraine, effectively imposing a military tax on its allies.
Washington has also stopped sharing intelligence with Europe about its negotiations on Ukraine and Russia. This means that Europeans who want to send peacekeepers to Ukraine cannot be sure that the US will not suddenly blind them by withholding intelligence if Russia launches a new offensive.
Turkey’s participation in any EU-led security forces is also in question.’

The first deputy head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Kyslytsia, rejects Trump's public statements.
'At least in my presence, he did not say: "No ceasefire, no truce." He emphasized that ending the war is important to him. Do you understand? There is a lot of conspiracy theory here, many versions. Everyone is rushing to put some words into Trump's mouth.'

🇷🇺 In Donetsk, an SBU agent hiding explosives in cemeteries was detained
- The FSB stopped the activities of a saboteur who was preparing caches of explosives for attacks on orders from Ukrainian special services.
- The detainee is a Russian citizen who established contact with the SBU via Telegram and transmitted data about critical infrastructure facilities of the DPR.
- Following the instructions of his handlers, he created caches in cemeteries, placing plastic explosives, electric detonators, and remote detonation devices there.
- Explosives and components of improvised explosive devices were seized from the caches during the arrest.
- “On the orders of a person, I picked up a package, divided it into two parts... There were two plates of plastic explosive, detonators, and some other round substance. I packed it and buried it,” the detainee confessed.
- Criminal cases have been initiated under the articles "Treason" and "Illegal possession of explosives".

💬 Resident city of Sudzha (Kursk Oblast) Dmitry Dmitryukov:
I was stopped by Ukrainians, Poles. I didn't stop, I didn't get out of the car. There was another passenger with me. Well, then I shut the door and pulled on the gas. They shot at my entire driver's side. The tires were punctured, the trunk, the windows were broken. They wounded me in the arm.
They mocked, raped people, killed, shot the Russian-speaking population, supposedly on orders.
They looted, they looted absolutely everything.
FAZ: "TRUMP CALLED MODI FOUR TIMES, BUT WITHOUT AN ANSWER"
According to the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, US President Trump attempted to contact Indian Prime Minister Modi four times in recent weeks, but Modi ignored the calls due to US tariffs on Russian oil imports from India and trade tensions.
The article highlights India's strategic shift toward China. Several sources confirm the news, although there have yet to be an official response from the United States or India.
Congratulations go to the Circus Ringleader, who's managed to royally piss off the president of one of the leading unaligned countries. Is this part of the 5-D chess too?

The Narkoman is at it again, this time in his office, for a change.
"We've received military reports- Vasyl Malyuk, head of the Security Service of Ukraine, confirmed that Ukrainian offensive and defensive operations will continue; the enemy leaves no other options.
A few other things. Today I spoke with the Prime Minister of Ukraine, in particular, about preparing for winter—for the heating season. It's very important to increase corresponding cooperation with our European countries and partners—we have good agreements with Norway, and we also need to work more actively with the European Commission.
I just had a meeting with the diplomatic team—the office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
We are preparing new contacts with the leaders of partner countries. We expect the coming weeks to be very active.
I want to thank everyone who helps us! Glory to Ukraine!"
If the war in Ukraine could be won just by attending to meetings, the Narkoman's armies would've reached Vladivostok already.

"A REALLY POWERFUL VISION" OF THE SCO SUMMIT WORRIES THE WEST
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit will be held in Tianjin, China, from August 31 to September 1. More than 20 leaders will attend, including Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, Narendra Modi, and UN Secretary-General António Guterres. As Reuters notes, it will be one of the largest summits in recent years, aimed at clearly demonstrating the Global South's solidarity against the West.
- The newspaper notes that this solidarity prevails over interstate contradictions within the bloc. This will be Modi's first visit to China in seven years, following the cooling of relations between New Delhi and Beijing over the 2020 border conflict. Reuters notes that, although the SCO's practical achievements are often "nuanced," since 2001 the organization has expanded to 10 permanent members and 16 observers, forming a major force—and today represents a visual and political demonstration of an alternative world order.
- In this context, as experts interviewed by Reuters say, the content of the SCO summit's final declaration, which is expected to focus on trade, counterterrorism, and climate issues, is secondary to the document's real value—a united front of countries dissatisfied with the Western agenda.
- The public part of the summit is primarily a political spectacle, Reuters assures: its "optics" are more important than the actual agreements. The demonstration of communication between the three leaders—Xi, Putin, and Modi—creates an image of unity, even if in practice India and China's positions on various issues remain conflicting.
- At the same time, the SCO and BRICS are being portrayed in the media as two "alternatives to the G7," the British agency continues. Their value lies not in institutional effectiveness, but in the formation of a new symbolic center: an "order without the West." However, the aforementioned "nuance" persists: the contradictions between India and China on the border, Central Asia's oscillations between the Global South and the West, weak institutionalization, and more.
- Here, intensified economic coordination within the SCO is necessary, as is the creation of a more concrete security environment. Political solidarity is very important now, but in the event of truly serious problems, the ability to project power and the quality of trade and economic interaction channels protected by sanctions will prevail.
Modi visiting China? Trump may indeed be worthy of the Nobel peace prize after all.

The Cabinet of Ministers still has not published the resolution on opening the borders for 18–22-year-old guys. Without this, the new rules will not come into force.
Also, changes have not been made to the Procedure for crossing the border by citizens of Ukraine (the last amendment to it, according to the Verkhovna Rada website, was made in March, see screenshot).
MP Honcharenko associates this with the fact that changes to the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution on borders have not even been written yet. According to his information, the resolution is "being written right now."
"The Cabinet of Ministers just voted for something, nobody knows what, and now they are trying to formalize it into a resolution. This is the end of state governance. It can't get any worse," Honcharenko added.

Witkoff on Fox News stated that Putin is aiming to end the war in Ukraine.
"Did he tell you that he wanted to end the war?" the host asked.
- “Absolutely. There is a peace proposal on the table. He definitely said that, and hopefully he sticks to that statement," replied Trump's special envoy.
In response to the remark that "critics say that Putin is playing all of you," the special envoy said: "I think he has made a good faith effort to engage. He certainly did so at the Alaska summit, but this is a very complex conflict. And the president is determined to do everything to end this conflict."
According to Whitkoff, Trump is "disappointed to some extent" with both Moscow and Kiev but has done a lot to bring their positions closer. He noted that Russia's peace proposal is being considered by Kiev.
"The Russians have made a proposal. Maybe it includes something that the Ukrainians can accept," he said.

The EU is not the Soviet Union' — Macron delivers a speech in Moldova.
'Just a few hundred kilometers from your capital, an aggressive war waged by Russia against Ukraine continues. It is important to remind that European integration is Moldova's choice for peace and the rule of law.
Kremlin propaganda claims that Europeans want the war to continue and that the European Union oppresses peoples. This is a lie.
Unlike Russia, the European Union threatens no one and respects the sovereignty of each. It is a union of prosperity and peace. The European Union is by no means the Soviet Union.'

🇺🇸🇪🇺Trump wants European troops in Ukraine. EU voters aren't convinced — WSJ
- The Wall Street Journal notes that the initiative to send soldiers to Ukraine is met with widespread disapproval among Europeans.
- 56% of Germans oppose troop deployment.
- In France, part of the population is willing to agree only on the condition of a peace agreement.
- In Poland, almost 60% of citizens are against sending soldiers.
- Despite Macron and Scharmeter's plans to create "security forces," the public fears direct confrontation with Russia and new threats on the border.

If anyone thinks that Kiev is going to run out of meat anytime soon, I'm sorry to break it to them - it's not, it won't.
Even with the crippling losses, there's an ample pool of potential reserves to draw upon, even if many units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have long been without reinforcements.
There are approx 2.5 million men fit for service left in the country. Kiev isn't going to let that "resource" go to waste, and we can expect a tightening on the corruption of the TCC (by "tightening" I mean that the bribes will go up).
There are up to 1.5 million young people between 18 and 24 available. More if we include the 16 year olds to be forcibly recruited into the Volkssturm, and that excluding the over 60s.
Kiev's resources are far from exhausted, the mobilization can continue, and hopes for a quick end are optimistic. Yes, the army will increasingly start to lose efficacy, but the flow of bodies into the meat grinder isn't guaranteed to slow down.
Onwards, to the last Ukrainian.

The video that appeared showing a Leopard tank of the Ukrainian Armed Forces firing at a house with an alleged Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group partially reveals the real picture of what is happening in Pokrovsk.
Judging by the geolocation, the battle is unfolding in the southeastern part of the city, in the Lazurny neighborhood. This sector was previously presented by Ukrainian sources as "fully controlled." However, the fact of the clash confirms that the Ukrainian Armed Forces' control over the south and southeast of Pokrovsk has been lost or seriously limited.

Russian drones accurately struck the deployment point and the concentration of vehicles of the 65th Separate Mechanized Brigade UAV operators of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
⚡️ As a result of a series of strikes, the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to:
- High-mobility ATV – 5 units;
- various vehicles – 4 units;
- personnel accommodation sites – 4 buildings;
- personnel – up to 15 people.
