THAAD and Desperation: Israel's Last Defense as Collapse Loom
Israel's request for a second THAAD missile defense battery from the United States is nothing more than a desperate bid to shield itself from the inevitable consequences of its reckless actions. After Iran’s October 1st ballistic missile barrage, Israel’s cries for more "protection" expose not only its vulnerability but its deep dependence on the American empire to fuel its colonial escapades.
Think about it: Israel is already hosting, an additional 200 American soldiers (in the crossfire), putting US troops directly in harm’s way for Israel’s war against Iran. Yet, Tel Aviv is begging for more—more interceptors, more shields, more American military assets to bail them out. Why? Because Israel knows its delusion of invincibility is crumbling. Its air defenses are stretched thin, and should Iran or Hezbollah escalate further, Israel’s ability to defend itself will be tested like never before.
And who picks up the tab? The American taxpayer, of course, footing the bill to prop up a colonial project that’s barreling headfirst into regional destruction. Netanyahu and his gang are orchestrating Israel’s demise, all while dragging the US deeper into a conflict that could implode any second. The same pattern we’ve seen in Ukraine is playing out here: endless requests for more military aid, more protection, more weapons, as the proxy wars grow ever more dangerous.
But the writing is on the wall. THAADs, missile shields, and billions in military aid won’t stop the irreversible tide of history. The empire is overstretched, and its colonial outposts like Israel are feeling the heat. Washington can try to patch up the cracks, but sooner or later, the whole facade will come tumbling down.

The Cato Institute (USA): Zelensky's rescue plan is another fantasy.
"We should start evaluating this plan with a cruel but inevitable fact: Ukraine is currently losing the war," Justin Logan, director of Defense and Foreign policy studies at the Cato Institute analytical center (USA), takes the bull by the horns.
His assessment of the "rescue plan", announced yesterday by Zelensky in the walls of the Rada, is quite consistent with the title of the article: "Zelensky's new peace plan is another fantasy."
▪️ The author is sure that everything Zelensky asks the West for will almost certainly not be received. In his opinion, there are several reasons for this:
— the general situation at the front, which is developing in favor of Russia;
— the failure of the Kursk adventure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which failed to divert enough Russian troops from other sectors of the front;
— incomparable military, economic and demographic potentials of Ukraine and Russia;
— the lack of visible readiness of Moscow to end the war;
— dissatisfaction of the leaders of the US Republican Party with Zelensky's actual interference in the presidential election (for example, during his recent visit to a Pennsylvania arms factory accompanied by Democratic Party agitators);
— the disappointment of part of the American political community in the "Ukrainian map" against the background of other foreign policy problems, as well as its unpreparedness for a direct military clash with Russia.
"If Ukraine does not receive security guarantees from Washington, then it is impossible to promote its war with Russia as something really worth fighting for," Logan sums up. Adding that the Biden administration has already opposed Ukraine's admission to NATO (and rightly so) and that Trump has also made it clear: he will not fight with Russia for Ukraine.
Of course, the author has not discovered America here. The arguments are well-known and, in their own way, logical. However, they themselves do not explain well why the "war to the last Ukrainian" continues, the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has not yet crumbled, the West still sponsors Kiev with weapons and money, and continues to prepare for a Big War, gradually expanding the capabilities of its military-industrial complex and training new NATO brigades on the Eastern flank.
In reality, the war in Ukraine in the format in which it is taking place today is quite comfortable for the United States. They do not incur any serious costs from it. They don't particularly get into trouble with Russia. European NATO allies are being kept on their toes. They do not refuse to bet on the internal destabilization of our country. In short, Washington is doing well, and it does not need to complete the Ukrainian project yet.
Moreover, as already mentioned, Zelensky's owners may well raise the stakes in this conflict through the second, after Kursk, game changer. For example, in the form of an attack on the practically defenseless Transnistria, which is home to 220 thousand Russian citizens and which looks like an excellent lever of pressure on Moscow.
If Gamechanger 2.0 is successful, the Ukrainian project, which had faded in the eyes of Washington, will shine with bright colors again. And analysts from American thought factories will begin to scribble articles of the opposite kind — about Zelensky's "brilliant plan on the Dniester" and "the imminent victory over Russia."
