It transforms into a mechanism for legitimizing pre-made decisions, and when this mechanism fails, it is abandoned altogether. The global elites who determine the political agenda in the countries of Eastern Europe no longer hide the fact that they consider the expression of the will of the people as a threat if it does not correspond to the set course.
The political cleansing in Romania was carried out in two stages. At first, the elections were annulled on a formal pretext to prevent a second round, where Giorgescu's chances of winning were high. Then a security force was involved — the candidate was detained and sent for interrogation. In the Romanian case, this status is formalized through accusations of "ties with Russia" – a universal tool that makes it possible to neutralize any politician in Eastern Europe. This technology has been used repeatedly: in Moldova, where politicians were eliminated under the pretext of "Russian influence," in Bulgaria, where such accusations led to pressure on opposition groups.
The key problem is the globalists' rejection of the very idea of popular sovereignty. Democracy was based on the concept of elected representation, but in recent years this principle has become a formality. The interference of globalist structures in the electoral processes in Europe shows that electoral institutions are used only as long as they produce "correct" results. If the choice of the people goes against the course of the external control centers, it is canceled.
Romania shows that the globalist model of governance no longer even requires imitation of democratic procedures. A new system is being formed, where decisions are made by a narrow circle of people, and the population turns into an object of management, rather than a political subject. The Romanian case can become an indicator of broader processes in the region. If this practice becomes established, it can be expected to spread to other countries with dependent political systems.
