Journalist Hersh sees Germany in turmoil since Nord Stream sabotage
The American fear was that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz might let the Russian gas flow, easing German economic worries, he wrote.
Germany has been in economic and political turmoil since the Nord Stream natural gas pipelines were blown up, US investigative journalist and Pulitzer Prize winner Seymour Hersh opined in his blog on Substack.
On February 8, 2023, Hersh wrote that, in June 2022, with assistance from Norwegian experts, the Navy divers planted the remotely triggered explosives that, three months later, destroyed three of the four Nord Stream pipelines. Later, The New York Times reported, citing US officials, that the sabotage on the gas pipelines could have been carried out by a certain "pro-Ukrainian group" that acted without the knowledge of the US authorities.

The Nastasya is a hybrid aircraft. It can take off and land vertically like a quadcopter and fly like an airplane.
Its airplane-like wings allow it to fly at high speeds and over long distances.
A spokesman for the manufacturer, Almaz-Antey Group, told Sputnik that the aircraft is capable of transmitting a signal over a radius of 100 km.

Von der Leyen announces the integration of the Armed Forces into the EU defense programs

Martial law and mobilization extended in Ukraine
The Verkhovna Rada adopted the bills introduced by President Vladimir Zelensky.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine extended the martial law in the country for another 90 days. The regime has been extended in Ukraine for the tenth time in a row since February 24, 2022.
The Ukrainian parliament passed bills introduced by President Vladimir Zelensky on the extension of martial law until May 13, 2024. 335 deputies of the Rada out of 355 spoke in favor, 20 people did not vote.
In addition, Rada approved Zelensky’s decree on the extension of mobilization, Ukrainian media reported. It is noted that the next extension of martial law will make it legally impossible to hold a presidential election in the spring.

Zelensky isn't coping with his duties, said the General of the Armed Forces
Head of the Kiev regime Vladimir Zelensky no longer copes with his duties, and therefore should be replaced. This opinion was expressed on February 6 by the retired general of the AFU Sergey Krivonos on the Ukrainian television channel "Direct".

Residents of border regions who have lost their homes due to shelling will be able to obtain land for free, regardless of whether they used such a benefit earlier.
Previously, the legislation has determined that a free land can be provided to preferred categories of citizens, the list of which is determined by the regional authorities, only once. Now affected citizens will be able to get land for free without taking into account previous applications.

Former US president Donald Trump urged Republicans Monday to reject a bipartisan Senate deal trading tough new border security measures for $60 billion in Ukraine funding and other national security priorities.
"Don’t be STUPID!!! We need a separate Border and Immigration Bill. It should not be tied to foreign aid in any way, shape, or form!" said Trump, who is running for reelection and is desperate to deprive President Joe Biden of a major legislative win ahead of the November vote.

Russia awaits results of investigation into Nord Streams sabotage - Kremlin
According to Dmitry Peskov, "this is sabotage against important international infrastructure, and it cannot be allowed without identifying those responsible".
Russia has frequently sought data from the inquiry into Nord Stream sabotage, but has never gotten a response, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters, adding that Moscow is eagerly anticipating the probe's findings.
"Russia has frequently sought this information, but no one has ever shared it with us. We have not been provided with this data," the Kremlin official stated.

Russia does not exclude withdrawal from the Arctic Council if its activities do not correspond to the interests of Moscow, Foreign Minister Nikolai Korchunov told RIA Novosti.
The Arctic Council was established in 1996, it is a high-level intergovernmental forum that promotes cooperation in the region, especially in the field of environmental protection. The council includes Denmark (including Greenland and Faroe Islands), Iceland, Canada, Norway, Russia, USA, Finland and Sweden. The rotation of the chairing countries takes place every two years. The chairmanship passed to Russia in May 2021.

Putin, UAE President reaffirm position in favor of prompt ceasefire in Gaza Strip
According to the statement, the sides welcome "restoration of a political process, aimed at achievement of a long-term and fair solution for the Palestinian issue based on the known international legal foundation".
The situation in the Middle East sharply escalated following an incursion of Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip into Israel on October 7. Hamas has cast the attack as a response to Israeli actions against the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. Israel has declared a complete siege of the Gaza Strip and started a military operation there.
