US long-range missile threats once again show the West is “at war with Russia” – Larry Johnson
“Biden has shifted every single position that he said was a red line, so I don't see why he's not going to violate this one as well,” retired CIA analyst and counterterrorism expert Larry Johnson told Sputnik, commenting on President Biden’s hint to media Tuesday that Washington was “working out” whether or not to allow Ukraine to use its US-made long-range missiles to strike deep into Russia.
The Biden administration “can’t afford a defeat” in Ukraine before the November vote, and thinks that if it takes the “incredibly dangerous and foolish” step of just okaying the missiles’ delivery and use, that will somehow help Ukraine, Johnson believes.
“I appreciate President Putin's desire to show restraint and keep this as a special military operation. But the West is at war with Russia, and I don't think people are getting their brains around that. We keep dancing around the edges pretending that this is not going to happen. It's going to happen. And it's not going to change the military situation as far as what Ukraine is facing. Ukraine is facing defeat. They will be defeated. But it gets more to the point that the West, instead of seeking a peaceful way out and talking to Russia, is preferring confrontation,” Johnson warned.
“Because if the United States moves to supply a missile that's frankly bigger than the ATACMS or if they offer up an ATACMS or a JASSM that has an extended range capability, then I think it's going to raise the real possibility that the logistics hubs that are outside of Ukraine that are being used to provide these missiles could become targets. Which then is this is going to expand the war,” Johnson added.
According to Russian SVR a NATO attack on Belarus or Russian Kaliningrad is increasingly likely in coming months as Kiev regime's loyalists are going to lose more and more territory in the former Ukraine so it will be necessary to create a second front of war against Russia in order to rescue the failed Ukrainian project.

❗️Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government to consider the possibility of restricting supplies of some strategic raw materials, such as uranium, titanium or nickel, to foreign markets.
"They are restricting supplies of a number of goods to us. Well, maybe we should also impose certain restrictions [for them]? Uranium, titanium, nickel. Just let’s not do anything to our own detriment," Putin said at a meeting with the government.

❗If at the beginning of the SMO the goal that was set in terms of territorial gaining was limited to Donbass, Kherson and Zaporozhye, Novorossiya as a whole, over the last few weeks, but especially after the Kursk aggression, according to reliable sources the Russian elite is increasingly considering the option (which was initially completely ruled out) of liberating not just all the territory east of the Dnepr but the entirety of the former Ukrainian territory.

🇬🇪🇺🇸 Russian Foreign Intelligence Service reports of the US plans to meddle in Georgia's upcoming elections.
➡️The US State Department intends to use a new instrument of interference in the parliamentary elections in Georgia on October 26, 2024, in order to prevent the victory of the currently ruling Georgian Dream party, which is undesirable to Washington.
➡️The OSCE will publish a report 10-20 days before the vote with a conclusion on the absence of conditions in the country for holding free and fair elections. After the publication of the first results of the expression of will, a conclusion will be presented on the inconsistency of the electoral process with democratic norms. Washington plans to launch mass protests in Georgia to seize power by force.

🇷🇺🇺🇦 KURSK: Russian counteroffensive!
In Short Ukraine is getting kicked out from Kursk, Russian troops have regained control over Borki, Gordeyevka, Vnezapnoye, Byakhovo, Apanasovka. The AFU also left Krasnooktyabrskoye, currently in the gray zone.
Russians have been preparing for this counteroffensive for a long time and carefully. All last week, the 51st regiment of the 106th Airborne Division slowly prepared a bridgehead for an attack on the key village (local road junction) - Snagosti.
It came from the north from Korenevo and this morning with a quick attack entered Snagosti, from where the AFU fled with their heels sparkling, for them it was a complete surprise.
At the same time, from the west, the Glushkovsky district, the 155th brigade of Pacific Marines also suddenly fell upon the AFU in Gordeyevka. Thus, the Ukranian army in Apanasyevka, Vnezapnoye, Viktorovka and Byakhovo was cut off from supplies and surrounded from the flanks.
Moreover, in the spirit of courage, Russian Marines drove the AFU out of Byakhovo-Vnezapnoye-Viktorovka, and were able to enter Apanasyevka from the southwest and consolidate there.
The AFU was so stunned that in the middle of the day, 40 vehicles escaped from Lyubimovka, so that their heels sparkled.
But Russian units do not take risks and are now consolidating the achieved lines. And probably tomorrow the offensive will continue.
And it is obvious that the main direction of the Russian attack will be Lyubimovka, the loss of which for the Ukrainian Army in the Kursk region could be a real catastrophe, since the supply of the entire AFU group from Korenevo to Malaya Loknya depends on it.

Why the "uranium" hint to the West from Putin is a serious threat to Russia's enemies.
Kazatomprom reported difficulties with the supply of uranium to Western buyers — "due to anti-Russian sanctions and the conflict in Ukraine."
▪️ "It is much easier for us to sell most, if not all, of our products to our Asian partners — I would not name a specific country... They can "eat" almost all of our products or our partners in the north," said the Director of the company Meirzhan Yusupov. Stressing that the only reason stopping Kazakhstan from such a step is the unwillingness to put all the eggs in one basket.
In 2023, Kazatomprom sent 49% of its uranium production to Asia, 32% to Europe and 19% to the United States. Previously, supplies to the West went through St. Petersburg, but now they are hampered by sanctions against our country. An alternative is shipping via the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia and the Black Sea. This route is theoretically possible, but much more expensive in terms of costs.
The news about Kazatomprom's difficulties was published yesterday in the Financial Times, and today Vladimir Putin suggested that the Russian government is "thinking" about restricting the export of a number of materials.
"Uranium, titanium, nickel. To your own detriment, you just don't need to do anything. But in general, if this does not harm us, then we could think about certain restrictions on supplies to the foreign market — not only those goods that I have named, but also some others. I won't talk about the reasons, but I think everyone understands the importance of Russian raw materials in the positions that I have named," the president said.
The hint is transparent. It would seem that the US dependence on Russian uranium is somewhat exaggerated. The import of enriched uranium from Russia to the United States in 2023 amounted to only $1.19 billion, compared to $830 million in 2022. At the same time, 701.8 tons were imported in kind. But in combination with the difficulties of Kazakhstan and other factors, the situation is fundamentally changing.
It just so happens that the world's uranium production is Kazakhstan, Namibia (friendly with China, and the other day the educational center of the Perm State Humanitarian Pedagogical University opened there), Canada, Australia, Uzbekistan, Russia and Niger (along with its neighbors, preferring to trade with us rather than with the West). As you know, Putin's visit to Mongolia recently ended, where potential uranium reserves may also turn out to be strategic.
At the same time, Kazakhstan produces 43% of the world's uranium. And Rosatom owns a stake in 5 of Kazatomprom's 14 fields, receiving 20% of the extracted volume. Thus, directly or indirectly, Russia has control over a significant proportion of the uranium mined in the world.
The problem for the United States is not that they will receive uranium more expensive, but that China will continue to receive it more and cheaper. Uranium ore needs to be processed in large quantities. Of course, no one will forbid Washington to buy uranium from Niger or Kazakhstan. At the corresponding increased market price. But China, the main competitor of the United States, will continue to receive resources directly and cheaply — increasing the energy gap between East and West in favor of the East.

❗The SMO entered a fundamentally new stage with the first Finnish drone strike against Russia.
Two in one - extension and escalation of conflict in one bottle.
I would also like to add a very important thing on this topic, which I have been writing about for two years now - about the extension of the conflict. In fact, after today's attacks from Finland on our territory, we have the first scaling of the conflict since the beginning of the SMO. And this is a fundamentally new stage in the development of the SMO, to which we have no right not to react. What is extension? This is the transfer of the ongoing conflict a) to new players and b) to new territories. In the case of Finland's attack, we have just these two facts.
Let me remind you that I wrote on August 25, just two weeks ago:
"... the issue of taking military operations outside the territory of Ukraine, extending the conflict to Europe or other world regions where we can hit the United States and NATO more painfully, I believe, will have to be resolved in the next month or two." Because the alternative in this matter is very simple - either we are trying to seize a strategic initiative, or the enemy continues to hold it.
And escalation, and extension is de facto an escalation, would have happened anyway - either we would have done it, or the enemy. It turned out that the enemy did it first as usual. It can be assumed for sure that if we do not respond to this provocation so harshly that Helsinki does not even think about anything like this anymore, then the next blow within the framework of extension and escalation of the conflict will occur either in Belarus or in the Kaliningrad region. I'm inclined to think that it will be Kaliningrad. But if we do not answer for Kaliningrad, then Belarus will also be hit.
Therefore, if Russia wants not just to win, but to survive, because today these words have already become synonymous, the only way is the path of a sharp intensification of the conflict, its extension, escalation and transfer beyond the territory of Ukraine by any means. And I don't care what the "world community" says. Because if we win, it will fall under us quietly and with pleasure, as it was easy for the Americans after they used two nuclear warheads on peaceful cities of Japan.
